What's new
WarbandStandings 0.5.0
New
QuestBook — a new tab for your warband's quests
- Track every quest your warband has touched: who has completed it, who is still on it, and who has not started — across all your characters, marked from your current character's point of view.
- A History of every quest your characters have engaged, searchable by name or ID, with your own bookmark groups for the quests and questlines you care about.
- A map for any quest showing where it starts, where it turns in, and each objective — numbered pins and shaded area outlines for objectives that span several spots, plus a pull-down to jump between the zones a quest crosses.
- Quest summary, description, and objectives from a bundled dataset covering tens of thousands of quests, a copyable Wowhead link, and an editor to add your own start, turn-in, and objective locations — your manual entries and the addon's collected data never overwrite each other.
- Alliance / Horde / Neutral tracked per quest, and an "Other Characters" panel listing every alt who has the selected quest done or in progress.
Bookshelf — a new tab for the readables your warband finds
- Every readable your warband comes across — books, letters, notes, plaques, scrolls — tracked by which characters have read what.
- Read the captured pages of any entry, filled from a bundled dataset of thousands of readables and from your own characters' reading as it happens.
- Where a readable is found is marked on the map, with room to add your own locations alongside the ones the addon already knows.
Sharing
- Share a quest, questline, or book to other players running WarbandStandings, over the addon's own comms — no external service.
Map Checker
- A shared Map Checker to tell same-named maps apart (twelve zones are called "Dalaran"): type a name or ID and see each candidate's real floor name and parent map.
Changed
- The bundled quest and book datasets now import once and then stay quiet until a new version brings new data — they no longer reload the large data files every session, so memory stays lean.
- QuestData no longer force-loads at login; both datasets load strictly on demand.
Fixed
- Fixed a taint issue where the memo pop-ups could block ESC from stopping your spellcast.
- Guarded live player position and facing against Midnight's "secret value" protection, so the map's you-are-here arrow can't taint the interface.
Notes
- QuestBook and Bookshelf load on demand, like every other tab.
- Runs on World of Warcraft 12.1.0 (and still 12.0.7).
