Spoonard’s Journal: Character Chronicle

Spoonard’s Journal: Character Chronicle is a World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary addon that records the story of your character as you play.

Rather than acting as another combat meter or quest tracker, Spoonard’s Journal builds a persistent history of your adventures. It remembers the places you visit, NPCs you meet, people you travel with, quests you complete, bosses you fight, deaths, discoveries, trades, conversations, milestones and memorable moments.

Those events are then turned into grounded first-person journal entries written from your character’s perspective. The narrative system uses the events that actually happened during your play session, with hundreds of wording variations, contextual reactions and several writing styles so entries feel less repetitive while avoiding invented events.

Over time, the addon develops into a full character Chronicle.

The addon is designed around one core rule: it should never invent your character’s history.

If the journal says you met someone, fought something, died, discovered a place or completed a quest, that event came from your recorded gameplay. The writing can give those facts personality, humour and continuity, but the history remains yours.

The longer you play a character, the more useful the Chronicle becomes. Familiar places stop being treated as new. Regular players become recognised companions. Difficult enemies can become recurring nemeses. Old adventures remain searchable, and important moments can be pinned or annotated with your own memories.
