Upgrade Arrow

Your best gear, your way: upgrades judged by your goal, spec, hit cap, weapons, armor and sets, from leveling to level 60.

Upgrade Arrow

Built for World of Warcraft: Forever: Upgrade Arrow shows the gear in your bags that beats what you wear and puts it on in one click. It doesn't just add up numbers: it judges every item the way you play, from your first quest to level 60.

Always up to date with Forever. Upgrade Arrow is updated constantly as more of Forever is revealed: new stats, the real level-60 caps, class and item changes. Presets and rules follow what the game actually does.

What Upgrade Arrow does

Set it up the way you play

Every choice is saved per character, so your tank and your mage each get their own setup.

  • Your goal: Leveling, Level 60, or Auto (it switches by itself when you reach 60). Each goal has its own presets
  • Your spec: presets for every spec of every class (Arms / Fury, Protection, Feral cat, Feral bear, Balance, Restoration…). Switch specs and your upgrades change with you
  • Your priorities: drag any bar to focus on what you care about. Chance stats like hit, crit and dodge are weighed per 1%, the way Forever shows them
  • Your hit cap: hit only counts until you reach the cap, so a mage at the cap is shown the spell power ring, not one more hit ring. Change the cap whenever you want
  • Your fighting style: any, two-hand, dual wield, weapon + shield, or weapon + off-hand. A shield tank is never told to equip a two-hander
  • Your weapons: uncheck the types you don't want. A rogue who only plays daggers only sees daggers
  • Your armor: only suggest your best armor type (plate once you have learned it, and so on)
  • Your sets: ignore set bonuses, get warned before you break one, or never be told to break one. Items that complete a bonus say so
  • Your exceptions: an ignore list for items you never want suggested, and you decide whether bind-on-equip items can be equipped for you

More than a score

  • Green arrow on every bag item that beats what you wear, and how big the upgrade is
  • Red mark in the character window (C) on every slot you can improve
  • Equip in one click: the "Equip upgrades" button puts on every upgrade, and leaves in your bags anything that would bind or break a set, unless you allow it
  • Best quest reward: a green arrow on the biggest upgrade, and a blue arrow with a level on gear you will wear soon
  • Weapon skill aware: weapon types you have barely practiced count for less until your skill catches up
  • Tanks at level 60: defense counts up to 440, then stops
  • Rings, trinkets and one-hand weapons are compared with the weaker of your two; two-hand weapons with both hands together

Made for Forever

  • Hit and critical strike are one stat each for melee, ranged and spells
  • Expertise (fewer attacks dodged or parried) counts as a stat of its own
  • Bonus healing also counts a third of it as spell damage
  • Feral druids value weapon damage, because their forms use it
  • Set bonuses at 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 pieces
  • Hit, crit, spell power and the other bonuses items show as "Equip:" lines are read from the tooltip, so they always count
  • Situational effects (against a creature type, or in a kind of terrain) are named in the tooltip but not counted, because they only help sometimes
  • Rogues can use one-handed axes
  • Forever's level-60 caps aren't published yet: the hit cap starts at Classic's numbers and will follow Forever's as soon as they are known

How it works

Upgrade Arrow only reads item data, your gear, your skills and the quest window. It doesn't hook or replace any Blizzard function, draws its own marks on top of Blizzard's buttons, and equips items only when you click, out of combat.

Feedback and bug reports

World of Warcraft: Forever is in active development and its interface may change between builds. If something stops working, type /ua test and post the output together with a screenshot in the comments. Suggestions are welcome too: they help shape the next updates.

Support

If my addons make your adventure a little smoother, consider buying me a coffee. They're free and they'll stay that way. I build them in my spare time and keep them working through every Forever beta build. Every coffee helps me keep going. Thank you!
