TinkerTools is a performance-conscious collection of quality-of-life improvements for World of Warcraft Retail built around one simple idea:

**Improve the parts of WoW that get in your way without replacing the interface you already know.**

TinkerTools focuses on reducing unnecessary UI clutter, preserving valuable screen space, cutting down needless pop-ups and distractions, and improving common Blizzard workflows without adding another large configuration system on top of the game.

Most features are designed to work immediately after installation. The settings that genuinely matter remain configurable, while everything else is intended to simply work.

## A Different Kind of UI Addon

A lot of WoW addons ask you to rebuild your interface before you can enjoy them.

TinkerTools takes the opposite approach.

It works primarily with Blizzard's existing UI and makes targeted improvements where they are useful:

- Preserve screen real estate
- Reduce unnecessary pop-ups and visual interruptions
- Remove or minimize redundant Blizzard UI elements
- Improve information density without adding clutter
- Streamline repetitive interactions

## Install-and-Go

TinkerTools is deliberately designed to require very little setup.

Install the addon, log in, and most improvements are already working.

There is no expectation that you spend an hour arranging panels, importing profiles, configuring dozens of modules, or deciding between hundreds of options before you can play.

Where personal preference genuinely matters, TinkerTools provides configuration.

Where it doesn't, sensible defaults handle it for you.

## Performance & Compatibility

TinkerTools is developed with performance and Blizzard UI compatibility in mind.

Features are kept focused, unnecessary work is avoided where practical, and the addon is maintained as Blizzard changes the Retail UI and addon APIs.

TinkerTools also supports the **Enhanced Diagnostics** protocol when Addon Diagnostics is installed, allowing deeper troubleshooting information when needed without making normal TinkerTools operation dependent on the diagnostics addon.
