What's new

[1.1.5] - 2026-08-30

New Features and Changes

  • Emotes are now blocked in Battlegrounds and Arenas - same treatment as the existing dead/boss-encounter blocks: the wheel refuses to open (with a warning) and the trigger icon desaturates while inside either. Detected via GetInstanceInfo() on zone change, so it applies immediately on entering/leaving through a loading screen.
  • Hovering the trigger while blocked (dead, boss encounter, or Battleground/Arena) now shows the reason in the tooltip instead of the usual keybind tips, reverting automatically once the restriction clears.
  • Denied-emote warnings now play a sound (the classic "quest failed" chime) alongside the chat message, for dead/boss-encounter/Battleground-Arena blocks and the Blizzard-security-block warning alike.

Bug Fixes

  • Emotes could silently fail (e.g. in Battlegrounds) with no error or warning - DoEmote calls the protected PerformEmote() function internally, which Blizzard sometimes blocks for insecure addon code (not always - Blizzard only restricts this in some combat situations, not all, so it isn't tied to a simple in-combat check). The block produces no Lua error, so previously nothing happened and nothing was shown. The wheel now listens for the real ADDON_ACTION_BLOCKED event and prints "Disabled by Blizzard Security Protection" whenever this actually happens, regardless of trigger method (mouse, keybind, or gamepad).
