Transmoggin is a complete transmog discovery, collection, outfit-building, and photography addon for World of Warcraft Retail and Mists of Pandaria Classic.

It was created around a simple idea:

Finding the perfect appearance should be just as enjoyable as wearing it.

Transmoggin brings appearance browsing, collection planning, acquisition information, outfit creation, and character photography together in one interface. Browse appearances, discover where they come from, build complete looks, track what you're missing, explore armor sets, and capture the finished result without jumping between multiple tools.

I've been working toward this project since Cataclysm Classic, and Transmoggin is the result of that journey. It has grown from an idea for a better way to browse transmogs into a much larger system built around the entire collecting experience.

The Salon is the heart of Transmoggin.

Choose an equipment slot and browse appearances available to your character through a visual catalog built around the character model itself.

Instead of digging through menus and lists, you can experiment directly with your character and build a look piece by piece.

The How to Obtain system combines available Blizzard information, Transmoggin's own source intelligence, shipped reference data, and information learned while you play to provide useful acquisition details directly inside the addon.

Depending on the appearance and available game data, Transmoggin can identify information such as:

• Difficulty information
• Quest rewards
• Quest names
• Quest givers
• Quest giver locations and coordinates
• Turn-in NPCs

SOURCE-AWARE SEARCH

Search isn't limited to item names.

Transmoggin's source intelligence is integrated into discovery so acquisition information can help you find appearances too.

Depending on available source data, searches can identify appearances associated with things such as:

Transmoggin is being built so the way players actually remember loot can become part of the way they search for it.

SMART VENDOR DISCOVERY

World of Warcraft contains an enormous number of appearances scattered across merchants, including unusual, legacy, faction-specific, and specialized vendors.

Transmoggin can learn from the vendors you encounter.

When supported information is available from the game client, merchant interaction can teach Transmoggin about:

• The vendor
• Vendor location
• Items being sold
• Appearance information
• Currency
• Cost

Useful discoveries can be cached locally so that information remains available for future browsing and searching.

This allows Transmoggin's knowledge to grow naturally as you explore Azeroth instead of relying exclusively on a completely static catalog.

SETS WITHOUT THE BLINDERS

The Wardrobe Sets browser takes a broader approach than the Salon.

The Salon is focused on building something appropriate for your current character.

Sets are about discovery.

Explore Blizzard sets and special collections across classes, armor types, expansions, factions, and other restrictions—even when your current character wouldn't normally wear them.

Set browsing includes features such as:

• Blizzard armor sets
• Special and unusual set discovery
• Cross-class browsing
• Wearable and Not Wearable information
• Wearability filtering
• Faction filtering
• Owned filtering
• Expansion filtering
• Individual set-piece information
• Full-set character previews where supported by the client

This makes the Sets browser useful not only for building your current outfit, but for discovering appearances you may want for other characters.

Goals integrate directly into the browsing experience so you can identify appearances you want, keep track of them, and watch your progress as your collection grows.

BUILD AND SAVE COMPLETE LOOKS

Transmoggin isn't only a collection database.

It's an outfit workshop.

Experiment with appearances directly on your character, mix pieces from different sources, preview combinations, and save the results as complete looks.

You can continue adjusting an outfit until it feels right without losing the original idea.

Whether you're recreating a classic tier appearance or putting together something completely original, the character stays at the center of the experience.

PHOTO STUDIO

Once you've created the perfect look, Transmoggin gives you somewhere to show it off.

Photo Studio turns your character into the subject of a dedicated transmog photography experience.

Create screenshots using:

Photo Studio isn't separate from the transmog experience.

WORLD PHOTO MODE

Sometimes Azeroth itself is the best background.

World Photo Mode lets you step outside the studio and use the actual game world for your screenshots.

Take your character to your favorite city, raid, landscape, hideout, or memorable location and use Transmoggin's photography tools there.

World photography features include controls for:

• Effect density
• Cleaner screenshot composition

Your favorite places in World of Warcraft become part of your transmog presentation.

BUILT FOR COLLECTORS

Transmoggin is designed around both sides of transmog collecting.

There is the creative side:

And there is the collecting side:

Where does it come from, and how do I get it?

Transmoggin brings those two questions together.

The project is designed to continue expanding its source intelligence and catalog knowledge over time while keeping performance in mind. Large data sources are indexed and cached where practical rather than repeatedly brute-force scanning them during normal UI interaction.

RETAIL AND MISTS OF PANDARIA CLASSIC

Transmoggin is developed with support for:

World of Warcraft's transmog APIs and available game data differ considerably between clients. Transmoggin uses compatibility checks, client-specific handling, shipped reference information, Blizzard APIs, and locally learned information where appropriate.

Because Blizzard does not expose every historical relationship through every client API, some acquisition information may be more complete than others.

The long-term goal remains the same:

Make Transmoggin's answer to "How do I get this?" as useful and accurate as the available data allows.

Transmoggin isn't intended to be a finished database wrapped in a UI.

It's a platform for transmog discovery.

The architecture leaves room for continued expansion of:
