The Menagerie v1.9.18
What's new
MissionAccomplished 1.9.18
Quest-prerequisite recovery, pet-data corrections, read-only equipment advice, and explicitly confirmed learning actions for WoW Classic Era 1.15.9 (Interface 11509). All eleven packages carry version 1.9.18; update your installed suite packages together.
Validation and known limitations
This release includes the current fixes at the owner's request. Automated compile and test checks cover the suite, including the grey-sale receipt fix, flight timers, quest tiles and Incendicite correction. Native merchant, real-flight, training/talent and final UI acceptance remain unconfirmed; headless tests do not certify those in-game actions or layouts. Existing lint and formatting findings are recorded in the local verification report.
The reported Northfold Manor auto-accept failure remains under diagnosis. The supplied status was idle after the earlier report, so this release does not claim a verified fix for that issue.
Noctis Guides
- Corrects the imported Incendicite Ore source data: Search for Incendicite no longer marks spiders as ore sources or adds ore progress to their tooltips. The mining quest's six-ore objective and item progress are unchanged.
- Adds dedicated feather-trimmed frames for guide quest tiles: difficulty-tinted available frames and matching gold ready-to-turn-in frames, with the same compact dimensions, owl badge and quest levels.
- Marks active-route quests and the current prerequisite detour with a small generated Noctis owl. Difficulty colors and READY status retain their own meaning. Matching visible tiles replace duplicate unfinished pickup/turn-in labels, while flight paths and other guide errands remain separately visible.
- Adds small generated kill and quest-loot badges above visible attackable enemy nameplates. Crossed swords mark unfinished kill objectives; a pouch marks a recorded source for an item still needed by an active quest. Both show when appropriate. They share the NPC task-label visibility switch, require enemy nameplates to be visible, and do not target, fight or loot. Possible item sources are not guaranteed drops, and corpses are not marked.
- Replaces the addon's quest-giver exclamation row with compact quest-name tiles in grey, green, yellow, orange and red difficulty colors. Ready turn-ins appear first in gold with a checkmark and READY badge. Up to five quests appear together, with a count for any more; known quest levels appear before names and long labels are safely shortened. The whole tile stack is 15% smaller than the initial version, with text and art scaled together. This is independent of the current route and map toggles. Completed, level-locked and prerequisite-blocked pickups are not advertised. Friendly nameplates must already be visible. Tiles are informational; Blizzard's native world-space quest symbols are unchanged.
- Addresses the quest-discovery "script ran too long" refresh by splitting catalogue work across frames and batching existing pin updates as well as new ones. Repeated events preserve queue progress, stale snapshots are rejected, and the native quest-state read stays coherent.
- Includes researched starter timings for all 266 directed normal flight legs in the audited Classic Era network (130 Alliance, 136 Horde). Multi-stop estimates follow the native route's actual hops; completed personal flights refine the same itinerary without mixing different intermediate paths. Starter lookup currently uses English native node names. Scripted/special flights and other locales retain personal/map estimates or elapsed tracking.
- Fixes missing flight timers caused by an empty personal history or a map projection not being passed to the timer. The flight panel distinguishes starter, measured and projected estimates, shows elapsed time when unknown, and remains visible when an estimate runs out before landing. Interrupted, uncertain or reload-midflight observations do not become timing samples. Existing flight-purchase settings and behavior are unchanged.
- Shows a missing prerequisite before an unavailable follow-up, including starter items from earlier routes. Held quests lead to unfinished objectives or their turn-in; completing the chain restores the original route without changing saved progress. Unknown data does not invent a destination.
- Keeps the compass, pinned instructions, guide details and NPC task tags on the same prerequisite. Owned starter items and unfinished objectives no longer inherit unrelated generic quest-database waypoints.
- Reduces repeated filtering, checkpoint and panel work behind the guide selector's "script ran too long" error while preserving progress validation.
- Rechecks delayed quest/item completion after progress events, corrects the Wetlands carry-over quest requirements, separates Fire Taboo's hand-in from Blisters on the Land's pickup, and shows confirmed checkbox completion.
- Widens both navigation wings for long instructions, up to 50% when the screen permits, while keeping short steps compact and artwork proportions intact.
- Stops objective whispers to offline or unreadable party members, discards their queued updates and negotiates fresh state after reconnecting. Native chat messages are not hidden or filtered.
- Adds read-only Armory upgrade and uncertainty markers to native quest rewards and comparisons. Score advice stays separate from whole-stack vendor value; it does not choose, claim or equip a reward. The opt-out is now labeled Reward advice.
The Menagerie
- Uses neutral wording for pet-reference labels, notes and tooltips. Guide training help points to the in-addon browser; research attribution stays in the documentation. Pet facts and uncertainty warnings are unchanged.
- Aligns Train active pet / Buy pet skill with the Overview heading inside the card's normal padding, clear of the gold border. Confirmation behavior is unchanged.
- Simplifies Pet skill sources into a searchable skill list with icons, direct family/rank choices, and compact creature cards with levels and locations. The selected family has its own icon and a themed dropdown arrow. Smaller skill/menu icons and aligned labels stay inset within their button frames. Both search fields now fit the border's full corner height, with hint and typed text inset beyond the side ornaments and vertically centered. The window grows slightly to preserve list and footer spacing. Refresh aligns beside the close button without overlapping its artwork. Exact-rank native icons and descriptions are separate from source-family icons. Reported coordinates appear only for identity- and map-checked records. Detailed evidence and learning instructions are available on hover; uncertain sources remain visibly flagged. The browser stays read-only.
- Removes the repeated "(opinion)" suffix from ratings, pet details and tooltips. Scores, suggested picks and unverified-data labels are unchanged.
- Gives the selected pet a prominent, fixed centered portrait with a compact rating row and measured name, model and ability layout. Normal Suite cards fit the details and skill-sources button without scrolling. Unusually long details scroll separately, keeping the portrait visible; model proportions and zoom are unchanged.
- Reconciles all 594 Hunter records against the Classic pet census, expands family ability lists and surfaces level disagreements, special taming conditions, unsupported speed claims and uncertain availability.
- Keeps reported spawn coordinates on their own maps. Unverified locations remain manual-search entries rather than creating misleading Hunt targets or merged search regions. The audit includes a sourced 600-record reference export covering Hunter and Warlock entries.
- Corrects ordinary Warlock pet spell identities, summon reagents and ability sets from pinned client data. Unsupported guardian abilities stay provisional.
- Adds a read-only Pet skill sources browser covering 21 abilities and 111 reference ranks. Source creatures, family restrictions and observed native pet/Beast Training evidence remain separate. Disputed sources and five unconfirmed Resistance rank-5 entries are marked uncertain.
- Adds separate, centered confirmations for one currently selected native Beast Training skill or one Hunter pet-trainer service. Fresh native rank, pet identity, requirements, training-point or copper cost, and reserve checks gate the action. The two action types cannot overlap, and uncertain results never retry automatically. Browsing stays read-only.
- Allows an otherwise eligible native zero-cost skill when a newly tamed pet has negative training points; positive-cost checks remain unchanged.
Bankert's Bags and Mahler's Armory
- Fixes an unresolved non-grey sale blocking every later grey-junk sale. A fresh vendor visit can sell greys with independent receipt tracking while preserving the old equipment record and keeping non-grey sales paused. Unknown grey outcomes still stop without retrying. Acknowledgement confirmations are bound to the exact displayed receipt, so an old dialog cannot clear a newer attempt.
- Grey auto-selling waits briefly for late item/vendor data or combat to clear instead of abandoning the vendor visit after an early attempt. Mixed loaded and loading grey stacks wait together. Manual selling, changed settings or character identity, and vendor closure cancel the wait; uncertain or issued sales are not retried. The existing all-vendor-priced-grey policy is unchanged.
- Adds an explicit Market equipment search from the bag settings menu. Bounded native-listing pages show whole-stack budget alternatives and optional Armory comparisons. Exact-name searches and verified native-row selection stop on stale/shared-list changes or open monetary confirmations.
- Market never bids, buys, posts or cancels auctions. Armory's advice reuses the existing scoring rules and preserves incomplete, tied and uncertain results; it never equips an item. Native Market acceptance remains pending.
Spiritwalkers Path
- With Auto-assign off, review the next planned talent and confirm exactly one point. Fresh character, build, rank, prerequisite and available-point checks gate the action; native rank evidence is required before acknowledgement. It does not retry or chain into another point.
- Switching Auto-assign off during a pending acknowledgement stops subsequent automatic spending. Settings changes and catch-up retain the pending attempt. Existing Auto-assign preferences and its enabled-by-default policy are unchanged.
Shared support and package scope
- Core's shared trainer journal distinguishes Menagerie pet purchases from player-spell training and preserves pet identity. Player-spell evidence cannot acknowledge a pet purchase or bypass the shared pending-action lock.
- Suite profile pings and replies require an online recipient. The new Menagerie browser participates in Suite window cleanup.
- Gavrial's Corner, Guild Functions and the example route pack are version-aligned with no new runtime behavior in this release.
- Naglet's Toolkit includes the flight-panel lifecycle and estimate-label fixes described above; it still respects the saved flight-frame opt-out.
- Headless tests, source audits and release results are recorded locally. These notes do not claim that the new native UI/action paths have been accepted in game.
