TaxiUnshift

Fly while shapeshifted. One click, no unshifting, no red error text.

Every druid knows the dance. You bound across the zone in Travel Form, reach the flight master, click your destination, and get told "You can't taxi while in a shapeshifted form." So you unshift, click the destination again, and only then do you get on the bird. Shamans in Ghost Wolf get the same treatment. Blizzard didn't fix this until Cataclysm.

TaxiUnshift fixes it here. Open the flight map in any form, click where you want to go, and you go. The addon cancels your form and takes the flight you already picked, in a single click.

What It Does

• Click a destination while shifted and you fly there. That's the whole addon.
• Works in every form: Travel, Flight, Aquatic, Cat, Bear, Moonkin, Tree, and Ghost Wolf.
• Tooltips, flight costs, and route lines all still work exactly as they normally do.
• The red "you can't taxi while shapeshifted" error is cleared and replaced with a one-line note in chat.
• Completely invisible when you are not shapeshifted. Normal flying is untouched.
• Clicking the flight point you are standing on, or one you cannot reach, will not drop your form for nothing.
• Loads only for druids and shamans. Every other class never runs a line of it.

How It Works

CancelShapeshiftForm() is a protected function, so no addon is allowed to unshift you on its own. The unshift has to come from a real click on an action button. TaxiUnshift places a transparent action button over each reachable flight point while you are shifted, so your click on the destination is the click that cancels your form. Taking the flight afterwards is not protected, so the addon finishes the job for you the instant the form drops.

That is why this works reliably instead of fighting the client: your click does the part only you can do, the addon does the rest.

Compatibility

• TBC Classic, including the Anniversary realms.
• The code has nothing TBC-specific in it and should work on Classic Era and Season of Discovery too, but it is untested there and the TOC does not list them. Say so in the comments if you want an Era build and it can be added.
• No dependencies, no libraries, no saved variables, no configuration.
• Plays fine alongside Leatrix Plus. If you use Leatrix's Dismount me - Show cancel form button on flight map, you can uncheck it, since TaxiUnshift makes the extra button unnecessary.

Install

Drop the TaxiUnshift folder into Interface\AddOns. There is nothing to configure.

Notes

If a future patch ever changes the flight map's node buttons, TaxiUnshift falls back to showing a single Cancel Form button on the flight map rather than silently doing nothing, so you are never worse off than the manual unshift you do today.
