What's new

Changelog
2.41.7
Snapshots record the HUD layout the game actually has active, read from the game's own record rather than the Edit Mode window. A snapshot taken while a preset (Modern, Classic) is in use now says so in its contents ("HUD layout 'Modern' (a preset)"), and applying it says it switched to that preset.
2.41.6
Snapshots: the HUD layout is made active more firmly. Switching to the layout now also saves it as the active one (so it's the one loaded after the reload), and Thicc UI checks with the game that it took; if the game kept another layout, the report says so. /tuisnap hud shows the snapshot's layout, Edit Mode's layouts, which one the game has active, and what the last apply did.
2.41.5
Snapshots now import the HUD layout. A layout the character doesn't have yet is added to Edit Mode and made active (it shows after the reload Thicc UI asks for); your other layouts are left as they are. Before, you only got its text to paste into Edit Mode's Import yourself. That's still the fallback when it can't be added (for example no room for another layout), and the report says why.
2.41.4
Fixed: the Talent Planner drew a Warlock's trees wrong (an extra row on top of Affliction, so every Affliction talent asked for 5 points too many). The planner now takes its trees from the game's own tree groups, the way Forever's talent window does, with the game's names, icons and order; and a talent drawn slightly higher or lower than the rest of its row stays in that row. Classes whose trees already looked right are unaffected.
2.41.3
Snapshots: another class's action bars are applied too (they were skipped). What only that class has is left out: spells this character's class can't learn (a spell its trainer teaches waits until it's learned) and the other class's stance/form/stealth bars. Items, macros and shared spells go where they were. On a Warrior, the main bar also goes on each stance's bar (a Warrior is always in a stance); from a Warrior's snapshot, its Battle Stance bar fills the main bar. Keybinds, macros and settings already applied across classes.
2.41.2
Fixed: the Dungeon Journal didn't open on the boss you had targeted inside a dungeon. There the game hides a creature's name and ID from addons, so the journal now works it out from the boss fight in progress (or just won, for a dead boss you're looting), or from the target's level when only one boss of the dungeon you're in has it. With the journal already open, targeting a boss now shows it. /tuidj target says which boss it found and how.
2.41.1
Every build now has its own version number, so you can tell which zip is the latest.
New: Dungeon Journal stats (a tick in the journal's Loot box, off by default): how many times you've killed each boss and seen each of its items drop (all your characters), with Wowhead's published drop rate beside yours ("Wowhead 38%   Seen 2/3 (67%)"; both in full in the item's tooltip). A two-click Reset stats button; /tuidj stats prints a summary.
2.41.0
New: Dungeon Journal. Every Forever dungeon in one window, by level (28 dungeons and wings, from Ragefire Chasm to Stratholme and Upper Blackrock Spire, with 220+ dungeon quests): each boss with its portrait, level and loot (point at an item for its tooltip, Shift to compare, Ctrl-click to try it on; a green tick when one of your characters has it), and your faction's dungeon quests with where they start and end, the level you need, the quests to do first (done / in your log / to do, each with who gives it and a map pin), rewards and XP, and Share. Show on Map opens the zone in front of the journal with a pin on the quest giver or the entrance; Find a group opens the Group Finder searching for that dungeon; optional breadcrumb quests are left out; the Ruins of Lordaeron has an Alliance route guide. Where Forever hasn't shown a boss's drops yet, its Classic loot table is shown and marked as such. A search box finds a boss or an item (by name, or a kind such as "bow" or "finger"): the list keeps only the dungeons with a match, and the Bosses page only the matching bosses and items. Optional minimap button of its own. Opens on the dungeon you're in, on the boss you have targeted, or where you left off (dungeon and boss, even after a reload). /tuidj ("/tuidj dm" for a dungeon), a key binding, or the Radial Menu. Its own page, on by default; switched off, its data is never loaded.
Fixed: Escape didn't close the options window (since 2.40.5, with "key bindings while the options window is open" on). It closes it again.
Custom Tooltips: Target. Pointing at a player or NPC shows who they're targeting ("You" in red when it's you; players in their class colour). A tick on the Custom Tooltips page, on by default.
2.40.5
Fixed: a cleared keybind came back as a second key after logging in. At login (and after every loading screen) Action Keybinds now learns your keys from the game instead of putting back the ones it remembered; nothing can have moved on your bars while you were away.
Fixed: Talent Planner tooltips always showed a talent's last rank. They now show its text at the rank you've planned, and the next rank's, like the game's talent window.
Fixed: shift-click All in the log book tracked but never untracked. The game only lets you track a few quests at once, so "every quest tracked" never happened; at the limit, shift-click now untracks them all.
Fixed: sharing a quest from the log book in combat made the game block it and blame Thicc UI. In combat the share now waits and happens when combat ends.
Log book: each quest shows its level ("[12] Quest name"; a tick on the Classic Appearances page), and quests are coloured by the game's own difficulty for you, as its quest log does.
New: your key bindings work while the options window is open (character window, bags, map...); Escape still closes it. A tick on the Window Control page, on by default.
2.40.4
Fixed: the Talent Planner showed a Hunter four trees, named "Hunter", "Tree 2", "Tree 3" and "Tree 4". A tree with an empty column was split in two, leaving one talent in a tree of its own; it's back in its tree. Trees the game doesn't name are named after the class's Classic trees (Beast Mastery, Marksmanship, Survival...), with their icons.
2.40.3
Another character's gear now shows its model, of its race and sex, wearing its recorded gear (drag to turn it). The game can't draw another character's own face and hair. Log into each character once so its race is recorded.
Fixed: that view was darkened. Nothing covers the slots any more; your own model, item level box and durability icon are hidden instead while you look.
Shorter label for the enchant icon option.
2.40.2
New: enchant icons. Each equipment slot that can be enchanted gets a small icon: the enchanting icon when it's enchanted, a red cross when it isn't. Point at it for the enchant. On your character window, the inspect window and other characters' gear (a tick on the Gear/Item Manager page, on by default).
New: see another character's gear in your character window. A button on the character window's title bar picks one of your characters; the window shows what it wears (as of the last time you played it), with its name, level, class and item level. Pick yourself or close the window to go back. Part of Alt Inventory (a tick on its page).
Fixed: no item level or "BoE" in the game's bank window. WoW: Forever's bank window is built differently from the old one; its slots are now found and kept labelled while the bank is open.
Fixed: the item tooltip's "Item Level" line was only hidden for single-digit levels.
2.40.1
Fixed: no "BoE" in Alt Inventory's bank window (and another character's bags). Alt Inventory now records whether each item is bound, so those windows show "BoE" too. Open each character's bank once to update it.
The overall item level tick's label is shorter.
2.40.0
Gear Swap is now Gear/Item Manager.
New: "BoE" on Bind-on-Equip items in your bags and bank that aren't bound yet (a tick on the Gear/Item Manager page, on by default).
Item levels only on gear. The item level on bag, loot and inspect icons now shows only on items that go in an equipment slot, whoever can wear them. The game's own "Item Level" line on tooltips is also hidden on crafting materials and other non-gear items (a tick, on by default).
Removed: the slot glow as gear wears out. The durability icon stays.
2.39.0
New: Custom Tooltips. Extra lines on a player's tooltip: their guild rank, and their item level, shown as the average or the total of what they wear (your choice). Your own is worked out at once; someone else's is asked of the game the way the inspect window does (out of combat, in range, never while the inspect window is open, at most every 1.5 seconds), shows "..." for a moment, and is remembered for 10 minutes. Like every feature, it can be switched off completely.
Gear Swap: average or total for the item level in the character window and the inspect window (Show as under the overall item level tick). Pointing at it still gives both.
2.38.2
Settings pages tidied into framed boxes, like Gear Swap's: Last Cast Ability (Flash and flyout, Icon), Window Control (Windows, Grid), Flight Tracker (Bar, Learned flight times), Elite Overlay (Which dragon to show), Alt Inventory (Recording, Showing) and Classic Appearances (Quest log, Social window). Each box sizes itself to what's in it.
2.38.1
Fixed: sliders and their number boxes were empty (no knob, no value) the first time you opened a settings page (Flight Tracker, Last Cast Ability, Window Control, Nameplates+...). Pages now fill in their values when they're built and whenever the options window refreshes them.
A switched-off feature's page says what the feature does, so you can decide whether to switch it on.
Action Keybinds: its second on/off tick is gone; the tick beside its name does it. (If it ever switches itself off to protect your keys, it's that tick it unticks.)
Gear Swap page: options grouped in framed boxes (Gear Swap, Item level, Durability). The Gear Swap row tick is gone: the numbers in the row follow Character window.
2.38.0
Switch any feature off completely. Every feature's settings page has a tick beside its name. Untick it and the feature stops straight away (its windows, buttons and key bindings go) and you're offered a reload. After the reload nothing of it starts: its settings aren't loaded, it makes no windows, gets no events and hooks nothing, and its page is just its name and the tick. Ticking it again needs a reload (offered at once). `/thicc features` lists what's on and off. The old "Show ..." / "Enabled" ticks of Elite Overlay, Flight Tracker, Last Cast Ability, Mobile Trainer and Radial Menu are this tick now (your setting carries over).
Less memory: only your own class's built-in trainer list is kept (none when Mobile Trainer and Radial Menu are both off).
Settings pages in alphabetical order. Window Move & Resize is now Window Control.
Gear Swap page: Only while holding Alt is gone. Item level on each icon is now the Gear Swap row tick among the "Item level on gear in" ticks, and the total item level tick comes right after them.
Inspect window: their item level total is placed like yours, level with the model's zoom / reset buttons in the gap beside them (the side where it fits).
2.37.1
Talent Planner button lined up with the talent window's Apply Changes button (same height, centred in the bottom bar).
Character window: the item level and the durability icon sit in the gaps either side of the model's zoom / rotate / reset buttons, level with them and centred between the buttons and the slots.
Inspect window: their item level total sits a little lower.
2.37.0
Gear Swap: the weapon row opens downwards. Pointing at the main hand, off hand or ranged slot now shows what fits below the slot, so the slot's own tooltip no longer covers it.
Choose where item levels show. On the Gear Swap page, "Item level on gear in:" has a tick each for the character window, bags (also the bank and another character's bags), loot windows (the loot window and need/greed rolls) and the inspect window.
Inspect window total. With the inspect tick on, the inspected player's item level is shown at the top left of their character, the same spot as on yours (point at it for the total).
Character window: your gear's item level moved to the top left of your character (beside the head slot) and the durability icon to the top right (beside the hands slot).
2.36.7
Alt Inventory works with separate bags (one window per bag):
The two buttons sit at the bottom left of the backpack's window, beside your money. Its title bar is too narrow for them, and they covered "Backpack".
Another character's bags widen the backpack window to the Combined Backpack's 10 columns, instead of one very tall column. Your own other bag windows (keyring, herb pouch...) are put away meanwhile and open again when you go back to your own bags.
The "as of" date no longer runs into the money.
2.36.6
Fixed: another character's bags had an empty strip on the right. They were laid out 9 slots wide where the game's bag window shows 10. They now use the same number of columns as the game's own bags (its own setting where the game provides one), centred like its slots.
2.36.5
The bank window fits the bank: no empty space beside or below the slots. A very large bank scrolls.
Smaller bag window buttons that sit inside the title bar.
Fixed: another character's gold showed as 0. At login the game can report 0 before your money arrives, and that 0 was saved over the real amount. A 0 now only counts when your money actually changes.
Money shows the game's coin icons (gold, silver, copper) instead of g/s/c.
2.36.4
The bag window fits the other character's bags. It grows or shrinks to their bags while you look at them, and goes back to its own size when you return to yours.
The bank window goes with your bags. Closing your bags (B) closes it too, and opening them again brings it back where it was. If you close the bank window yourself, it stays closed.
Only the bank a character really has. Bank bag slots not bought, a locked reagent bank and tabs not bought no longer show as rows of empty slots. Open each character's bank once to update it. `/tuiinv debug` lists the bank's parts as recorded.
2.36.3
Fixed: the Alt Inventory buttons couldn't be clicked. Thicc UI's own invisible strip for dragging windows by their title bar lay over them and took the clicks. Buttons on a title bar are now kept above that strip.
Fixed: that drag strip rose 50 frame levels higher every time a window opened (it counted itself when working out how high to sit).
2.36.2
Fixed: the Alt Inventory buttons were hidden under the bag window's title bar. On WoW: Forever the Combined Backpack's border and title art is drawn very high up (frame level 500), above the buttons. They're now raised above it every time the bags open.
2.36.1
Fixed: no Alt Inventory buttons on the bag window. Thicc UI looked for the bag window only once, at login, and on WoW: Forever it isn't there yet. It now looks again every time bags are opened and whenever the game loads more of its interface, and it also recognises the Combined Backpack by what it is and by its search box. `/tuiinv debug` lists the bag windows it found.
Fixed: the bag window's search box wasn't followed when the game had no separate bag search box.
2.36.0
Alt Inventory lives in the game's own bag window now. Two buttons on its title bar, after the portrait:
Characters: a drop-down of your characters. Pick one and the bag window shows its bags, laid out as one bag like the Combined Backpack, with its name in the title and its money. The bag window's search box searches them too. Pick yourself again, or close the bags, to go back to your own. The x beside a character forgets it (click twice).
Bank: opens the picked character's bank in its own window beside the bags, also as one bag.
Tooltips read "how many (where)": e.g. "Thiccbush   11 (Bags 3, Bank 5, Mailbox 2, Auction 1)", then the total.
Each character's money is remembered.
2.35.0
New: Alt Inventory. Thicc UI remembers every character you log into and what it has: bags, gear, bank (open the bank once on each character), mailbox and auctions. Items you mail to one of your own characters count in its mailbox straight away.
Item tooltips say where else you have it: one line per character (for example "Thiccbush: Bank (5), Mail (1)") and the total. Shown when you have the item anywhere other than the bags and gear of the character you're on.
A bag button on the bag window's title bar (or `/tuiinv`) opens a window with any of your characters' bags; its button switches to their banks. Use < > to pick the character. Forget removes a deleted or renamed character.
Settings on the new Alt Inventory page.
Character window: the durability icon is now slot-sized under the second trinket, and the item level sits under the wrist slot, both lined up with the weapon row.
Gear Swap: the left-hand slots now open their row to the left, so the slot's own tooltip no longer covers it. The blank slot is always the one next to the slot you point at.
2.34.0
Durability icon moved into the character window, just under the second trinket slot. It no longer floats on the screen.
Item level of your gear beside it: the average item level of what you're wearing. Point at it for the average and the total of every piece. Can be turned off on the Gear Swap page.
Gear Swap: no more "Nothing in your bags for this slot" note. With nothing else that fits, you just see the blank slot.
Fixed: rogues couldn't Gear Swap to one-hand axes. Rogues can use them on WoW: Forever. Any weapon skill in your character's skills list now also counts, so a weapon your class learns there shows up.
2.33.0
Durability at a glance. A small armour icon (drag it anywhere; right-click and hold to resize) shows your most worn piece's durability. Point at it for every piece's durability in percent: Head, Shoulder, Chest, Wrist, Hands, Waist, Legs, Feet and your weapons, with Broken for anything at 0%.
Worn gear glows in the character window. A slot glows yellow at 50% durability or less, orange at 25% or less and red at 10% or less (and when broken). The icon glows in the colour of your most worn piece. A slot with a queued Gear Swap keeps its gold glow. Both can be turned off on the Gear Swap page.
2.32.0
Gear Swap: swaps picked while you're dead wait for you. Click an item (or the blank slot) while dead and nothing changes yet: the choice is queued and done once you're alive and out of combat, with a chat line for each. Armour picked in combat waits for the end of combat the same way (weapons still swap straight away, as the game allows). A queued choice glows gold in the row and on the character window's slot; click it again to cancel, or pick something else for that slot to replace it. If a queued item has left your bags by then, chat says so.
2.31.0
Gear Swap: a blank slot to take gear off. Pointing at an equipment slot in the character window now always shows a blank slot first in the row, even when nothing in your bags fits. Click it to take off what you're wearing there and wear nothing in that slot; the item goes into a free space in your bags. When nothing is worn in the slot it's dimmed and does nothing, and if your bags are full chat says so.
2.30.3
Group Finder: double-click a listing to invite. Double-clicking a player on their own invites them; double-clicking a group asks its leader for an invite (the same as the Invite / Request Invite button). It used to open a whisper; Send Message still does that.
2.30.2
Fixed: a Lua error "FontString:SetText(): Font not set" (NameplatesPlus.lua) at login in 2.30.1. The level number on the preview nameplate was created without a font. Every text on the Nameplates+ page, the target labels and the Elite Overlay's level copy now get a font the moment they're made.
2.30.1
The Nameplates+ preview looks like a real WoW: Forever nameplate: the name in white above a dark health bar with a gold border and a red fill, and a gold-bordered level box to its right. The faint box that showed the nameplate's invisible frame is gone. Still drawn to scale for your nameplate size, with the combo points, resource number and target label in place.
2.30.0
Nameplates+ settings are per character. Combo points, the resource number and the target label are saved for each character separately, so your rogue and your priest can each have their own setup. The first time each character logs in, it starts from the nameplate settings you had before, so nothing is lost.
Combo points start switched off on classes that don't use them (everything except Rogues and Druids). You can still tick them on.
Energy is now called Resource, since it shows whatever your main resource is (Energy, Rage, Mana...).
Preview wording: the preview nameplate is called "Enemy", and its label says "Target" (shown in the colour the label would really use).
Snapshots carry your nameplate settings, so applying a snapshot on another character (beta to live, say) gives it the same setup.
2.29.1
Nameplates+ page: no more gap under the tabs. Each tab's settings now start right under the tab buttons (they were pushed about 200 px down the page).
The preview is one nameplate: your target, with its combo points, energy and target label together, so you see exactly how they fit. The label shows "You" (or, with that off, a party member's name in their class colour).
2.29.0
Combo Points and Energy are now part of Nameplates+. The separate Combo Points page is gone; there's one Nameplates+ page in the list.
Three ticks at the top switch each feature on or off: Combo Points, Energy and Target Label. Use any mix.
One preview shows everything you have switched on, together and to scale: your target's nameplate with its pips, energy number and label, next to a second nameplate targeting a party member (one nameplate since 2.29.1).
Tabs under the ticks show one feature's settings at a time (the page has to fit the options window). Reset to defaults resets all three nameplate features and nothing on other pages.
Energy works without the pips. It shows your main resource (Energy, Rage, Mana...) for any class, and it stays where it would sit next to the pips even when they're switched off. Its offsets are the pip row's; they're on both tabs.
Your combo point and energy settings carry over unchanged.
2.28.0
New: Nameplates+. A new settings page (right under Combo Points) for extras on the game's nameplates. More will be added here over time; the first one is the target label: every nameplate shows who that unit is targeting, so you can see at a glance which mobs are on the tank, on a healer, or on you.
Adjust the text size, colour, and position (above, below, left or right of the nameplate, plus horizontal and vertical offsets), with a to-scale preview like the Combo Points page.
Players are shown in their class colour (can be turned off), and when a mob is targeting you it says You in its own colour (red by default; can be turned off).
Optionally show it only on your own target's nameplate.
In combat the game may hide names from add-ons; the name is still shown whenever the game lets it be drawn. `/tuiplates` opens the page; `/tuiplates debug` lists the nameplates on screen and what was read for each.
2.27.14
Fixed: a Lua error "Usage: SaveBindings(1|2)" from Action Keybinds. Right after login (or while the game was still loading your key bindings) the game can report that no account or character keybinding set is active yet, and Thicc UI tried to save to it anyway. Keybinds now save only to your real account or character set; if there isn't one yet, the save waits for the next bindings change. The radial menu's key and a snapshot's keybinds use the same safe save (a snapshot says so if the keys could only be applied for this session).
2.27.13
Profiles removed. Snapshots already export and import your Thicc UI settings on their own, so the Profiles page is gone. Thicc UI now has one set of settings: the profile you were using becomes it. Applying a snapshot's Thicc UI settings now replaces your settings with the snapshot's instead of adding "(imported)" profiles. The previous settings are kept once in the saved settings, just in case.
Radial menu: the combat rings are gone. This removes both the hold-a-key ring (Ctrl/Shift/Alt) and the older page-flip rings (`/tuiradial combat`, `/tuiradial hold`). In combat the ring still opens as usual. Windows, markers and tracking work there; spells, items and macros wait until combat ends.
Radial menu: Global rings. The tick box on each ring's row (it was Combat) is now Global. Tick it and that ring, with its name, contents and key, is shared by all your characters. Every character gets it, added after its own rings, and a change on one shows on all. Untick it and it goes back to being this character's only; your other characters no longer have it. Deleting a global ring deletes it everywhere. `/tuiradial debug` lists which rings are global.
2.27.12
Radial menu: Find Herbs, Find Minerals and other tracking. A new Tracking button in the ring editor lists your minimap tracking, with the Find ones first (Find Herbs, Find Minerals, Find Treasure, Find Fish) and then the rest (flight masters, repairs...). Picking one in the ring switches it on or off, in combat too.
Radial menu: raid and world markers fixed. Raid markers now go through the game's own /tm command with a secure click, as world markers (/wm) already did. Marking from add-on code did nothing on WoW: Forever. If a marker still can't work, chat says why: world markers need a party or raid, and a raid marker needs a target.
2.27.11
PSA: WoW: Forever has fixed addon saving. A gold box at the top of the main Thicc UI options page explains that Thicc UI now saves its settings the normal way. The 'ThiccUI Save' and 'ThiccUI Rings' macros are no longer needed and can be deleted (Esc > Macros: the General tab and each character's own tab). The box shows how many are left, or "all clear". The same PSA appears in chat once at login while any of those macros are still there.
2.27.10
Radial menu professions: the open profession window is no longer closed first. Your debug logs pointed the way. WoW: Forever's profession window switches properly when a profession is cast while it's open; that's why a second pick always landed on the right one. Only a window opened from closed comes up on the first profession tab (after the first open of a session). Thicc UI was closing the open window before every cast, so every switch became an open-from-closed and landed on that tab. Now switching between professions with the window open works in one go. Opening from closed after the first time is still the game's own behaviour: it may land on the first tab, and a second pick puts it right.
2.27.9
Fixed: a Lua error (SecureTemplates.lua:562) when picking a profession from the radial menu. The profession window's side tabs aren't buttons, so they can't be clicked from an add-on the way 2.27.8 tried. Professions are cast again. If a tab turns out to carry its own spell, that spell is cast instead.
The previous profession's window is still closed first.
`/tuiradial debug` now shows what each side tab carries, to work out how the window picks its tab.
2.27.8
Radial menu professions use the window's own side tabs. Your /fstack screenshots gave the tab names: ProfessionsFrame.Professions1Tab, Professions2Tab... Once the profession window has been opened, picking a profession in the ring clicks that profession's tab. That's a secure click, exactly like clicking it by hand, and it's what the window remembers. Casting the profession never changed the tab it reopened on, which is why it kept landing on the second tab. Before the window has been opened in a session, the profession is cast as before.
Tabs are matched to your professions by their icon, or by a name or skill line the tab carries.
`/tuiradial debug` lists each tab and what it matched.
2.27.7
Fixed: "the game blocked a call to UNKNOWN()" after picking a profession. 2.27.6 switched the profession window with a call that WoW: Forever reserves for its own windows, so it was blocked and nothing changed. That call is gone, and so is its use in the in-combat fallback.
Profession tabs, a new approach: while the profession window is open, picking a profession in the radial menu now clicks that profession's own side tab in the window. That's a secure click, the same as clicking it yourself. With the window closed it's cast as before. `/tuiradial debug` lists the window's side tabs it found.
2.27.6
Fixed: a profession from the radial menu opened on the wrong tab (the second one). Your screenshots and `/tuiradial debug` showed the cause. When a profession opens, WoW: Forever's profession window opens your other professions one after another while it sets up its side tabs (Skinning, Cooking, Leatherworking...), and it's left on the second tab whichever one you picked. Now, once the game has finished opening things, the window is switched to the profession you picked, the same way its side tab does. This works whether you let go of the key or click the icon, happens once per pick, and never in combat.
Pointing at a profession no longer closes your open profession window (2.27.5); the window closes only when you pick one.
2.27.5
Radial menu professions, second try: it worked the first time but not after. 2.27.4 closed the open profession window at the same moment it cast the new profession, which could leave the new window on the wrong page. The first pick worked because there was nothing to close. Now, while you hold the key, pointing at a profession closes the other profession's window straight away, well before you let go and it's cast. `/tuiradial debug` also lists the last few things that happened: windows closed, professions cast, and what the game opened.
2.27.4
Fixed: picking a profession from the radial menu often took two goes. When you let go of the key over a profession, another profession's open window wasn't closed first; a mouse click already did this. So the cast only closed that window or left it showing, and it took a second go to reach the profession you picked. Letting go of the key now does the same as a click. Also, when it can't tell which profession a window is showing, that window is closed too, so the one you picked opens. `/tuiradial debug` shows what happened the last time.
2.27.3
Fixed: a snapshot's keybinds didn't make the keys match. The snapshot's keys were added to the ones this character already had instead of replacing them. So after copying a priest's keys onto a rogue, button 4 still showed the rogue's 0 (the priest's Shift-W was there too), and buttons with no key on the priest kept the rogue's (T, 7).
Now every command in the snapshot ends up with exactly the snapshot's keys, and an action bar button with no key in the snapshot loses its key.
Commands the snapshot doesn't mention (outside the action bars) are left alone, and basic keys are still protected.
Action Keybinds then learns again from the new keys, so a later bar change can't move the old ones back.
2.27.2
Addon settings are saved by the game now, so the Keep Settings page is gone from the options and a normal login says nothing about saving. Thicc UI no longer reads or writes its 'ThiccUI Save' / 'ThiccUI Rings' macros; you can delete them. If the game ever fails to load your settings, a chat line says so. `/thiccsave` shows whether they were loaded.
2.27.1 (save test build)
Fixed: a character could get another character's radial rings (e.g. the rogue loading the priest's "Buffs" ring). The shared ring storage came into play in two ways:
Until a character's own rings were set up at login, the rings came from the profile, which every character shares. Anything edited then went there too.
A character with no rings of its own yet was started from a copy of that shared set.
Now every character gets its own rings the moment its name is known, and a new character starts from the default ring.
Fixed (normal build): a character's ring macros could be written over at login. The account macros can arrive before the character's own. Read too early, the character's 'ThiccUI Rings' macros looked empty, so the character started from other rings and its macros were overwritten. Now they're read only once they've arrived (or after 15 seconds if the character has none), and never written before that.
Still the save test build: settings aren't kept in macros (see 2.27.0).
2.27.0 (save test build)
Save test build: are addon settings saved now? It's said that WoW: Forever now loads addon settings properly. This build doesn't use the 'ThiccUI Save' / 'ThiccUI Rings' macros at all, to find out. Settings and radial rings are kept only in the game's own saved settings.
At every login a chat line says whether the game LOADED Thicc UI's saved settings or did NOT. `/thiccsave` and the Keep Settings page say the same.
Your existing macros are left exactly as they are. If the answer is NOT, go back to 2.26.17 and everything is read from them as before.
2.26.17
Party frames removed. The game's Edit Mode can turn on raid-style party frames, which do the same job, so Thicc UI's own party frames are gone. That includes the Party Frames and Party Auras pages and `/tuiparty`. The game's own party frames come back automatically. Their saved settings are cleared so they don't take room in your saved settings. The code is kept in an archive in case it's wanted again.
2.26.16
Group Finder: sort by any column. Click Leader, Lvl, Activity or Roles to sort by it; click the same heading again to reverse the order. An arrow shows which column and which way.
Group Finder: Notify me, second try.
A due search now also runs on your next key press of any kind (a listener that passes every key straight on to the game, and only listens while a search is due) and on any mouse click, as well as on action buttons and movement.
It says in chat, once, when the first background check is answered ("Notify me is watching"). If three in a row get no answer, it says that too.
`/tuilfg debug` shows how many background checks were answered and how many weren't.
Fixed: Action Keybinds didn't always follow.
With the same ability on two bars (say bar 1 and bar 4), the keys went to the first copy. Now the copy you bound keeps its keys and takes them along when you move it.
A key that used to belong to an action no longer on your bars blocked the action you gave it to next: that key was never picked up, and the old action took it back if you put it on a bar again.
Mounts, flyouts and equipment sets now carry their keys too. Before, their key stayed on the slot and the next thing dropped there took it over.
2.26.15
Fixed: Group Finder's Notify me never told you anything. The game quietly ignores a Looking for Group search an add-on starts on a timer (it has to come from a key press or a click), so the searches every 20 seconds found nothing new. Now, when a search is due, it waits for your next key press or click (an action button, moving, turning, clicking in the world) and searches then. If you're away from the keyboard it tries on its own 10 seconds later. A background search that fails no longer prints a chat line every time. `/tuilfg debug` shows how many background searches ran, when the last results arrived, and any failure reason.
2.26.14
Party frames: hide buffs and debuffs you don't want to see. On the Party Auras page, type a spell's name (or its spell ID) under Hidden buffs & debuffs and press Hide. Every rank of it is gone from the party frames, and the next buff or debuff takes its place. Each hidden spell is listed with an X to show it again. Also `/tuiparty hide <name>`, `/tuiparty unhide <name>` and `/tuiparty hidden`. An icon's tooltip tells you the command to hide it. The list is kept with your settings.
2.26.13
Party frames: your own buffs in combat stick.
A buff you cast went missing whenever the game gave back only some of a member's buffs mid-fight: that partial list replaced the frame's list and dropped your cast. Your own casts are now kept until their time runs out.
When the game doesn't name who you cast on, it's the member you were pointing at (a click on their frame or a mouseover macro), else your target. Only after that does it look at whose buffs changed.
A harmful spell (Smite, Shadow Word: Pain...) no longer leaves its target behind for your next buff.
Power Word: Shield always shows Weakened Soul. Each Shield you cast in combat also puts Weakened Soul (15 seconds) on that member's debuffs.
2.26.12
Group Finder: Notify me. Click Notify me (top right; it's off each time you log in) and close the window. Every 20 seconds it searches again for the dungeons you ticked. When someone new is listed who passes your filters, a sound plays and the window opens, straight away or as soon as you leave combat. The chat line says who. Click it again to stop. If the game won't let add-ons search in the background, it says so once and stops trying.
2.26.11
Fixed: Group Finder showed a group member's old roles. A member's assigned role in their group is what counts, as in the game's own list. A shaman who used to tank and now plays DPS showed as both; he now shows as DPS, and your group reads 1 healer, 3 DPS as in the game. A group's icons are in the game's order: tanks, healers, then DPS. Players listed on their own still show every role they'd fill.
2.26.10
Group Finder: "Use this instead of the game's Group Browser". The option that used to catch only the game's Looking for Group key now also catches the game's own window: opening it on its Group Browser (its key, the menu or its Browse tab) closes it and opens ours. The game's window still opens normally on its listing tab to list yourself, and when you open it from our List yourself... button it isn't swapped until you close it. `/tuilfg debug` says whether the game's Group Browser was found.
The Group Finder settings page says you can right-click the Thicc UI minimap button (or type /tuilfg) to open it, and no longer mentions a Search button.
2.26.9
Group Finder tidy-up:
The Your listing box is laid out cleanly: status on the first line, a one-line note under it, and the button centred on the right.
The Game's window button is gone; List yourself... opens the game's window.
Clear filters no longer runs off the filter box (the class icons are a little smaller).
The filter box title no longer repeats "updates live", since the top line already says so.
2.26.8
Fixed: "Interface action failed because of an AddOn" when listing yourself in the Group Finder. WoW: Forever doesn't let add-ons list you (or set your roles for it). So the bottom of the Group Finder now:
shows whether you're listed, and for what;
has a List yourself... button (or Change or delist... once you're listed) that opens the game's own window to do it.
Its role and comment boxes are gone. Request Invite no longer tries the game's apply-to-group function either; if asking the leader doesn't work, whisper them.
The blocked-action message no longer says "not allowed in combat" when you weren't in combat. It says only the game's own windows may do that.
2.26.7
Fixed: the Group Finder's dungeon list didn't match the game's own tool. Asking the game for its "recommended" list returned the dungeons above your level on Forever. The list is now worked out the way the game's own tool shows it: the dungeons whose suggested level range includes your level, highest first. At level 20 that's Shadowfang Keep, Deadmines, Wailing Caverns, Ruins of Lordaeron and Hall of Thanes. A Show all level ranges tick box under the list shows every dungeon, as in the game's tool.
2.26.6
Minimap button: right-click opens Looking for Group (the Group Finder). The alignment grid is still switched on and off on the Window Move & Resize page.
Group Finder:
Searches by itself: no Search button. It searches when the window opens, whenever you tick an activity and when you pick a category. The listings keep updating as they change, and the filter box and top line say so.
Dungeon list from the game's own tool: the dungeon list is what the game's own tool offers you (its recommended list for your level). Level ranges show the game's suggested levels where it has them.
"+x" listings in full: pointing at a listing queued for several dungeons ("+2") lists every one of them.
Tidier layout: the dungeon list and the filters start at the same height. The dungeon list's bottom lines up with the Send Message / Invite buttons. The filters, the list and the buttons share the right column's edges. Your roles and your comment start in the same column. The category drop-down fills the left column.
2.26.5
Group Finder:
Only what you can queue for: the dungeon list only shows activities your level can queue for (from the game's own level range for each).
Role icons like the game's: each listing shows the game's own small role icons (shield, cross, sword). A player on their own gets one for each role they'd fill; a group gets one per member. The role filter buttons use the same icons.
Crown on group leaders: a group's leader has a crown by their name.
No Size column.
A labelled filter box: the role and class filters now sit in a box headed "Filters – click to show or hide listings in the list below". They read "Show roles:" and "Show classes:", and Clear filters resets them all (Show groups too).
2.26.4
Party frames: in-combat buff tracking is back to how it worked in 2.26.1. 2.26.2 and 2.26.3 changed how the buffs you cast in combat are placed, and broke it. The earlier way is restored. The only thing kept is that each frame remembers its member's name from before the fight, which gives one more way to find the right member.
Group Finder:
The category is now a drop-down list: click it and pick a category.
New Show groups tick box: untick it to see only players listed on their own.
Roles are written out: the filter buttons read Tank / Healer / DPS, and the list shows "Tank, DPS" for a player or "1 Tank, 1 Healer, 3 DPS" for a group, instead of letters.
2.26.3
Fixed: 2.26.2 broke showing the buffs you cast in combat. In combat the game can hide party members' names, so a cast's target name couldn't be matched to anyone, and 2.26.2 then showed the buff on nobody.
Each party frame now remembers its member's name from before the fight and matches your cast's target against that.
A buff is left off only when every name is known and none matches (yourself when your own frame isn't shown, or someone outside the group).
When the target can't be worked out, it's back to the earlier behaviour: whose buffs changed in the same half second, preferring the member you're pointing at or targeting.
2.26.2
Fixed: a Power Word: Shield (or other buff) you cast in combat sometimes showed on the wrong party member.
A cast on someone not on the party frames (yourself when your frame isn't shown, or someone outside the group) fell back to "whoever's buffs changed just then", which in a fight is often someone else. It now goes on nobody.
A cast that never went off (interrupted) could lend its target to your next cast. Each cast now keeps its own target.
When the game doesn't say who a cast was aimed at, the buff goes on the one member whose buffs changed at that moment. If several changed, it goes on the one you were pointing at or targeting, and otherwise on nobody rather than a guess.
Fixed: the Group Finder closed when the options window closed. Opened from its settings page, it now stays open when you close the options window. Its own close button, `/tuilfg` or Escape (with no options window open) close it.
2.26.1
Group Finder: fixed overlapping parts.
The class buttons now have their own row under the role buttons; beside them they ran off the window.
Your listing is laid out in two lines: roles with List me / Delist, then the comment and whether you're listed. The comment box sat under List me.
Send Message / Request Invite sit below the listing's details.
2.26.0
New: Group Finder. Looking for Group in a window of its own (`/tuilfg`, or a button on its new Group Finder settings page), using the game's own listings, plus filters by role and by class.
Pick a category (Dungeons, Raids...), tick activities and press Search.
The Tank / Healer / Damage buttons and the nine class buttons narrow the listings. For example, Healer + Priest shows priests listed as healers. Click a class to pick it, or right-click it for only that class; All resets the filters.
Click a listing for its comment. Send Message whispers its leader, Invite invites a player listed on their own, and Request Invite asks a group's leader. Double-click whispers.
List yourself at the bottom with your roles and a comment (List me / Update / Delist).
The game's own window is one click away, and is opened for you if listing from here doesn't work on your client. On that page you can also make the game's Looking for Group key open this window instead (off by default).
2.25.14
The guild key (J) opens the game's own Guild & Communities window again. Only the social key (O) opens the Classic social window, which still starts on its Guild tab.
2.25.13
Gear Swap only lists items your class can wear. Armour and weapon types your class can't use in Classic no longer appear: no shields for a priest, no mail for a mage, no bows for a priest, and so on. Off-hand weapons only show if you can dual wield. Items that are just too high level for you still show, as before.
2.25.12
Radial Menu in combat opens where your ring last opened, not in the middle of the screen. The ring you hold a key for in combat can't be moved once combat has started, so it's placed as combat begins at the spot where a ring last opened. That spot is remembered across a /reload. It uses the middle of the screen only until a ring has opened once, or if that spot is off screen after a UI scale change.
2.25.11
Radial Menu: previews in a window of their own. The editor's Try it button is gone. The ring is now drawn in a separate Preview window beside the editor (on the left, since the pickers open on the right). It uses your ring size, icon size and background, and it updates as you add, remove or reorder things and when you switch rings. It closes with the editor. The settings page's Preview shows the same window beside the settings window, and clicking it again closes it. The preview is just a picture: nothing in it can be clicked or cast.
2.25.10
Radial Menu page: every ring at once. Instead of stepping through rings with < >, each ring has its own row: its name (type to rename it), its key (click to set, right-click to clear), a Combat tick (in combat, hold Ctrl/Shift/Alt to show that ring and click to cast; one ring at a time), Edit (was "Choose what's in this ring...") and Preview (was "Open this ring"), and X to delete it (click twice). New ring sits under the list, next to the choice of key to hold in combat.
Fixed: ring 1's name still blank on first look. The name was set while the box was hidden, which can leave it scrolled out of view; each name box now shows its text from the start.
Fixed: the spell list for a ring showed every rank of a spell (Mind Blast three times...). Each spell now appears once, as the highest rank you know.
2.25.9
Fixed: ring 1's name was blank on the Radial Menu page until you switched rings. The page filled it in when it was shown, which WoW: Forever doesn't reliably report; it now keeps the ring's name and number up to date while the page is open (never over a name you're typing).
Fixed: the < > arrows in the "choose what's in this ring" window did nothing. The invisible strip you drag the window by lay over them and caught the clicks; it now stops short of the arrows and the close button.
2.25.8
Log book: shift-click a zone to track all of its quests, or untrack them all if they're all tracked already. A collapsed zone's quests are included, and the zone doesn't collapse.
Log book: shift-click All to track every quest, or none if every quest is tracked already. Pointing at All shows a tooltip explaining this.
2.25.7
Fixed: the log book's zones wouldn't collapse. Clicking a zone's +/- (or All) asked the game to collapse it, which does nothing on WoW: Forever, so the quests stayed listed. The log book now collapses and opens zones itself, hiding a collapsed zone's quests, and still tells the game where that works.
2.25.6
Social window: the selected tab joins the window, as in Classic. The tabs are now drawn to match the Classic window. Unselected tabs hang just under the window's bottom edge with gold text. The selected tab is taller, runs up over the edge in the window's colour with no line between them, and has white text. (The game's own tab art on Forever floated below the window.)
Bottom buttons are a little taller (Guild Information / Add Member / Guild Control, and the log book's Abandon / Share / Exit), with the same space above them as below.
2.25.5
Fixed: the Social window option on the Classic Appearances page was indented under the log book's button. It now lines up with the log book option.
2.25.4
Fixed: the social window's bottom tabs overlapped and were different sizes. Each tab sized itself to its label, and they were overlapped the way the old angled Classic tab art needs; Forever's square-edged tabs just piled onto each other. The four tabs are now all one width, side by side, and stay that way when you switch tabs.
2.25.3
Guild Information opens its panel beside the social window, as in Classic. It shows the guild's info text, which you can edit if your rank allows (Accept saves it). Log switches to the guild event log (invites, joins, promotions, demotions, removals, with how long ago) and back. The bottom buttons now use the smaller font, so "Guild Information" fits.
Click the Guild Message of the Day to change it if your rank allows. A Set Guild Message Of The Day box opens with the current message, with Accept and Cancel.
Click a guild member for their details beside the window. It shows their name, level and class, zone, rank and last online, plus their note, which you can edit if you may (Enter saves). The officer's note shows too if your rank can see it. Remove (asks first) and Group Invite are at the bottom. Click the member again to close it; double-click still whispers.
The Message of the Day box now reaches down to the buttons, with no gap.
2.25.2
Log book: the same Classic art as the social window. It uses the game's grey metal window with the quest book in the round portrait and "Quest Log" in the title bar. The quest list and the quest count sit in dark inset boxes, and the parchment page sits in a dark frame. Both windows now share this art: where the client lacks the game's frame pieces, both get the same grey look-alike.
2.25.1
Social window: opens on the Guild tab, from your social key (O) as well as the guild key (J) and `/tuisocial`.
Social window: closer to the Classic art. It now uses the game's own frame pieces where the client has them: the grey metal window with the round scroll portrait and title bar, dark inset boxes around the list and the Message of the Day, column-heading tabs, and the Classic tabs along the bottom. The scroll bar has up/down arrows. A client without those pieces gets a grey look-alike.
Column sorting: click a heading once for ascending, again for descending (a small arrow shows which). A different heading starts ascending again. Online members still come first. Sorting works on the Friends, Who and Raid tabs too.
2.25.0
New: Classic Appearances. The Classic Quest Log page is now Classic Appearances, with each Classic-style window as an option on it. The log book (quest log) is the first, unchanged.
New: Classic social window. Friends, Who, Guild and Raid tabs in the look of the Classic window, opened with your social key (O), your guild key (J) or `/tuisocial [friends|who|guild|raid]`. The Guild tab has the guild's name as its title, Show Offline Members, the member count with how many are online, and the Message of the Day. It shows Name / Zone / Lvl / Class, or Name / Rank / Note / Last Online when you click the arrow at the bottom right. Click a column heading to sort by it. Its buttons are Guild Information, Add Member and Guild Control. In every tab you can double-click a name to whisper and right-click it to whisper or invite. Untick Social window on the Classic Appearances page to get the game's own window back.
2.24.5
Party Frames: tooltips on buffs and debuffs. Point at a buff or debuff icon on a party frame to see its tooltip (a buff of yours tracked from your cast in combat shows the spell's). Clicking the frame still targets the member, even over an icon. Show an icon's tooltip when you point at it on the Party Auras page turns it off.
2.24.4
Fixed: professions in a radial ring stopped opening. The ring remembered the spell that opens each profession the first time it was used, but that spell changes when you train the profession up (Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert... are different spells), and per-character rings copied it from whichever character set the ring up. So after training up (or on another character) the ring cast a spell you no longer have. It now looks the profession's current spell up every time.
2.24.3
Party Frames: more ways to see debuffs (diseases, magic...) in combat. When the game lists a member's debuffs but locks their details, each is now shown anyway: as a square in its dispel type's colour (Magic blue, Disease brown, Poison green, Curse purple) where the icon can't be had, and one locked debuff no longer stops the others from showing. The filters the game's own frames use for debuffs you can dispel are tried too. `/tuiparty auras` now also probes how a member's debuffs can be read at that moment – please send its output from a fight where someone has a disease or magic debuff if they still don't appear.
2.24.2
Gear Swap: item level on the gear you're wearing. Each slot in the character window shows its item's item level, in the item's quality colour, and updates as you change gear. On by default; Item level on the gear you're wearing on the Gear Swap page turns it off.
2.24.1
Fixed: Gear Swap's items vanished before you could reach them. It asked the game whether the mouse was still over the slot in a way WoW: Forever doesn't support, took the answer as "no", and hid the items at once. It now asks each frame itself, and allows a short moment for moving from the slot onto the items. (The number on each icon is the item's item level; untick Item level on each icon to hide it.)
2.24.0
New: Gear Swap. With your character window open, point at one of your equipment slots and everything in your bags that can go there appears beside it (best item level first, with the item level on each icon). Point at one to see its tooltip next to the one you're wearing; click it to put it on, in exactly that slot (each ring and trinket slot has its own), and what you had on goes into your bags. Settings on the new Gear Swap page (turn it off, or only while holding Alt); `/tuigear` shows its status. Gear sets are coming next.
2.23.5
Radial Menu: hold a key in combat to cast from a ring. On the Radial Menu page, pick a ring and tick In combat, hold [Ctrl] for this ring. In combat, while you hold that key (Ctrl, Shift or Alt: click the button to change it), that ring appears in the middle of the screen and clicking an icon casts it: spells at your highest rank, items, macros, markers. Let go of the key and it's gone. Your ring key and action bars aren't touched. (Alt is the game's self-cast key, so with Alt buffs land on you.) Also `/tuiradial hold <ring number | off | ctrl | shift | alt>`.
2.23.4
Radial Menu: the 2.23.3 combat ring is off again, for everyone, so the ring works as it did before: open at the mouse in combat, with raid markers, the map and bags usable and spells, items and macros greyed out until combat ends. (The experiment switched your action bar page and put a copy of the ring in the middle of the screen; it didn't work well.) `/tuiradial combat on` still turns it on for anyone who wants it.
2.23.3
Radial Menu works in combat. Spells, items, macros, markers and windows in rings 1-5 can now be used in combat. The game won't let an addon show or re-point its secure buttons once combat has started, so as combat starts each ring gets a ready-made copy in the middle of the screen that the game itself shows when you press the ring's key. In combat: tap the key, click an icon (it's used and the ring closes); tap the key again to close without using anything. How it's done: the key switches your action bar to a spare page while the ring is open (so your main bar shows that page meanwhile) and back again when you use something or close it. When combat ends everything goes back to normal, including your bar page. Holding the key and letting go over an icon only works out of combat. `/tuiradial combat off` turns this off.
2.23.2
Party Frames: your HoTs and buffs cast in combat now show. On WoW: Forever even the game's list of aura changes is hidden from addons in combat, so Thicc UI now follows your own casts instead: a helpful spell you cast in combat (Renew, Power Word: Shield...) goes on the frame of the member you cast it on, with its icon and a timer for its duration, and drops off when that runs out (a recast refreshes it). Who you cast it on comes from the cast itself, else from whose buffs changed at that moment, else your target. Other people's buffs cast mid-combat still only show once combat ends.
Party Frames: a red box around whoever has aggro. A member who is tanking something gets a red box around their frame (orange while they're about to lose it). On by default (Red box on whoever has aggro).
2.23.1
Party Frames: no pet gap under members without a pet. Room for a pet bar is only made under members who have one. A pet summoned or dismissed out of combat re-lays the frames at once; in combat the layout can't change, so it happens when combat ends.
Party Frames: HoTs cast mid-combat. When the game won't show an addon a member's buffs in combat, their icons are now copied from the game's own frames for that member, which can still see them: the raid-style party frames, the classic party frames, or the member's nameplate (friendly nameplates on). `/tuiparty auras` shows, per member, what was read and from where, and what the last in-combat buff changes looked like (please send its output if HoTs still don't appear).
2.23.0
Party Frames: pets. Tick Pets (under their owner) and each member's pet (yours included) gets a slim bar right under them, with its name and health, and heals on the way; click it to target the pet, right-click for its menu. It appears and disappears with the pet, in combat too. Pet bar height sets its size. Off by default.
Party Frames: incoming heals. Heals on their way to a member (or pet) show as a lighter green stretch after their health, the way the game's own frames do. On by default (Incoming heals).
2.22.5
Party frames: buffs and debuffs that land mid-combat now show up (e.g. a Renew you cast on a party member during a fight), and ones that fall off go. In combat WoW: Forever won't list a member's auras, but it still says what changed each time, and that is now used: each new aura is sorted into buffs (yours, when only yours are shown) or debuffs by the game's own in-combat filter check where it allows it, else by what can be read of it, else a buff arriving as you cast is taken to be yours.
2.22.4
Fixed (again): party frame buff icons dropped when combat started. In combat WoW: Forever can answer "no auras" rather than refusing, so 2.22.3's safeguard never kicked in. Now, in combat: the filters the game's own raid frames use in combat are tried too, and if the game still gives nothing, each member keeps the icons they had when combat started (a buff whose time is known to be up drops off). Everything is read again the moment combat ends. `/tuiparty` shows, per member, how many buffs and debuffs were read and how.
2.22.3
Fixed: party frame buffs disappeared when combat started. On WoW: Forever (like WoW 12.x) aura information is locked away from addons in combat, and reading it the old way failed, which cleared the icons. Buffs and debuffs are now read the way the game still allows in combat (by aura ID, with the icon and timer handed straight to the display). If even that isn't allowed, the icons stay as they were, timers still running, and are brought up to date the moment combat ends.
2.22.2
Fixed: the Mobile Trainer listed abilities you had already trained (e.g. "Lesser Heal (available)" under ready to learn). They came from a class trainer visit: on WoW: Forever the trainer reports each row's status ("available", "used") where the rank used to be, so "available" was saved as the rank, learned rows weren't skipped, and the rows never matched what you learned afterwards. The built-in trainer list, checked against your spellbook, now decides for every ability it has; a trainer visit only adds abilities it doesn't have. Trainer rows are read correctly now too (status is not a rank, learned rows are skipped, the rank comes from the spell).
2.22.1
Mobile Trainer shows what you already know, at the bottom, marked Known. Abilities already in your spellbook are listed after everything still to learn, under Known: already in your spellbook, greyed out with a green KNOWN label. One line per ability, at the rank you have (Frostbolt rank 5, not ranks 1-4 as well), including ranks trainers don't teach (the rank 1 you start with, a talent's rank 1). Your spellbook is read for this as well as the game's own "is this spell known" check. The summary line counts them.
2.22.0
Mobile Trainer fills itself in: no trainer visit needed. Every class trainer's list on WoW: Forever is now built into Thicc UI (each ability and rank, the level it needs, its cost and its talent tree), so the Mobile Trainer tab shows everything still to learn from the moment you log in. Ranks you know, or know a higher rank of, drop off the list; each rank shows the one before it as a requirement; a talent's higher ranks appear once you have the talent. Visiting a trainer still adds anything that trainer shows.
Radial menu rings belong to each character. Each character now has its own rings (names, contents and keys), so a mage's spells don't turn up on your warrior. Each character starts from the rings you had before. On WoW: Forever they are kept in the character's own macros ("ThiccUI Rings 1"...), since the game forgets addon settings. The ring's look (size, background...) is still shared.
Radial menu spells always use your highest rank. A spell goes into a ring at the highest rank you know, and when you train a higher rank the ring switches to it by itself.
2.21.0
Move and resize the loot window and item windows. Drag the loot window, the window a clicked item link opens, and books, letters and plaques by their title bar, and right-click and hold it to resize, like every other window. They open where you left them (the loot window no longer jumps to the cursor once you've placed it). Item link windows dragged by their body keep that spot too.
Loot roll windows (Need / Greed) can be placed too. They only exist during a roll, so Window Move & Resize has a new Move loot roll windows... button: it shows a stand-in where the rolls appear. Drag it, right-click and hold it to resize, and close it; rolls then appear there at that size. Reset all window positions puts them back.
2.20.2
Fixed: Talent Planner let you plan talents before their tier was open (e.g. Blade Flurry, which needs 20 points in Combat, with only 11 there). The game's own requirement numbers on WoW: Forever can be lower than the tier really needs, and the planner trusted them. Now every row needs at least Classic's 5 points per row above it (row 5 = 20 points); the game's number only counts when it asks for more. `/tuitalents debug` shows both.
2.20.1
Talent Planner: three clean trees with their names. On WoW: Forever the game hands over all three talent trees as one, so 2.20.0 drew every talent under a single "Tree 1" heading. The planner now splits them at the gaps between the trees and draws each in its own framed panel, with a name bar showing the tree's icon, its name (e.g. Discipline, Holy, Shadow Magic) and your planned points in it. Each panel borrows the tree's background artwork from the game's talent window when it can find it; otherwise it gets a soft class-coloured tint with the tree's icon faintly behind the talents.
2.20.0
New: Talent Planner. Plan your talents point by point, without spending anything, in a window laid out like your three talent trees: left-click plans a point, right-click takes it back, and tier and arrow requirements are respected. It shows the level your plan needs and, per talent, the level its first planned point comes at. Save plans by name (per class), load and edit them, or start one from the talents you have. Apply spends your unspent points along the plan, in its order, as far as your points go (press it again as you level); nothing you've learned is ever refunded. Open it with the Talent Planner button on the talent window, the settings page, or `/tuitalents`.
Party Frames: buffs and debuffs. Spell icons for each member's buffs (by default only the ones you cast) and debuffs (bordered in their dispel colour), with a stack count and the time left as a sweep. For each kind choose the size, how many, where the row sits (inside the frame at the bottom, or beside, above or below it) and nudge it into place, on the new Party Auras page; Show preview puts sample icons on the frames.
2.19.3
Fixed: the Radial Menu's slices stopped doing anything in 2.19.2 (and professions wouldn't switch at all). 2.19.2 attached a check to the ring's click buttons that the game didn't tolerate. It's gone; switching professions now works from the ring itself. Pressing the mouse on a profession closes another profession's open window, and letting go opens the one you picked, in one click. (With "let go of the key over a slice", switching from one open profession to another may still take two tries.)
2.19.2
Party Frames: your target is outlined exactly around its frame (a thin white border) instead of a big glow spilling outside it.
Radial Menu: switching professions takes one click again. Casting a profession while another profession's window was open only closed that window. Now the other window is closed first, so the one you picked opens straight away. Clicking the profession that's already open still closes it.
2.19.1
Party Frames move and resize like everything else. With Window Move & Resize's unit frame handles on, drag the first member's name to move them, and right-click and hold it to resize, just like the player and target frames (grid and snapping included). The position and size are kept with the other windows'. Show preview displays them while you're not in a party, and Reset position and size puts them back. The page says so if unit frames are locked.
2.19.0
New: Party Frames. Compact party frames in place of the game's own: a class-coloured health bar with the name and health number, a power bar, role icon, raid marker, a highlight on your target, and fading when someone is out of range. Choose what's shown and the size, and place them (see 2.19.1). Left-click targets, right-click opens the usual menu. Off by default. `/tuiparty` shows what they're doing.
Combo Points: the energy number's text size is now a setting (Energy text size), and the number is outlined so it reads over any nameplate.
Profiles page tidied up: a plain list with "active" beside the one in use, a delete icon that asks for a second click, and pages when there are many. Export current profile... and Import a profile... open the same pop-up window as Snapshots. Import uses the profile's own name. Exported text is shorter.
Snapshots no longer pile up "(imported)" copies of a profile you already have, setting for setting, when you apply one again.
Radial Menu: the ring's editor is wide enough for all five add buttons (Professions hung off the edge after Macros was added).
Elite Overlay: the Match my target frame's dragon button and the offset and scale sliders are gone. It matches itself the first time you target an elite and sits right as it is.
Mobile Trainer: the Tab position sliders are gone; the tab lines itself up.
2.18.8
Fixed: Action Keybinds didn't follow on alts. The keys being tracked were shared by every character, so an alt inherited your main's list. The alt's own keys were never picked up, because each key already "belonged" to one of the main's abilities, so nothing followed on the alt (worse with character-specific keybinds). Each character now keeps its own list, learned from the keys on its bars, with account-wide or character-specific keybinds alike. The tracked keys are no longer copied into the settings macros either.
`/tuikeys` now shows which character's keys are tracked and whether that character uses character-specific keybinds.
2.18.7
Fixed: Action Keybinds' keys weren't following abilities. On WoW: Forever the game can refuse to say what's in some action bar slots (it answers with hidden "secret" values), and one such slot stopped the whole follow step. Unreadable slots are now skipped safely. A key whose ability can't be found while some slots are unreadable is left where it is rather than removed.
Keys follow onto action bars 6, 7 and 8 too, the extra bars in Edit Mode; before, only the first six bars were covered.
`/tuikeys` now also says how many bar slots the game wouldn't let Thicc UI read.
2.18.6
Radial Menu: add your existing macros from a list. The ring's editor has a new Macros button next to Spells. It opens your macros as icons, with General and Character tabs; hover one to see what it does, click to add it (add as many as you like). Thicc UI's own "ThiccUI Save" macros aren't listed. Dragging a macro in still works too.
2.18.5
The minimap button now starts at the 9 o'clock position (the left edge of the minimap) instead of lower-left. If you've dragged it somewhere yourself, it stays there.
2.18.4
Snapshots: choose which macros to apply. Next to Macros under "Apply to this character" are two new options, General (account-wide macros) and Character (the character-specific ones). Both are ticked by default, and they're greyed out while Macros is off. A snapshot's contents now show both counts, for example "12 macros (8 general, 4 character)".
2.18.3
Fixed: saved snapshots didn't show on the Snapshots page until you took a new one. The list now keeps itself up to date while the page is open, including snapshots added some other way (`/tuisnap save`, the logout snapshot).
2.18.2
Snapshots: Import applies straight away. Paste the text and press Import & apply; it's added to your snapshots and applied with the choices ticked under "Apply to this character", with no separate Apply press.
Radial Menu: rings have just a name; the description field is gone.
2.18.1
Fixed: "ThiccUI has been blocked from an action only available to the Blizzard UI" when logging out after applying a snapshot. Applying a snapshot changes the game's own settings, HUD layout, bars and keys from addon code, and the game can hold that against Thicc UI until the interface is reloaded. After applying, Thicc UI now asks you to reload (a Reload now button). Applying also no longer runs Blizzard's action bar code itself, and the last settings save while logging out only edits its existing macros.
If the game ever blocks something and blames Thicc UI, the chat now says which function it was and what to do. `/thicc blocked` lists them.
2.18.0
Several radial menus. Make up to 8 rings, each with its own name, key and contents. On the Radial Menu page, use < > to choose a ring, New ring to add one and Delete ring to remove one; name it and set its key right there. The editor edits one ring at a time (its < > switch rings). An open ring shows its name in the middle. Each ring is also listed by name under Key Bindings > AddOns > Thicc UI. Your existing ring becomes Ring 1 with its key unchanged. `/tuiradial 2` opens ring 2; `/tuiradial edit 2` edits it.
Professions open in one click. A profession in a ring now casts that profession's own spell, which opens its window directly, instead of opening the professions book for a second click. Professions already in your ring pick this up by themselves.
Settings kept in macros can now use up to 16 macros (was 8), to leave room for several rings.
2.17.3
Radial Menu: background circle settings. Show or hide the circle behind the icons, and pick its colour and opacity (Radial Menu page). The "Use Blizzard's gamepad radial art" option is gone.
No "Right-click or Esc to close" caption when "Close after clicking something" is on.
The Spells, Windows, Markers and Professions pop-ups open beside the ring's editor instead of on top of it (on the left if there's no room on the right). Clicking the editor folds them away, just like clicking their button again; they also have a close button.
Nothing hangs over the edges any more: spellbook tabs wrap onto a second row when they don't fit, and the editor and pop-ups have a solid background so the settings page doesn't show through.
2.17.2
Fixed: the Export window opened but showed no text. The text box is now anchored and sized to the window, and its text is filled in after the window appears. The exported text is split into short lines, and anything a WoW text box can't draw (unusual characters, or values the game keeps hidden from addons) is written safely or left out. Exports made with 2.17.1 still import.
`/tuisnap window test` opens the window with three short lines, and `/tuisnap window` prints what the game reports about it, in case the text still doesn't show.
2.17.1
Snapshots: Export... and Import... open a proper window. Export shows the snapshot's text already selected (press Ctrl+C); Import gives you a box to paste into (Ctrl+V) and an Import button. The old show/hide "Copy to another game client" section, whose box stayed empty, is gone. The exported text is also much shorter.
2.17.0
Radial Menu: add spells straight from your spellbook. A new Spells button in the ring's editor shows your spellbook's tabs and spells as icons (paged); click as many as you like to add them.
Snapshots now include your game settings on Forever – they captured none before, because the game has a different settings list there. All settings you've changed are included: gameplay, accessibility and system (graphics, sound).
Snapshots include your HUD layout (Edit Mode). If the other character already has that layout (or it's a preset), it's switched to; otherwise the layout text is put in the copy box, ready for Edit Mode's Import.
2.16.5
Thicc UI no longer widens Blizzard's Options window (it wasn't needed any more). Note: the Options window's inner panel sticking out past its right edge on the Forever beta is Blizzard's own, not caused by any addon.
2.16.4
The Combo Points settings page fits the options window. The pip shape, colour and reset controls used to hang off the bottom. The sliders are now in two columns, the preview is shorter, and its caption stays inside the box.
Slider number boxes show their numbers (they looked empty on Forever).
2.16.3
Fixed: snapshots could save "0 bar slots". One unreadable action slot made the whole action-bar part of a snapshot fail; each slot is now read on its own, and unreadable ones are skipped and counted. Action slots up to 180 are included. `/tuisnap bars` shows what the game reports for your bars.
2.16.2
Tidier Snapshots page. Snapshots are a plain list (name, then class, level and date in a second column) instead of red buttons whose text ran out of them; deleting takes a second click to confirm; export/import is tucked behind "Copy to another game client..."; the counts for the selected snapshot sit under the list instead of squeezed between buttons.
2.16.1
Fixed: the energy number next to the combo point pips only showed in the settings preview, never on your target's nameplate. Forever hands your energy to addons as a "secret" number, and Thicc UI used to hide it whenever that happened. It now passes it straight to the text on the nameplate, which the game allows. `/tuicombo` shows what the display is doing.
2.16.0
Your settings now stick on WoW: Forever. The beta client doesn't load addon settings back (not even after /reload), so every addon starts from its defaults. Thicc UI now keeps a copy of your changed settings in a few general macros named "ThiccUI Save 1", "ThiccUI Save 2"... and reads them back at login. On by default; see the new Keep Settings page or `/thiccsave`. Don't delete or edit those macros.
2.15.6
Fixed: abilities couldn't be Shift+dragged off the action bars while Last Cast Ability was on (it is on by default since 2.15.2). Last Cast Ability no longer attaches anything to the action buttons; it watches presses through the game's own UseAction call instead.
2.15.5
Fixed a Lua error when opening the Character window from the radial menu ("attempt to compare a secret number value", from 2.15.4). Windows are opened only through a secure click on the game's own micro-menu buttons again, so nothing of Blizzard's is tainted.
Hold-point-release now uses the key's own secure click, for windows and spells alike, with no temporary key-binding changes.
In combat, windows opened through the micro menu (character, spellbook, talents, professions, collections...) are greyed out in the ring, like spells; the map, bags and raid markers still work.
2.15.4
Fixed: hold-point-release didn't open Character, Spellbook, Talents, Professions or Collections (the map and bags worked). Windows now open on release through the game's own micro-menu buttons, clicked directly.
2.15.3
Interface number is now Forever's own (16001), confirmed in game. Thicc UI no longer shows as "out of date" on the Forever client without "Load out of date AddOns" ticked, and CurseForge should tag it for WoW Forever rather than Retail.
2.15.2
Radial Menu: hold, point, let go. Hold the radial key, move the mouse toward a slice and release the key: that slice is used, no second click. On by default (settings: "Hold the key, point at a slice and let go to use it"). A quick tap still opens the ring for clicking; letting go in the middle cancels. The slice you're pointing at is highlighted.
Last Cast Ability is now on by default.
2.15.1
Fixed: 2.15.0 stopped every keyboard key from working (movement too) while the addon was enabled. Choosing the radial menu's key now happens on a full-screen prompt that only exists while you're choosing, and gives up on its own after 10 seconds.
2.15.0 - Radial Menu
New: Radial Menu. A ring of icons that opens on a key of your choice, centred on your mouse. Fill it with up to 12 things: game windows (character, spellbook, talents, professions, quest log, map, bags, collections...), spells such as buffs, professions, items, toys, macros, mounts, raid target markers and world markers. Click an icon to use it; right-click or Esc to close.
Choose what's in it in its own window: drag spells, items, macros or mounts straight in from your spellbook, bags, macro window, mount journal or action bars, or pick windows, markers and professions from icon grids. Reorder and remove with the arrows.
Set the key on the Radial Menu settings page (keyboard with modifiers, mouse buttons 3-5, or a gamepad button) or in the game's Key Bindings window under AddOns > Thicc UI.
Windows open through the game's own micro-menu buttons. In combat the ring still opens, and windows and raid markers still work; spells, items, macros and world markers wait until combat ends.
`/tuiradial` opens it; `/tuiradial edit`, `/tuiradial debug`.
2.14.13 - First public release
Made for WoW: Forever (interface 16001). `/thicc` and `/thiccui` open the settings and always reach Thicc UI; `/tui` still works but is shared with other addons, and `/tuikb` is a unique alias for `/kb`.
Unit frames and the minimap can be dragged without unlocking anything. Grab a unit's name (or hold Shift for the minimap); the handles are invisible and switch off in combat. Untick "Allow moving unit frames and the minimap" to lock them.
Grid: right-click the minimap button to show or hide it. It is denser by default (16) and has a density slider (cells of 4 to 128); every fourth line is brighter.
Elite overlay now copies the target frame's dragon (art and proportions) and mirrors it onto the player frame; it scales with the player frame. Target an elite once to match it exactly.
Settings checkboxes always show the real state. The Classic Quest Log and Action Keybinds pages could open with their box unticked although the feature was on.
Classic Quest Log rewards: item tooltips on hover (they were empty), reward names and icon frames in the item's rarity colour, and a red border for an item you can't use, like the game's own log.
Fixed the Flight Tracker bar's route name overlapping the time text.
New: Flight Tracker. A bar that appears whenever you're on a flight path, showing where you're headed. The first time you take a route it counts up while it learns the duration; after that it counts down. Learned times are shared by every character on your account. `/tuiflight` (status), `/tuiflight reset` (forget learned times).
Fixed: clicking "Reset to defaults" on the Combo Points page was silently wiping every OTHER module's settings too (Window Move & Resize, Last Cast Ability, and so on), not just the pips, until you switched profiles. It now only resets what it says it resets.
Combo Points: new default look (smaller circular pips, tighter spacing, repositioned) and an optional current-energy number next to the pip row (either side).
Fixed a "Reset all window positions" button whose label ran outside its own edges.
Last Cast Ability: no more streak number. A confirmed cast now sends a green copy of the icon flying out to the side (left or right, your choice) instead – motion instead of a colour change, so spamming and landing don't look alike.
Last Cast Ability: a second press detector. If it still wasn't flashing on the press itself, that should be fixed now – added `UseAction` hooking (the core function every action-bar click ultimately calls) alongside the previous button hooks, so a press is caught whichever mechanism this client actually needs.
Last Cast Ability now flashes on every button press (not just a landed cast), reading the icon straight off the action button you pressed; a green sweep confirms when a press actually goes off. Fixes it always showing a question mark. New "flash on every press" toggle.
New: Last Cast Ability. A small icon showing the last ability you successfully cast, flashing every time it goes off again (restarts the flash from full brightness even mid-spam), with a streak counter for consecutive casts of the same ability and idle dimming when nothing's been cast for a few seconds. Drag it, resize it and it remembers, just like every other Thicc UI window. `/tuilastcast`.
Level number no longer hidden behind the elite dragon. It's now redrawn on top, copied from wherever the game shows it (or your character's level directly, if that can't be read).
Rare Elite with nothing captured no longer covers your whole frame. It stands in with the other variant's art (correctly sized against your portrait) until you target that kind of mob.
Rare Elite (silver) option. The Elite Overlay now has a "Which dragon to show" toggle: Elite (gold, as before) or Rare Elite (silver, for rare mobs). Each is captured and remembered separately – target a rare mob once to match it, an ordinary elite once for the other – and switching the toggle redraws instantly from whatever is already captured.
Fixed an error when targeting ("boolean test on a secret boolean value" from the target frame's cast bar): Blizzard's frames can now return values addons may not test. Everything Thicc UI reads from Blizzard's frames treats those as "unknown", and the scripts that do it can no longer show an error.
Combined bags: the invisible move bar now works when "combine all bags" is on.
Mobile Trainer tab: it takes its size from the typical tab (not the highlighted, selected one), and clicking back to the spellbook tab you were on now closes it.
Mobile Trainer tab lines up with the spellbook's own tabs by what is drawn (including art on child frames), checks itself after placing, and has a fine-adjustment on its settings page.
Fixed an error when opening the trade window ("forbidden object"). Thicc UI no longer touches forbidden frames, never gives the trade window a title bar, and one misbehaving window can no longer stop the others.
Key binding safety. Action Keybinds and Snapshots never change or save key bindings that look unloaded or wiped, never take a key from a basic command (movement, jump...), and undo themselves if they would. The main bar's second page no longer counts as the visible bar's keys. Your key bindings are also backed up automatically about once a day (last 5); `/tuibindings` lists them and `/tuibindings restore` puts the keys back.
Shorter addon-list description and no placeholder author.
2.12.x - Pre-release development (beta testing)
Mobile Trainer (spellbook tab): remembers your class trainer's list, so the abilities you will be able to learn, their levels and costs, can be seen anywhere. Sits at the end of the spellbook's row of tabs.
Windows move by their title bar, resize with right-click-hold, and reopen where you closed them. Panels the game opens are picked up automatically.
Classic Quest Log: Classic layout, difficulty colours, tags, parchment details, rewards on dark panels coloured by rarity, track/abandon/share, `/tuilog`. Item rewards load reliably.
Action Keybinds: keys are learned as you set them, follow the action across bars, up to two keys per action, nothing changes in combat.
Combo points preview is drawn to scale for your nameplate size.
Unit-frame move handles sized to the unit's name; secret-value and stuck-drag fixes.
2.8.0 - 2.11.x
Combo points on the nameplate, profiles with export/import, character snapshots, minimap button, grid and snap-to-grid, slider text boxes, elite overlay.
