True Combat Indicator is a lightweight addon for WoW Classic Era that makes Blizzard's default unit-frame combat indicators reflect actual combat status.
By default, the Blizzard player frame displays the crossed-swords icon when auto attack is toggled on, even when the player has not actually entered combat. True Combat Indicator changes this behavior so the combat appearance is only shown while the player is genuinely in combat, making it more reliable to tell whether you are actually in combat or if you are sappable.
The addon also adds matching combat-state behavior to the Blizzard target frame. When a target is in combat, its level display is replaced by Blizzard's crossed-swords combat icon. When the target leaves combat, the normal level display is restored.
