Addon Diagnostics

Addon Diagnostics is a user-controlled diagnostic recorder for World of Warcraft Retail. It is designed to help players, addon developers, and support teams reproduce addon or UI problems and turn a short test session into structured diagnostic evidence that can be reviewed before it leaves the game.

What Addon Diagnostics Does

• Records explicit start/stop diagnostic sessions.

• Lets you mark the moment a problem occurs during a recording.

• Captures bounded environment, Lua-error, and performance evidence relevant to the session.

• Accepts additional Enhanced Diagnostics evidence from cooperating addons where supported.

• Builds a session timeline from the evidence that was actually captured.

• Reports integrity and truncation information so missing or bounded evidence is visible rather than hidden.

• Sanitizes captured evidence before report presentation.

• Produces a selectable diagnostic report for the user to inspect and copy.

• Provides bounded recorder self-health and footprint information.

• Includes test-loadout controls to help isolate addon interactions during troubleshooting.

Addon Diagnostics does not silently upload or submit diagnostic reports. Report inspection and copying remain explicit user actions.

Basic Use

Open the Addon Diagnostics window from its compact in-game HUD or the user-assigned Toggle Addon Diagnostics key binding.

1. Select Start Recorder before reproducing the problem.

2. Reproduce the issue in game.

3. Use Mark Problem Now when a useful problem moment occurs.

4. Stop the recorder when the reproduction is complete.

5. Open the report preview.

6. Review the sanitized report and copy it when you are ready to share it.

Addon Diagnostics also provides /ad and /addondiagnostics commands for supported recorder actions.

Addon Diagnostics is intended for players troubleshooting addon or UI behavior and for developers or support teams who need clearer reproduction evidence without relying on unrestricted data collection.

Compatibility

Addon Diagnostics is a World of Warcraft Retail addon.

Specific supported game versions are declared with each public release based on the exact verified release candidate. A development build or listing preparation state should not be interpreted as public compatibility or release authorization.

Installation and Updates

Once a public release is available, install or update Addon Diagnostics through its supported CurseForge or Wago distribution page. Public vendor files will come from the same verified Rootforth release package rather than separately rebuilt vendor packages.
