TankCaps-1.5.0.zip
What's new
## 1.5.0 — 2026-08-19
Version 1.4.0 was skipped: the target indicator and the settings panel were planned
as separate releases and ended up shipping together.
### Added
- **A settings panel**, opened with `/tc config`. Font, size, scale, background
opacity, the divider, both marker positions, and buttons for lock, show, preview,
reset and debug. Everything applies as you change it — there is no OK or Apply,
and every control still has its slash command.
- **Custom fonts**, if you have LibSharedMedia-3.0. It is optional and not bundled;
most large addons already ship it, and TankCaps stays dependency-free without it.
Each font in the panel is drawn in its own face, which is the reason the panel
exists — a list of font names in chat tells you nothing. `/tc font` and
`/tc fontsize 16-24` do the same from the command line.
Without the library you get a line saying where the list comes from rather than an
empty box, and the size slider stays — it adjusts the game font just as well.
- **A target frame indicator**, off by default, answering whether you are crit
immune **against what you have selected**. That is a different question from the
one the readout answers: the same character can be clear against a heroic pull and
short against a raid boss. A `??` target counts as a boss; friendly, dead and
player targets show nothing.
Crit only. Crushing blows are survivable, and a warrior's uncrushable state flips
with every Shield Block, so a marker for that would strobe rather than inform.
`/tc target` turns it on and `/tc target topleft|topright|bottomleft|bottomright`
moves it.
- **A background opacity slider**, 0 to 100% over solid black. It stays at 0 by
default, which is what a locked frame has always looked like — an update shouldn't
repaint your UI unasked. Unlocking floors it at 45% regardless, since you can't
drag a frame you can't see. `/tc opacity 0-100` does the same.
- The vertical line between the two columns can be turned off, in the panel or with
`/tc divider`. Feral druids have one column and no line, so neither the control
nor the command appears for them.
### Changed
- **Settings are now per character.** They were account-wide, so moving the frame on
one character moved it on all of them — and since a druid's frame is half the
width of a paladin's, a shared position was not even the same position.
Nothing is lost on upgrade: a character with nothing saved yet inherits the old
account-wide layout, and a fresh alt starts from your last one rather than the
middle of the screen.
- `/tc` is now a master switch. It hides the target indicator along with the frame
and remembers whether the indicator was on, so bringing TankCaps back restores it
as it was.
- `/tc` on its own no longer prints sixteen commands wrapping across the chat frame.
It says what the addon does and points at `/tc config`; `/tc commands` still lists
everything.
### Fixed
- The number and its status line sat at fixed offsets in the frame, leaving more
space below than above. Invisible while the background was transparent, obvious
the moment opacity could be turned up. They are centred now, and stay centred at
any font size.
- A crit shortfall showed as `1 rtg` while spare capacity showed as `+9 rtg`, and
the uncrushable column beside it already signed both directions. All four states
now carry a sign.
- Preview in the panel changed its label and did nothing when the readout wasn't on
screen — hidden, or not a tank spec. It is disabled now, and the panel says which
of the two it is.
