What's new

Wayframe 0.5.8

New

  • Gathering reminder (World of Warcraft: Forever). If the Professions button is on your bar and you know Find Minerals or Find Herbs, its icon now glows while you have neither buff. Its tooltip shows which are off, and a right-click casts one. It stays quiet in combat.

Improved

  • Much less work in raids and dungeons. The raid and dungeon control panels kept checking everyone's buffs after they closed, whenever a buff changed on anyone, nameplates included, right up until your next reload. This went on through combat and after you left. They now do nothing while closed. While open, they only react to your own group and check once per burst of changes.
  • Less work after a campsite. The campsite bar kept checking your buffs on every cooldown after you left the fire. It now stops when it closes.
  • The end cap picker uses less memory. It kept every design loaded at full size until your next reload. It now loads only the designs on show, and lets them go when it closes.
  • Quicker Legacy tooltip. It went through every achievement in the game each time you hovered over it. It now remembers the result until you earn an achievement.
  • One cooldown on the campsite bar. Camp items all share one cooldown, so the time now shows once, just after the last item, instead of on top of every icon. The items stay dimmed while it runs, and it says Ready once you can place one. On a very narrow bar the time gives way, and the dimmed items and their tooltips still tell you.
  • Camp items show their profession. Each item button on the campsite bar now uses its profession's icon instead of a picture of the item, matching the professions bar and following your Icon style setting. The icons are larger too, and still follow your Icon size setting.
  • New First Aid icon. A clean, simple cross on the campsite and professions bars, when your Icon style is Wayframe.

Fixed

  • End caps sit on top. Icons and text near the ends of the bar used to draw over an end cap. They now go underneath it, and anything a cap overlaps can still be clicked.
  • End cap effects no longer restart. Glows blinked, particles vanished and the metal sheen started over whenever the bar rearranged itself, such as when a module's text changed width. They now carry on undisturbed.

Wayframe 0.5.7

Improved

  • First Aid Kit icon. The First Aid Kit button on the campsite bar now uses the same First Aid icon as the professions bar, and follows your Icon style setting.

Wayframe 0.5.6

New

  • Share your profile. The Profiles page can now turn your settings into a line of text to send to a friend or post anywhere, and import one from someone else. An imported profile is saved as a new one and your character switches to it, so your own settings are never replaced. Your character's name isn't included, and anything that doesn't exist in the game you're playing falls back to the nearest choice.
  • Presets. The Profiles page has a new Presets section. Save your whole bar under a name, then switch between your presets on any character from a list, or with /wf preset <name>, which also works in a macro. Later changes stay out of a preset until you update it, and if you switch by mistake, Undo last switch puts your settings back.

Improved

  • Gold fits itself to the bar. Gold now starts with no icon, showing gold, silver and copper. On a fixed or action-bar-matched bar that's short of room it shortens to gold only, then to just the coin, and comes back when there's room again. It only changes when your gold gains a digit, not with every coin you loot. Your bar keeps its current Gold settings, but gets the same steps. To try the new look, open Gold on the Modules page, turn off Show icon and set Format to Gold, silver and copper.
  • Gold with its icon off now shows a gold coin instead of a "g", to match.
  • Roomier campsite bar. The camp's state and time now sit together on the left, and the Sit and camp item buttons spread out evenly along the rest of the bar instead of crowding the right end. The cooldown on each button is smaller, so it stays on its own icon.
  • No more orange boxes on Ready check and Pull. The control panel's buttons and the ready check bar's Pull button are now just their icons and labels, like the rest of the bar.

Fixed

  • Camp item buttons now place your items. They were trying to run the crafting recipe, so a click never placed anything. A click now uses the item from your bags, and shows the shared one-hour cooldown properly. If you know the recipe but have none, the button is dimmed and its tooltip tells you to craft one.
  • Horde tailors get their Faction Banner button. It was missing.
  • Key timer stays up when you change the objective tracker option. Changing "Minimise Blizzard's objective tracker during the key" during a key or a timer preview used to drop the bar back to its modules, and turning it on didn't minimise the tracker until the next key. The tracker now changes straight away and the timer stays on the bar.

Wayframe 0.5.5

New

  • Setup guide. A new install now gets a short guide to choosing a look, size, position, modules and which situations the bar changes for, with everything showing on the bar as you pick it. Your existing setup isn't affected. Run it any time with /wf setup, or from the General page.
  • Visual end cap picker. End caps now open a grid of every design instead of a long list of names. Hover one to try it on the bar, and click to choose it.
  • Hide the bar in combat. On the General page, under In combat, you can keep showing the bar, fade it or hide it, with a preview button. The key timer and boss health stay up by default, and you can turn that off.
  • Professions module. A new button with a hammer and pick icon that opens your professions window, and lists your skills when you hover it. Turn it on from Modules. It shows just the icon, or its name too if you turn on Show text.

Improved

  • Tidier settings. General and Panel layout are now one General page, and options that don't apply no longer leave gaps.
  • Situations in the sidebar. Mythic+, Raid, Campsite, Professions and Level up each have their own page, instead of sitting behind a dropdown on the Modules page. Each page shows its bar while you're on it. Open world and In cities and inns are still on the Modules page, and Profiles is now last.
  • Every end cap for every character. The Appearance page now starts on All designs instead of your own class, and long lists like End caps scroll. Show designs for still narrows them to one class, race, faction or zone.
  • Easier module ordering. What's on the bar and what isn't are now separate lists, on the Modules page and in the control panels. Drag to reorder what's on the bar; tick something else to add it to the end. Your bar's order isn't changed.
  • Module options where you click. Clicking a module opens its options directly under it, instead of at the bottom of the list. Click it again to close them.

Wayframe 0.5.4

New

  • Skill-up flash. When a skill goes up the bar fades briefly to it, such as MINING 150, then back. With your skills or professions open, the skill glows on the bar instead. You can turn it off from Modules, under "Professions", or preview it with /wf test skillup.
  • Quick actions on the professions bar. Right-click a profession for its action, such as Disenchant, Find Minerals, Find Herbs or Fishing.

Improved

  • Train reminder (Forever). On the professions bar, a skill at the cap of its rank turns orange, so you know to visit a trainer.
  • Session gains on the professions bar. It shows how many points each skill has gained since you logged in, such as +7, where there's room, and always in the tooltip.
  • Camp info on the professions bar (Forever). The tooltip shows what each profession adds to a camp, and whether your camp feature is ready.
  • Fixed bars never change size. A bar set to a fixed width or matched to an action bar now keeps that size whatever it shows. Modules drop their text, then their icons shrink, and on a very narrow bar any that still don't fit are left off from the right. Mythic+, raid, level up and campsite bars drop detail to fit. If your fixed bar used to grow, it now stays at the width you set; raise the Width setting if it looks too tight.
  • Smoother bar width. On a bar that fits its content, when a view needs a different width the bar now slides to it between the fades instead of jumping.
  • Cities and inns fade too. If you've set up a separate city bar, the bar now fades when it changes as you enter or leave a city or inn.

Wayframe 0.5.3

New

  • Level up animation. When you gain a level the bar fades to LEVEL UP!, then to your new level, then back to your modules. You can turn it off or play it from Modules, under "Level up", or with /wf test levelup.
  • Professions bar. While your skills or a professions window are open, the bar shows each profession's icon and skill, with new Wayframe icons for the professions. Click one to open it. You can turn it off or preview it from Modules, under "Professions", or with /wf test professions.

Improved

  • Softer bar changes. The bar now fades between its modules and its other views (Mythic+, raid, campsite) instead of switching at once, including the Mythic+ timer and boss health fills.
  • Cleaner campsite buttons (Forever). The Sit and camp feature buttons are now just their icons, without the orange boxes around them.

Fixed

  • Campsite panel staying hidden (Forever). After you hid the panel with a right-click it could fail to come back. It now returns when you sit down at the fire, or when you reach a camp after leaving one, and /wf camp brings it back at any time.
  • Campsite button animation (Forever). The Sit and camp feature buttons now grow when you hover them and dip when you click, like the bar's other buttons. A clicked icon no longer stays small.

Wayframe 0.5.2

New

  • 37 new end caps in a painted style. New class designs for Hunter, Priest and Warlock, Mage Arcane and Rogue Combat, plus new looks for Druid, Mage, Rogue and Warrior specs; race designs for Dwarf, Night Elf and Troll, and more for Undead; Alliance and Horde designs; and zone designs for Elwynn Forest, Stranglethorn and Winterspring. Many glow, shine or give off particles.
  • Campsite icons (Forever). The campsite panel has its own campfire icon, and the Sit button a rest icon. Both follow your Icon style.

Improved

  • Hide the campsite panel (Forever). Right-click it to hide it until you leave that campfire; the next camp shows it again.

Wayframe 0.5.1

New

  • Undead design. Three Undead end caps (a ruined arch, a coffin and padlock, and chained timber), each giving off pale green wisps.
  • Forever theme (Forever). A new theme that frames the bar in Forever's own window frame, drawn by the game so it matches the client's windows. The Blizzard theme keeps the retail borders.

Improved

  • Finer width control. The Width slider for a fixed-width bar now moves in steps of 5 instead of 10.

Fixed

  • No gap between the frame and the background. On the Wayframe theme a thin line of the game world could show between the frame and the bar's background, mostly along the top and bottom and at smaller bar sizes. The background now fills the whole frame at every size.

Removed

  • The Druid theme. If you used it, your bar switches to the Wayframe theme. The Druid end caps are still available.
  • Most backgrounds. The Background setting now offers Theme default and Rock. On the Blizzard and Forever themes, Theme default is Blizzard's dark-blue tooltip background. If you used another background, your bar switches to Theme default (or Rock on the Blizzard theme).

Wayframe 0.5.0

New

  • Legacy module (Forever). Shows your Legacy Points earned, the points this character can still spend, and how far you are from the next Legacy Track reward. Hover for every reward and your completed challenges in each category. Click to open the Legacy panel.
  • Campsite panel (Forever). At a campfire the bar shows whether you have the camp's benefits and how long they last (or the minute of sitting until you do), with a Sit button and a button for each camp feature your professions can build, showing the shared one-hour cooldown. Hover it for the camp's effects and any class buffs they don't stack with.
  • More class and race designs. New end caps for Druid (four), Mage (Fire and Frost), Paladin (Holy and Protection) and Shaman (three corner pieces), race designs for Human, Orc and Tauren, and an Adventurer cap for anyone. Appearance groups everything by class or race.
  • Particles. Some end caps give off embers, frost, holy motes, arcane sparks or fireflies, with their own on/off toggle under Appearance.
  • Wayframe icons. Weekly, Notes, Zone, Renown, Quests, Currencies and Hearthstone have new icons in the same gold style as the control panels.
  • Icon style. Prefer the game's own icons? Choose Blizzard under Appearance → Icons and text to use them on the bar and the control panels.
  • Buttons respond to the mouse. Icons ease up slightly when you hover and dip when you click, on the bar and the control panels.

Improved

  • One repair icon. Durability on the bar now uses the same repair icon as the control panels.
  • Easier Appearance settings. Options are grouped into Theme, Colour, Decorations, and Icons and text, and only the options that apply to your theme are shown.
  • Wayframe theme colour. The Wayframe frame now defaults to a soft warm white (#FFFBF8). Choose Theme default under Border colour to use it.
  • Icon size. The default icon size is a little smaller: the new 100% is the old 85%. Your current icons keep their size; only the number shown changes.
  • Smaller download. Wayframe is now about a third of its previous size, with no visible change.
  • New installs start ready to go: the Blizzard theme with the Tooltip border, showing Gold, Repair, Backpack, Notes and Weekly on a 480-wide bar. Your existing setup isn't changed.

Fixed

  • Currencies update straight away. The Currencies module no longer waits for a reload to show new amounts.
  • No gap after the divider on the Mythic+ and raid control panels. The first check now sits as close to the divider as the buttons before it, and the checks fill the rest of the bar.
  • The raid wipe bar keeps a locked size. On a bar fixed to a width or matched to an action bar, it now shortens itself to fit (dropping the boss name first) instead of widening the bar.

Removed

  • Four end caps: Frost Death Knight, Elemental (lightning and lava), Enhancement (axe and hammer) and Iron straps. If you used one, your bar shows no end cap; pick another under Appearance.
  • The Wayframe border styles (Forged, Gilded and Iron) for the Blizzard theme. If you used one, your bar switches to the Tooltip border.
  • The Paladin and Arcane themes. If you used one, your bar switches to the Wayframe theme. Paladin and Mage end caps, crests and the Arcane velvet background are still available.
  • Decorations on the Blizzard theme. End caps, effects, crests and top edges are now for the Wayframe and class themes only.

Wayframe 0.4.0

New

  • World of Warcraft: Forever support. Wayframe now loads in Forever as well as retail. Features Forever doesn't have (Mythic+, Keystone, Skyriding, World quests) are left out there, and the raid buff check knows the group buffs (Prayer of Fortitude, Arcane Brilliance, Gift of the Wild).
  • Profiles. Every character now has its own profile, so changing one character's bar never changes another's. The new Profiles page lets you switch, share, copy, reset and delete profiles. Your existing settings carry over unchanged.
  • New modules: Notes (type notes, read them on hover), Weekly (reset timer, Great Vault progress and your own weekly checklist), Quests, World quests and bonus objectives, Skyriding, Currencies, XP, Time to level, Renown, Hearthstone and Zone.
  • Clickable Hearthstone. Click the Hearthstone module to use your Hearthstone, a random hearthstone toy, or a toy you choose.
  • Class designs. End caps for Paladin, Death Knight, Rogue (four), Shaman (four) and Warrior (three), plus Arcane crests. Appearance groups everything by class.
  • Animated effects. End caps glow, flicker and crackle where they have glowing parts, and light sweeps across their metal. Choose Off, Subtle or Full.
  • Ice top edge. A frozen strip can run along the top of the bar.
  • Precise positioning. Horizontal and Vertical sliders, with one-pixel steps and a Centre button.
  • Show text / Show icon for every module, plus icon-only modules.

Improved

  • Simpler settings. The Modules page has one section per bar (Open world, Cities, Mythic+, Raid), each with every option for that bar. Picking one previews it, and the preview stops when you leave.
  • Control panels use the same drag-to-order list as the modules.
  • Fixed-width bars drop module text before icons to fit, and never hide an icon.
  • No wasted space. Each module is exactly as wide as its text.
  • The bar can sit over an action bar. It now draws above the action bars by default.
  • End caps sit on top of the border with no gap.

Removed

  • The old low-detail crests and end caps.
  • End ornaments on the Blizzard theme (they didn't fit its border).
