TranslatorEEUU is a bilingual chat translation AddOn for World of Warcraft, designed specifically to help English-speaking players who do not speak Spanish. Its primary function is to translate visible chat messages from Spanish to English and vice versa, enabling real-time communication across language barriers within the game.
The AddOn operates through two main functions:
Listen: Translates incoming messages from Spanish to English by reading the visible chat tab, shown in the "Translator" panel. This function can be toggled on or off.
Speak: Translates your outgoing messages from English to Spanish. When you click "Send," the translated message is dispatched to the currently selected chat channel. This function can also be toggled on or off.
🧠Interface and Behavior
The AddOn includes a floating translation panel that can be moved by holding ALT and clicking with any mouse button. Its position is saved across reloads and after closing the game.
The panel's size and font can be adjusted, and these preferences persist across sessions and characters.
The launcher button gives quick access to the panel and can be repositioned freely.
🧬 Independence from Chat Configuration
TranslatorEEUU works independently of your chat configuration. It does not rely on specific chat frames or predefined channels. Instead, it reads directly from the visible chat tab to translate from Spanish to English, and it sends your translated messages from English to Spanish through the selected channel when you click "Send."
🧿 How the Translation Works
The Speak function is built to produce clear, natural Spanish from what you type. It uses internal rules to handle sentence structure, including recognizing questions (marked by a "?" at the end). The AddOn runs entirely offline: it does not connect to any online service or language model. Instead, it relies on a built-in rule-based translation engine backed by an extensive Spanish↔English dictionary. Because it is dictionary-based, it works best with everyday chat phrases.
TranslatorEEUU is ideal for English-speaking players on multilingual servers who play alongside Latin American communities and want clearer communication in chat. It is especially useful for bilingual guilds, roleplayers, and communities that value being able to understand one another.
Note: TranslatorEEUU and Traductor are two versions of the same addon, one made for English speakers and one for Spanish speakers. Since they share the same internal workings, it's best to keep only one of them installed at a time. Running both together may cause them to interfere with each other. Just pick the one that fits your language and you're all set.
