Thumber

v1.6.0 (2026-10-22)

Full Changelog Previous Releases

  • Release 1.6.0: ten languages, profile export/import, group alert fires only when the marked player arrives
    Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 noreply@anthropic.com
  • Reword the keybinding names as actions on the target in every language
The three marking keybinding names read as a noun in genitive in ruRU
("Palec vverkh celi"); they are now "Mark target: <mark>" in all ten languages.
    Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 noreply@anthropic.com
  • Localize Thumber into the ten WoW client languages
Every player-visible string goes through ns.L (English text is the key; a missing
translation falls back to the English). Locales/Locale.lua defines L, and one file
per language (deDE frFR esES esMX ptBR ruRU koKR zhCN zhTW itIT) holds 290 entries
guarded by GetLocale(). Title-/Notes- lines added to the TOC.
Messages built from fragments are now whole sentences, the share/profile wire
formats are untouched, and Blizzard globals (ACCEPT, DECLINE, CANCEL, PARTY) are
used where they exist. Dialogs, rows, pills and buttons size to their text so
    longer languages fit.
    Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 noreply@anthropic.com
  • Fix: the group alert fires only when the marked player arrives
A roster update used to forget everyone it could not read at that instant, and
party slots shift and names are briefly unreadable while members join or leave,
so a marked player already announced was announced again on the next change.
Now someone is forgotten only after a scan in which the whole roster was
readable and they were not in it.

  • Add profile export/import: every setting, position and keybind in one string
/thumber profile (and a Profile page in the settings window) copies all of
Thumber's setup as THUMBERPROFILE:1:..., and applies it from another character
    or install.
    • Covers every option, the positions of the marks window, the alert and the
minimap button, the last settings page, and the four keybinds (read and
written through WoW's binding system, since they are not in the saved data).
Marks are not part of a profile; they keep their own sharing.
    • Import is two steps: Check validates the tags, version and every value against
what the settings window allows (type, slider range, choice list, anchor
points, key names), reports what it holds and how many entries were skipped,
and Apply puts the covered settings back to the defaults before setting the
profile's, so the result is the same setup. Everything redraws live. The
minimap button's table is filled in place. Keybinds are left alone in combat.
    • Audit: the saved variables hold marks (separate sharing), 18 options (all
covered), three positions, the settings page, and one internal flag. There is
      no per-character or per-spec data.
