1.0.0
First release. Optional survival roleplay for World of Warcraft - every value is fictional, and SurvivalRP never touches real health, movement, combat, stats, or any protected action.
Survival needs
- Hunger, thirst and fatigue simulate independently on a one-second tick using real elapsed time, and persist per character.
- Eating and drinking are detected from auras - by spell ID first, then by localised aura name, so any food sharing a generic name ("Food", "Drink", "Refreshment") is covered. A meal sits your character down and shallow-rests you until you stand.
- Fatigue responds to what you are doing: faster running, faster swimming, fastest in combat, a bump for jumping, roughly half drain sheltered in a city or inn - and being hungry or thirsty tires you faster.
- Rest starts from a sit/sleep emote, the HUD toggle, going AFK, or
/survivalrp rest, and ends the instant you move. Sitting recovers to 70%;/sleepand lying down recover deeper. Cold, heat, hunger or thirst make for poor rest.
Temperature and environment
- Real degrees Celsius (optional Fahrenheit display), with hypothermia and hyperthermia bands; your body drifts toward the equilibrium your exposure sets.
- Per-zone climate across the world, with subzone overrides and a day/night swing - deserts swing hard, caves and underwater not at all.
- Campfires raise local warmth (welcome in Winterspring, punishing in Tanaris); cities and inns shelter you toward comfort.
Clothing and wetness
- Clothing tags ride your transmog outfits (warm / light / armour / bare) -
tagged in the SurvivalRP tab of the transmog window or
/survivalrp wear. The addon watches the active outfit, so automatic outfit Situations swaps are noticed within a second. - Wetness is per outfit. Swimming soaks you and, after a short grace, the outfit you wear; the dry set in your bags stays dry - so changing clothes is a real survival move. Wet clothes take hours to dry (faster in heat and near fires, slower in cold) and make the air feel colder.
Races, classes and forms
- Per-race and per-class survival: each race has its own drain/recovery rates and comfortable band, and can lack a need entirely. Forsaken and undead Death Knights never thirst or tire and feed only by Cannibalize; Earthen neither eat nor drink; Blood Elves recover thirst from Arcane Torrent; some races rest better in the wild than in cities.
- Forms change who you are: Worgen (human/worgen), Dracthyr (visage/dragon) and Druid shapeshift forms retune survival, tracked automatically.
- Preservation (Forsaken): the undead slowly rot; Embalming Fluid preserves you, and as it worsens others see you look decayed.
Character window
- Left-click the HUD bag for a tabbed window: Character (pronoun and per-character options), Info (live rates, time-to-empty and your race/class/form rules) and Tips (general and race/class advice). A DM tab appears for group leaders (below).
Multiplayer
- State is shared over addon messages - group/guild broadcast plus direct whisper on target, mouseover or request - validated at a single trust boundary and treated as read-only. Nothing received is ever executed.
- Other characters are described, never quantified ("They look starving."), in prose that respects each player's chosen pronoun and reads correctly in every language. Your own values stay exact and yours.
- Privacy first: sharing on/off, share-with modes (everyone / interacted / nobody), a labels-only mode that transmits condition words and never numbers, and a managed block list. Privacy is enforced before anything is serialized.
- Remote panel and target-frame icon, with data freshness shown and stale peers dropped; silent peers are backed off, deliberate requests never suppressed, and undeliverable messages reported rather than dropped.
- Optional Total RP 3 support: roleplay names in our panels and survival lines beneath TRP3's character tooltip.
DM control
- A party leader, raid leader or raid assistant gets a DM tab to run survival as a storyteller: set a member's (or everyone's) hunger, thirst, fatigue and wetness to an exact value, apply a drain multiplier (faster, slower, or reversed), lock a need so it stops changing, snap body temperature, and impose weather. Authority is verified against the live group roster, and every member can opt out - nothing is forced.
Interface and localization
- Radial HUD with four need widgets, trend arrows, mouseover numbers, a wetness drop, drag-to-place, and scale/opacity.
- Details panel, text/sound/screen alerts (warning on the way down, once per band, with race/class-voiced fatigue yawns), Blizzard Settings integration, a block-list manager, and a network diagnostics window.
- Fully localized into every language the WoW client ships - German, French,
Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian,
Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) - plus European Portuguese;
follows your client automatically, with per-key English fallback.
Machine-translated for now - native-speaker polish welcome (see
docs/TRANSLATION.md). - Addon Compartment entry, a one-time greeting for new characters,
/survivalrp bugreportfor copyable diagnostics, and/survivalrp debug …tooling.
