Description

WSGFlagCarrier

Always know who's carrying the flag in Warsong Gulch — their name, their health, and their debuffs, right where you're already looking.

Warsong Gulch lives and dies by the flag carriers. Blizzard's default UI tells you the flag was picked up, but not by whom, how healthy they are, or whether they're locked down by a stun or a snare. This addon fixes that by adding a small, clickable readout right next to the capture-count icons at the top of your screen.

What you get

Carrier names, right on your screen

As soon as a flag is picked up, that carrier's name appears next to the matching capture icon at the top center of the screen — colored by class, so you can tell a healer from a rogue at a glance.

Click to target

The name is a real, secure button: left-click it to target that player instantly — no need to tab-target through the battleground or dig them out of the raid frames.

Live health tracking

Right next to the name, you'll see the carrier's current health percentage, kept up to date automatically. It works whether the carrier is your target, in your raid, visible on a nameplate, or targeted by a raid member — the addon checks all of those automatically to find a reading.

Debuff icons

See at a glance whether the flag carrier is snared, silenced, or otherwise locked down. A configurable list of tracked debuffs (Cheap Shot, Hamstring, Frost Trap, Weakened Soul, and more — fully editable) shows up as small icons next to their name, each with an optional countdown timer.

Shared with your team

Your own health and debuff readings on the flag carrier are automatically shared with your teammates over addon messages, so everyone's display stays accurate even if only one of you can currently see or target the carrier.

Low health announcements (optional)

Want the raid to know the enemy carrier is about to die, or that yours needs peels? Turn on chat announcements and the addon will post a message in battleground chat whenever a carrier's health drops below a threshold you choose — with a cooldown so it doesn't spam.

Works in English and French

The addon detects your game client's language automatically and displays everything — menus, chat messages, and the flag-pickup/drop detection itself — in the matching language.

Getting started

Everything is configured from a simple, standalone options window — no dependency on Blizzard's Interface Options panel, so it works reliably even on older or heavily modified clients. Open it with /wsgfc.

From there you can:

  • Turn low-HP announcements on or off for either flag carrier, and set the thresholds
  • Enable or disable debuff icons and their timers
  • Adjust how many debuff icons are shown
  • Edit the list of tracked debuffs directly (one entry per line: spell ID, optionally with a custom name)
  • Toggle the short-message detection pattern used as a backup way to catch flag pickups

Slash Commands

  • /wsgfc — open the options window
  • /wsgfc spell <name> — look up a spell's ID and icon ID (handy for adding custom debuffs to the tracked list)
  • /wsgfc reset — reset the addon's internal state if a carrier's name or HP ever gets stuck
  • /wsgfc debug — print current tracking state to help diagnose an issue
  • /wsgfc widgets — dump the score UI's internal structure (only needed if Blizzard changes that UI and carrier names stop appearing)

Notes

  • Only active inside Warsong Gulch.
  • No external library dependencies — this addon is fully self-contained.
