The database includes approximately 4,114 Classic quest records covering:

  • Alliance quests
  • Horde quests
  • Levels 1–60
  • Level-60 quests
  • Quest start sources
  • Quest turn-in sources
  • Quest levels
  • Minimum levels
  • Race restrictions
  • Class restrictions
  • Faction restrictions
  • Quest prerequisites
  • Exclusive quest relationships
  • Repeatable status
  • NPC and object locations

Restricted Data Scope

The provider deliberately excludes:

  • Objective mob locations
  • Objective item locations
  • Drop-source locations
  • Suggested routes
  • Navigation arrows
  • Quest descriptions
  • Objective instructions
  • Questie interface elements
  • Questie code

Provider Interface

Added a read-only provider interface used by The Great Expedition.

The provider can supply:

  • Quest records
  • Eligibility fields
  • Start locations
  • Turn-in locations
  • Verification state
  • Database version
  • Supported game version

Verification Storage

Added account-wide SavedVariables for:

  • Live quest observations
  • Independent observers
  • Confirmation counts
  • Coordinate variants
  • Conflicting reports
  • Client builds
  • Last observation timestamps
  • Review state

Initial Verification Status

All launch entries are marked:

Database-derived

The status indicates that the record is usable but has not yet been confirmed against the current live Classic client.

Version 1.0.1

Event Quest Classification

Added filtering metadata for seasonal, temporary, and obsolete quest families.

Added exclusions for:

  • Darkmoon Faire
  • Lunar Festival
  • Winter Veil
  • Hallow’s End
  • Children’s Week
  • Love is in the Air
  • Obsolete Ahn’Qiraj war-effort content

Standard Dataset Filtering

  • Event-only quests are no longer exposed as ordinary permanently available quests.
  • Temporary event quests remain in the source database where required for future event support.
  • Event-filtered records are excluded from the standard Quest Ledger dataset.
  • Seasonal quests are filtered before character eligibility is evaluated.

Map Data Access

  • Updated the provider so quest data can be requested for any supported map.
  • Quest start and turn-in records are no longer implicitly restricted to the player’s current zone.
  • The Great Expedition remains responsible for restricting minimap markers to the current zone.

Verification Compatibility

  • Existing observations remain compatible.
  • Existing conflict records remain compatible.
  • Existing SavedVariables do not require deletion.

Version 1.0.2

Quest Area and Category Data

Added the original quest area and category identifier to 4,113 quest records.

This allows The Great Expedition to associate quests with:

  • Outdoor zones
  • Dungeons
  • Raids
  • Quest categories

Dungeon and Raid Associations

Added support for retrieving quests associated with supported instances.

Initial tested associations include:

  • The Deadmines
  • Wailing Caverns
  • Ragefire Chasm

The provider can return all database-associated quests for an instance, while The Great Expedition determines their current character state.

Outdoor Zone Associations

Added support for retrieving quests associated with outdoor zones.

This allows Frontier to identify elite quests associated with the current zone.

Elite Quest Classification

  • Added support for storing or requesting elite quest classification.
  • The Great Expedition may supplement database information with Blizzard’s live quest-data API.
  • Entries without confirmed elite classification remain unclassified rather than being guessed.

Provider API

Expanded the read-only provider interface with access to:

  • Quest area/category identifiers.
  • Dungeon and raid quest groups.
  • Outdoor-zone quest groups.
  • Quest classification data.

Verification Preservation

The update preserves:

  • Existing live observations.
  • Independent observer records.
  • Conflicts.
  • Coordinate variants.
  • Verification statuses.
  • Database-derived labels.
