Wishwell TBC

Loot database, wishlist and helper for TBC Anniversary. See what drops where, get told when your items drop, check upgrades on any tooltip, and ask Wisp where anything is.

Wishwell TBC

Got a question mid-game? Just ask. "Where is Hogger?", "Where do I get Knothide Leather?", "What's the hit cap?", "Am I in BiS?" Wisp, Wishwell's little companion, answers from the addon's own data on every Classic and TBC NPC, item, quest and drop. It works offline, and no, it's not an AI. It's just a really good look-up.

Hover any item and Wishwell tells you if it's an upgrade for your talent build, and why. Put something on your wishlist and you'll get a message, a sound and a chat line the moment it drops. Works solo, at any level, in TBC Anniversary.

Ask Wisp

  • Use the Ask box at the top of the window, the Wisp tab, or /ww ask where is Hogger
  • Where things are: where an item drops or who sells it, where an NPC stands, what a boss drops, where a quest starts, what it asks and where to hand it in, the nearest innkeeper, repairer or flight master
  • Where things come from: creature drops and world drops with their chances, plus what's skinned, gathered, pickpocketed, fished up or found in chests, veins and herbs. How crafted items are made, and which reputation a reward needs
  • About you: "what should I do next?", "best upgrade" (overall, one slot, or one raid), "which dungeon should I run?", "where should I level?", your quests, wishlist, gold and professions
  • Check me, "check my stats" and "am I in BiS gear?": checks your talents, stats, gear and enchants against your build and phase, then lists what's missing and where to get it
  • How the game works: hit, expertise and defense caps, crit, haste, armor pen, resilience, mana regen, heroic keys, reputation, respec costs and more, using your own gear, buffs, talents and spells ("why do I pull so much threat?")
  • Follow-ups ("where is he?", "wish for it"), abbreviations ("SSC", "VC"), forgiving spelling ("kaelthas", "mana tombs"), and a Wowhead link to copy

Upgrade tips everywhere

  • Any item tooltip (bags, vendors, loot) compares the item with what you're wearing, stat by stat, and says if it's an upgrade and why
  • Judged for your talent build, with stats ranked the way the Icy Veins TBC Classic guide for that build ranks them. "(#2)" after a stat is its place on that list
  • Loot rolls and quest reward choices get the same advice. The Wishwell window doesn't need to be open

Wishlist and drop alerts

  • Mark what you want. When it drops: on-screen message, sound and chat line (and optionally a line in party or raid chat)
  • Wishlist tracker: a small list you can drag anywhere, with what drops where you're standing at the top
  • Group members with Wishwell see what you want, so nobody rolls against a friend by accident
  • Walk into a dungeon and the wisp shows what drops there for your class, wishlist items first

Loot and try-on

  • Every TBC and Classic raid and dungeon, by boss, with normal and heroic as separate lists. Walk into a dungeon and the right list opens
  • Filter by class, rarity, slot and zone, or search everything. Click any item to try it on
  • Tier, dungeon and PvP item sets. Open one to see it on your character

Talents, quests and the rest

  • Talents: your three trees full width, standard level 70 builds for damage, tank or healing, and the order to take each point. Spend points fills your free points for you, but only when you click it and say yes
  • Quest guide: a small window that stays up while you play and points you to your nearest stop, with distance and direction (/ww guide)
  • Quests: every quest from 1 to 70, Outland included, for your class and race (Blood Elves and Draenei too), best XP first. Click one to open the map with a pin on the quest giver
  • What next? The best quest where you are, zones with the most quest XP, a dungeon for your level, and your spell costs
  • Spell training: visit your trainer once and see what's coming at each level and what it costs
  • Professions: the recipes that will raise your skill and whether you have the materials (Enchanting too). Pin a recipe to keep its materials on screen, then click a material to search for it at the auction house
  • Characters and gold goals across your account

Getting started

  1. Install from the CurseForge app, or unzip both folders (WishwellTBC and WishwellTBC_World) into _anniversary_\Interface\AddOns\
  2. Restart WoW
  3. Type /ww or click the minimap button. /ww help lists every command

WishwellTBC_World is the data behind Ask Wisp. It only loads the first time you ask something, so it doesn't slow down your login.

Good to know

  • Drop rates come from AtlasLootClassic and the CMaNGOS TBC database, a community reconstruction of the loot tables, so treat them as close rather than exact. Most Classic items have rates but only some TBC items do. After ten kills of a boss, Wishwell shows your own numbers
  • Healer gear: the best-in-slot lists come from wowsims, which doesn't have lists for healers
  • The upgrade verdict is a guide based on your build's stat priority, not a simulation
  • Wishwell never rolls, picks or equips anything. The one thing it will do for you is spend talent points, and only when you click the button and say yes

Running raids? Wishwell pairs nicely with Raid Night, my in-game soft-reserve addon. A WoW Forever version of Wishwell is coming soon too.
