Everyday quality of life for World of Warcraft: Forever.
Winter Essentials takes care of the small chores, whether you're levelling, questing or running dungeons. It repairs your gear and sells your greys at the vendor, warns you before your armour breaks, and shows how fast you're moving. Before a dungeon or raid it tells you what you forgot: your class buff, your pet, and in raids your flask and food. It puts item level, enchant and gem status on the character and inspect frames, and tracks your hit, crit and avoidance against targets you set.
One addon, no libraries, and every option in both the options panel and /we. Turn off anything you don't want.
It brings together AdventureKit and Elitist's Toolkit, rebuilt for Forever's 2004 world: no Mythic+, no specializations, the original enchantable slots and the original raid consumables.
Features
Vendor
Repairs automatically at any repair vendor, using guild gold when your guild allows it. Sells grey items and leaves quest items alone.
Durability
A chat warning when equipped gear drops below a threshold you choose. /we check checks on demand.
Readiness
On entering a dungeon or raid, a warning for anything missing:
- a flask (the four raid flasks: Titans, Distilled Wisdom, Supreme Power, Chromatic Resistance)
- Well Fed
- your class's group buff on the party. The group version counts: Gift of the Wild satisfies Mark of the Wild, Arcane Brilliance satisfies Arcane Intellect.
- your pet, for hunters and warlocks who have learned to summon one
Flask and food warnings default to raids only, because in this economy a flask is a raid consumable; set them to all for dungeons too, or off. A warning when your pet dies in a dungeon or raid, and an optional on-screen HUD that lists what is missing.
Gear
Item level, enchant and gem badges on your character frame and on anyone you inspect. Enchant checks use the 2004 slot list: head, shoulders, cloak, chest, bracers, gloves, legs, boots, weapons, shields and scopes. No rings, and no wands.
A side panel shows average item level and your hit, crit, expertise, dodge, parry and block against targets you set. Each talent group keeps its own targets. Targets start unset, so the addon never grades you against a number it made up.
Speed display
Movement speed as a percentage of run speed.
Cursor reticle
A green ring around the mouse cursor, for finding it in a busy fight. Hidden over the interface. On by default: /we reticle turns it off, and /we reticlecolor changes the color.
Settings
Everything is in Esc → Options → AddOns → Winter Essentials, and every option there is also a /we command.

Requirements
- World of Warcraft: Forever, client 1.60.1 (interface 16001)
- No dependencies, no libraries
Installing
Use your addon manager, or unzip into your Forever install's Interface\AddOns\ folder so that you have AddOns\WinterEssentials\WinterEssentials.toc.
Reporting a problem
Forever is new and its beta is still changing. If something looks wrong, run /we probe out of combat and include the report. It shows which game functions the client has and which spells and stats the addon could read, and that is usually the whole answer.
