What's new

Squizzcap - Changelog
=====================

V1.3.0 (2026-10-02)
-------------------

New:

- Group deaths. When someone in your group dies, Squizzcap now saves their
death recap as well as yours: open it from All deaths and you get the
same window -- killed by, the health graph, every hit, the sources -- in
their class colour, with This fight showing everything that hit THEM.
Their deaths are picked up between pulls (and while you lie dead), so
they appear in the list a moment after the fight ends, not mid-fight.
Healing received is yours only: the game reports heals landing on you
  and no one else.
- All deaths shows whose each death was, and a button at the bottom
switches between everyone's deaths and just yours. The run summary is
  still about your own deaths.
- DPS Report: clicking a player on its Deaths list opens their death here.
- Turn group deaths off under Options, "Save group members' deaths too".

Removed:

- /squizzcap probe, the test command for whether group deaths could be
  read at all. They can.

V1.2.0 (2026-09-29)
-------------------

New:

- A "This fight" tab: everything that hit you over the whole pull, not just
the last few seconds, from Blizzard's own damage meter. Each spell shows
who cast it, how much it did to you and its share of the total, with
Blizzard's Avoidable and Deadly markers; hover one for the spell's
tooltip. It is read the moment you die, so deaths from before this update
  don't have it.
- The All deaths tab now sums up each run under its title: how many of
its deaths came from an avoidable killing blow, and anything that killed
you more than once ("Fel Missiles killed you 3 times").
- Avoidable hits are counted: each death in All deaths shows how many of
its last hits were avoidable, the run summary adds them up, and This
fight shows how much of the fight's damage was avoidable.
- More control over saved deaths: Delete this run and Clear all buttons at
the bottom of the All deaths tab (each needs a second click), a Keep
history option (the last 5, 10, 20 or 50 runs; 20 as before), and an
optional Start fresh each Mythic+ key that clears earlier runs when a
key starts, so All deaths only ever shows the key you are in.

Fixed:

- A death could be saved twice, showing as two identical entries in All
deaths (seen in an arena skirmish), because the game can report one death
twice. The second report is now recognised and ignored.
- The This fight tab could be missing when the game was still hiding the
damage meter at the moment you died (seen in an arena). It now tries
again over the next few seconds and adds the tab once it can.
/squizzcap fight says why a death has no This fight tab.

V1.1.0 (2026-09-28)
------------------

New:

- Healing you received is now part of the recap. The health graph rises
exactly when each heal landed (in green) instead of drawing an estimated
slope between hits, so the whole line is real data.
- A Healing Received figure beside Damage Taken, and a "+48,300 healed"
line between hits in the Hits list showing what landed in each gap.
Heal amounts include overhealing, and the figure says so.
- The recap now reaches back 5 seconds before your death instead of
stopping at Blizzard's last 10 hits, which in a burst can be well under a
  second. Blizzard's 10 hits, including the killing blow, are unchanged;
older hits are added from the game's own hit feed, with a stand-in icon
for their damage school. The game names no spell or source for them and
can miss or add a hit in a burst, so they and your health at them are
  marked with ~ as approximate.
- A welcome window on first install and a short "what's new" note after
each update. /squizzcap notes opens it again.
- Deaths from before this update still show the old estimated graph.

V1.0.0 (2026-09-27)
------------------

First public release.

- A compact death summary pops up the moment you die - what killed you,
how hard it hit and how fast you went down - and stays through release,
resurrection and loading screens until you close it. Click Details for
  the full recap.
- Killed By: the spell that killed you, who cast it, the damage and
overkill, and Blizzard's Avoidable / Deadly markers.
- At a glance: how fast you went down (e.g. 100% to 0 in 1.8s, burst or
worn down), total damage taken, and how much was absorbed, resisted or
  blocked.
- A health graph of the hits leading up to your death. Hover a hit for the
spell's tooltip, click it to jump to its details.
- What Hit You: the damage split by spell at a glance.
- Hits, Sources and All deaths tabs to dig into every hit, every enemy and
  spell, and every earlier death.
- Every death is saved for your character and grouped by dungeon or raid
visit, so you can look back over a whole key or raid night afterwards.
- Link a death recap to chat, or post a one-line summary to your group.
- Rather see the full recap straight away? Choose it in the options.
- /squizzcap opens the options, /squizzcap show opens your last death.
