Ultimate Quest

Keeps Blizzard's default quest interface in World of Warcraft: Forever and adds the information it leaves out. No new quest log, no clutter – just the details you were missing.

Formerly Better Quest Enhancer.

Features

World map

• A ! icon for every quest giver with a quest you can take in your level range – including the low-level quests Blizzard hides.
• A blue ? for quest givers that only offer repeatable quests.
• Quests whose required level is above yours are not shown.
• Hover an icon to see the giver's quests with quest level, required level and objective.
• Left-click an icon to set a map pin on the quest giver. Hovering that map pin shows the giver's quests too.

Minimap

• Hover a quest giver on the minimap to see their quests with quest level and required level – red if you're too low.
• Quests in your log show their level, difficulty and objectives with progress. The game's own quest lines are replaced, so nothing appears twice.

Quest giver tooltips

• Hovering an NPC or a quest object (wanted posters, chests, books…) lists the quests they have for you.
• NPCs you turn a quest in to show your current quests, with "Ready to turn in" once a quest is done.

Quests in your log

• Level, difficulty, required level, objectives with progress, rewards (XP, money, items), zone, distance and whether the quest can be shared.
• "Ready to turn in" and "Failed" are shown when they apply.

Quest links in chat

• Click a quest link someone posted in chat to see what it means for you: completed, in your quest log, you can pick it up, or which quests of the chain you need first.
• Also shows the required level, the quest giver and zone, whether it's repeatable and whether it can be shared.

Quest items and objects

• Make quest items glow – turns on the game's loot sparkle on quest items. Takes effect after restarting the game.
• Sparkle on quest objects – when an object one of your quests needs is close to you, a gold sparkle appears on it. It shines brighter once you can click it and turns grey if you can't use it yet. Doesn't work during combat.

Level range

• Choose how many levels below and above your own level quests are shown. Applies to the map and all tooltips.

Settings

Its own settings window with the pages General, World map, Tooltips, Sparkles and Additional languages. Open it with /uq, a left-click on the minimap button, or the addon compartment. The window is movable and resizable, and remembers its size, position and last page.

Minimap button: left-click opens the settings, right-click toggles quest givers on the world map, Shift-left-click toggles minimap tooltip details, drag to move it.

Languages

English, Deutsch, Español (ES/MX), Français, Italiano, Português (BR), Русский, 한국어, 简体中文 and 繁體中文 – following your game language. Català can be selected under Additional languages.

Quest, NPC and object names are shown in your game language.

Commands

Upgrading from Better Quest Enhancer

• Delete the old BetterQuestEnhancer folder from Interface\AddOns – otherwise both addons run at the same time. Ultimate Quest reminds you after login if it's still there.
• Because of the new name, your settings start fresh once.

Known limitations

• Quests new in WoW Forever are not included yet. The quest data covers the Classic quests Forever is based on. Information for Forever's new quests will be added once reliable data is available after release.
• The game hides some tooltip information from addons during combat, so the quest lists may not appear while fighting.
• On an Italian client, quest names are shown in English (no Italian quest data available).

Credits

Quest data (levels, requirements, quest givers, turn-in NPCs, positions and translations) is generated from the database of the Questie project, licensed under GPL-3.0.

The quest object sparkle (soft-target handling and glint animation) is based on Forever Loot Sparkles by Ashtar Senior, licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later.
