TalentTrail

TalentTrail shows your next recommended talent directly on the World of Warcraft: Forever talent page. Choose a role and spec using native-style buttons, then spend the point yourself.

Features

• DPS, tank, or healer guide selection for supported class/spec combinations.
• A single next-talent recommendation with its target rank and tree.
• A solid cyan frame and +1 badge on the recommended talent, including when you have zero unspent points.
• Pending-build suggestions while you stage talent changes.
• Optional chat reminders when a point is available.
• Per-character role, spec, and reminder preferences.

Open your talents normally, or type /talenttrail or /ttalents. Hover Show talent for guide coverage and status details. /talenttrail status provides diagnostic information.

Current support and guide coverage

This beta targets Forever 1.60 / interface 16001. It does not support Retail or Classic Era.

Recommendations use dated, bundled Icy Veins guide snapshots. The addon does not fetch websites in game. Four routes currently cover full 51-point leveling sequences: Arcane Mage, Frost Mage, Holy Priest, and Subtlety Rogue. Most other routes cover 21-point beta PvE builds and stop at the end of the published sequence. Balance Druid uses the corrected published Icy Veins route. Restoration Druid retains an adapted 21-point dungeon-healing route, validated against the current tree and explicitly labeled Adapted route. Feral remains unchanged. Protection Paladin covers 25 points and Holy Paladin covers 26. Discipline and Shadow Priest follow the guides’ primary 21-point builds.

Missing or ambiguous talent data stops recommendations rather than guessing. Extra points outside the selected guide are reported in the status tooltip. The addon never buys points, resets talents, or changes your active specialization.

Cloud maintenance checks guide and game-source changes daily. Validated guide updates can be shipped as addon updates; game API changes may require a repair and testing. Update TalentTrail through your addon manager to receive new snapshots.
