True Combat Indicator

True Combat Indicator is a lightweight addon that makes Blizzard’s default unit-frame combat indicators accurately reflect actual combat status.
By default, the Blizzard player frame displays the crossed-swords icon when auto attack is toggled on, even when the player has not actually entered combat. True Combat Indicator corrects this so the crossed-swords icon and combat appearance are only shown while the player is actually in combat.
The addon also adds the option to enable matching combat indicators to Blizzard’s target and focus frames.

Classic behavior
In Classic Era, Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, and Mists of Pandaria Classic, the target or focus unit’s level (or skull) is temporarily replaced by Blizzard’s crossed-swords icon while that unit is in combat.
The normal level or skull is restored when combat ends.
Retail behavior
In Retail, the combat indicator appears, by default, on the lower inner corner of the target and focus portraits, mirroring Blizzard’s player-frame combat icon. Their position can be adjusted in the addon settings.
