Whiskers - Guild Loot Prio Tooltips

Adds tooltip messages for items, including AtlasLoot hover over. Linked to Whisker Guild in WoW Classic.

WhiskersLoot

WhiskersLoot is a lightweight WoW Classic Era loot reference addon designed around the Whiskers guild CSSR and Master Looter system.

It brings CSSR priorities, special item rules, named priority lists, and Master Looter guidance directly into the game — reducing the need to check external spreadsheets while distributing loot.

The addon is completely self-contained and requires no external files or spreadsheet access during gameplay.

Features

CSSR Tooltips

WhiskersLoot automatically adds guild loot information to supported item tooltips.

Simply hover over a tracked item to see its current CSSR priority.

Normal CSSR information is displayed in yellow so that it can be quickly distinguished from the standard World of Warcraft tooltip.

WhiskersLoot works from the item's ID, allowing the same CSSR information to be shown wherever compatible item tooltips are used.

Pink CSSR Items

Items marked pink in the Whiskers CSSR system receive special handling.

Instead of displaying the normal yellow CSSR priority, WhiskersLoot displays the item's specific CSSR note in pink text.

This makes special loot rules immediately visible to the Master Looter.

Pink items also use the appropriate special-item Master Looter logic rather than being treated as a standard CSSR item.

Master Looter Guidance

WhiskersLoot includes the Whiskers loot-distribution logic directly in the addon.

Supported item tooltips contain a dedicated Loot Logic section showing the order in which the Master Looter should evaluate eligible players.

The logic is presented as a simple numbered sequence so that it can be followed quickly while loot is being distributed.

Depending on the item, WhiskersLoot can guide the Master Looter through considerations including:

Soft Reserve → CSSR Priority → Rank → +1 → Roll

Special/pink items use their applicable CSSR priority rules before the remaining loot rules are considered.

WhiskersLoot is intended as a decision-support tool for the Master Looter. It provides the guild's rules and priority information without automatically awarding loot.

Priority Lists

WhiskersLoot includes the guild's supported named item priority lists.

When an item has a priority list, the addon can display up to the top five currently listed players.

This allows the Master Looter to quickly see who is currently highest on the relevant list without checking the external guild spreadsheet.

Supported priority-list information includes items such as:

  • Kiss of the Spider

  • Slayer's Crest

  • Gressil, Dawn of Ruin

  • The Hungering Cold

  • Splinter of Atiesh

Priority-list information is stored directly inside WhiskersLoot.

Searchable CSSR Database

WhiskersLoot also provides an in-game browser for the complete CSSR database.

Type:

/wl

to open WhiskersLoot.

The browser allows you to search for an item and review its loot information without needing to have the item available to hover over.

Items can also be filtered by raid to make finding the relevant loot quicker during a raid.

Selecting an item displays the available information for that item, including its:

  • CSSR priority or note

  • Pink CSSR status

  • Priority-list information

  • Gargul priority information where applicable

  • Master Looter guidance

  • Raid/item information

Raid Filtering

The WhiskersLoot browser can filter the CSSR database by raid.

This makes it easier to restrict the loot list to the content currently being cleared rather than searching through the entire database.

Use the raid filters alongside the item search box to quickly locate the item being distributed.

Gargul Compatibility

WhiskersLoot includes support for the Whiskers loot rules used alongside Gargul.

Gargul is optional and is not required to use WhiskersLoot.

WhiskersLoot maintains its own CSSR database, tooltip information, priority lists, and Master Looter guidance.

When Gargul is installed, WhiskersLoot can operate alongside it while continuing to provide Whiskers-specific loot information.

Usage

View an Item Tooltip

Hover over a supported item.

WhiskersLoot automatically adds the relevant CSSR and Master Looter information to the tooltip.

No command is required.

Open WhiskersLoot

Type:

/wl

This opens the searchable CSSR database.

From here you can search for items, filter the database by raid, select an item, and review its CSSR and Master Looter information.

Search for an Item

You can search directly from the command line:

/wl <item name>

For example:

/wl Drake Fang Talisman

WhiskersLoot will look for the matching item in its CSSR database.

You can also use the search field inside the /wl interface.

Master Looter Guide

To specifically check the loot logic for an item, use:

/wl guide <item name>

For example:

/wl guide Drake Fang Talisman

WhiskersLoot will display the relevant CSSR and Master Looter guidance for that item.

The same guidance is also available from the item's tooltip and WhiskersLoot browser.

Gargul Information

Type:

/wl gargul

to view information about the addon's Gargul compatibility.

Version Information

Type:

/wl version

to display the installed WhiskersLoot version and loot database information.

This can be useful for checking that everyone involved in loot distribution is running the current release.

Recommended Master Looter Workflow

During a raid, the Master Looter can keep WhiskersLoot available using /wl.

When an item drops:

  1. Hover over or search for the item.

  2. Check whether the item has a normal CSSR priority or a special pink CSSR note.

  3. Check any displayed named priority-list players.

  4. Follow the numbered Loot Logic shown by WhiskersLoot.

  5. Use the resulting information alongside Gargul/SR information where applicable.

  6. Award the item according to the guild's current loot rules.

The goal is to make the required information available in one place while keeping the actual loot decision under the control of the Master Looter.

Open the WhiskersLoot interface.

/wl <item name>
Search the CSSR database for an item.

/wl guide <item name>
Display Master Looter guidance for an item.

/wl gargul
Display Gargul compatibility information.

/wl version
Display the installed addon/database version.

Installation

  1. Download and extract WhiskersLoot.

  2. Place the WhiskersLoot folder inside:

World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns\

  1. Restart World of Warcraft or reload the game.

  2. Make sure WhiskersLoot is enabled from the AddOns menu.

  3. Enter the game and type /wl.

Gargul can be installed alongside WhiskersLoot but is not a required dependency.

Updating WhiskersLoot

The CurseForge release is completely self-contained.

All CSSR priorities, pink-item notes, priority lists, raid information, Master Looter rules, and relevant Gargul information are packaged directly inside the addon.

There are no external spreadsheets, batch files, Python scripts, or other processing tools required by users.

When the Whiskers loot rules or CSSR database change, install the latest WhiskersLoot release to receive the updated database.

About WhiskersLoot

WhiskersLoot originally began as a simple addon for displaying Whiskers loot priorities in item tooltips.

It has since developed into an in-game CSSR and Master Looter reference tool, while retaining the lightweight tooltip functionality of the original addon.

WhiskersLoot is designed specifically to support the Whiskers guild's loot system in World of Warcraft Classic Era.
