What's new

Changelog

1.0.2 - Taint fix, for real

  • The Thousand Knives page in Options -> AddOns is now drawn entirely by Thousand Knives (the same controls as its own window) instead of from the game's settings rows. Those rows are read by the Options search and their frames are reused for Blizzard's own options, so typing in the search box or scrolling to Social -> Discord set off "blocked from an action only available to the Blizzard UI"
  • Thousand Knives no longer shows up in Options search results (search only covers list-style pages)

1.0.1 - Taint fix

  • Fixed "ThousandKnives has been blocked from an action only available to the Blizzard UI" when searching or browsing the game's Options window
  • The nameplate preview now floats beside the Options window instead of sitting inside it (the in-list row tainted Blizzard's settings panel)
  • Opening settings from the minimap button or /knives no longer closes Blizzard's panels from addon code
  • "Hide Blizzard's points" now makes them invisible instead of hiding the frame, and turning it off brings them back right away

1.0.0 - Initial release

  • For Forever's built-in UI only, so the classic look stays intact: nameplate dots sit on Forever's own nameplates, not on nameplate addons
  • Nameplate dots default to centered (Dot left / right is 0)
  • Big, clear combo points for rogues, in one movable bar
  • Four layouts: a straight Row, a gentle Arc, a Fan spread from below, or a looser Stagger; points tilt to follow the shape, and every effect follows
  • The Forever style (the default) uses the game's own combo point art: gems pop in with Blizzard's ring of light and star, burst off on finishers, and glow when full, so it looks like part of Forever's UI
  • Two hand-drawn themed styles: worn, bloodied Daggers, and Cuts
  • Optional dots under your target's nameplate, in Forever's own combo point art: size, height and left/right settings, a preview in the settings page rebuilt from your real nameplate at its true size, and the dots shown live on your target while the settings are open (Nameplate settings, or /knives plate). When your target casts, the dots step down (by "Drop while casting", from the game's cast events, so it works whichever addon draws the cast bar), then back up; after an interrupt they wait a moment, so you can see who kicked it. They animate like the Forever style: gems pop in, and burst off on a finisher
  • Empty cuts show as healed scars, so empty slots are easy to see
  • An opacity slider for the whole bar
  • Colors: each style's own, Build-up (yellow to red), Gold, or Gold that turns green when full
  • Points land their own way: Forever's gems pop in, daggers stab in and quiver, cuts slice open behind a glint of wire
  • Every finisher pays off (Eviscerate, Slice and Dice, Rupture, Kidney Shot, Expose Armor...): Forever's gems burst off, daggers fly toward your target, and the cuts gush
  • Shows exactly the points on your current target: switch back to a mob and its points return; a dead target or no target shows none
  • A red shake warns you when a builder lands on a full bar (a wasted point)
  • The bar sinks into shadow while you're stealthed
  • A full bar shimmers now and then (or pulses, glows, or does nothing)
  • Every effect has its own switch, plus Calm and Lively presets
  • Optional big number next to the points
  • Optional sound when your points are full
  • Show always, only in combat (or while you have points), or hidden
  • Can hide Blizzard's own combo points on the target frame
  • Test mode to preview everything without a target
  • Minimap button: settings, move the bar, test
  • Works in dungeons and raids, where Forever hides the combo point count from addons: the points still show in every style (effects pause there)
  • Dock under Forever's Personal Resource Display or the target frame, or place it anywhere
  • Moves with Forever's Edit Mode, alongside Blizzard's own frames
  • Settings live in Options > AddOns, built from the game's own controls: a main page, with Nameplate, Effects and Extras subpages
