What's new

TitanSpeed Changelog

[v1.1.0] - 2026-10-11

Multi-version support

  • Added TitanSpeed_TBC.toc (20506), TitanSpeed_Mists.toc (50504), TitanSpeed_Mainline.toc (120005, 120007, 120100) and TitanSpeed_Camelot.toc (16001, WoW Forever), one per version in Titan Panel 9.3.4's own Titan.toc (Titan lists only 120100 for Retail; the Mainline TOC also carries 120005 and 120007, as FastGuildInvite's does). Every file list is the same single TitanSpeed.lua.
  • TitanSpeed.toc bumped from 11508 to 11509 (Classic Era 1.15.9).
  • TOC ## Title is now |cffFF8000TitanSpeed|r, the orange used across the suite's addons.

Right-click menu moved to Titan's Blizzard_Menu scheme

  • Fixed: "Show Tenths Digit" called L_UIDropDownMenu_AddButton, which Titan Panel removed in July 2026 (TitanMenu.lua: "L_UIDropDownMenu_* : 2026 July Removed"). The menu entry raised an error on every right-click with current Titan.
  • Fixed: the icon and label toggles were added with TitanPanelRightClickMenu_AddToggleIcon / _AddToggleLabelText, which only add an entry when registry.controlVariables names it. The registry had no controlVariables, so neither entry ever appeared.
  • The menu is now built through registry.menuContextFunction with Titan_Menu.AddSelector, Titan's checkbox helper (AddSelectorCommand builds a radio button). Titan toggles ShowTenth and redraws the button itself, so the plugin passes no callback. Titan adds the title, the control variables (ShowIcon, ShowLabelText, DisplayOnRightSide) and Hide around it. Blizzard_Menu is present in the Classic Era, Classic, Anniversary, live and Forever client sources, so one menu serves every TOC.
  • ShowTenth is now tested for truthiness instead of == 1: v1.0.0 saved 1, the new checkbox saves true, and both mean "on".

Smaller code fixes

  • The button-text, tooltip and menu callbacks are passed to Titan as local functions instead of being published as globals (TitanPanelSpeedButton_GetButtonText, TitanPanelSpeedButton_GetTooltipText, TitanPanelRightClickMenu_PrepareSpeedMenu). Titan accepts a function for each.
  • The OnUpdate throttle now resets its timer on every 0.5 s check. It used to reset only when the speed changed, so a player standing still called GetUnitSpeed on every frame after the first half second.
  • Removed the unused math_cos local and the never-read showtenth upvalue.

Project setup

  • Added LICENSE, README.md, CLAUDE.md, docs/Curseforge_Description.html, .luarc.json, .luacheckrc, .markdownlint.json, .markdownlintignore, wow-version-replication.ps1 and .vscode/tasks.json, following FastGuildInvite's layout.
  • .luacheckrc reads its globals from .luarc.json but leaves out busted's DSL names (describe, it, ...), so a stray test call in TitanSpeed.lua is still flagged. The specs get those names from std = "lua51+busted".
  • TitanSpeed.code-workspace no longer lists the old dropdown globals in Lua.diagnostics.globals, which still admitted the removed UIDropDownMenu_* calls, and now sets wowAPI.luals.defineKnownGlobals to false so the WoW API extension stops writing names back into it. New WoW and Titan globals go in .luarc.json.
  • Added the offline test suite (Tests/titanspeed_spec.lua) on the WoWAPITesting harness, a submodule at Tests/wowapi.
  • .pkgmeta rewritten to the packager's rules: comments removed, directory entries without a trailing slash, no dot-entries, no **/ globs. It now publishes this file through manual-changelog. README.md and LICENSE ship in the zip; "*.md" is no longer ignored.
  • wow-version-replication.ps1 mirrors the source into _classic_, _anniversary_, _retail_ and _classic_beta_. Unlike FGI's copy it does not poll every two seconds: it waits on FileSystemWatcher events through Register-ObjectEvent + Wait-Event (no -Action, so the handlers run in the script's own scope), and re-syncs the whole tree if the watcher reports a buffer overflow.
  • .vscode/settings.json pointed at the ketho.wow-api-0.21.0 annotations, which are no longer installed; it now points at 0.22.3.

[v1.0.0] - 2025-12-05

  • First release under Pimptasty's maintenance.
