Social Filter Forever

Social Filter Forever is a combined chat and social-interaction filter built for WoW Forever. It is designed to clean up public chat, reduce spam and unwanted real-world arguments, and give you precise control over who can interact with you—without simply hiding every message that contains a single keyword.

Smart Chat Filtering

Social Filter Forever evaluates messages using multiple signals instead of relying only on basic word blacklists.

It can filter or detect:

• Politics and real-world arguments
• Religion-related discussion
• Toxic or abusive messages
• Hate speech and high-confidence slurs
• Gold selling and RMT advertising
• Boosting and paid-service advertising
• Scam and phishing patterns
• Layer/invite spam
• Duplicate and near-duplicate spam
• Suspicious links and disguised domains

The filter considers message context, channel, sender behavior, repeated offenses, and combinations of weaker signals before deciding what to hide.

Recoverable Hidden Messages

Filtered messages do not simply disappear.

Social Filter Forever provides an SCF Hidden chat tab and review tools where you can inspect filtered messages, see why they were filtered, restore them when appropriate, and correct false positives.

The addon can show:

• Filter category
• Score and threshold
• Matched words or phrases
• Context that affected the decision
• Sender and channel information

You remain in control of the final decision.

Custom Rules and Learning

Create your own filtering rules using words or phrases, and protect terms that should not trigger filtering.

Social Filter Forever can also learn from your corrections so the filter becomes better suited to how you personally use chat.

Invite Filter

The included Invite Filter provides protection against unwanted social interactions.

Protection modes include:

Depending on the selected mode, Social Filter Forever can:

• Decline group invites from strangers
• Allow friends and guildmates through
• Hide whispers from strangers
• Decline unwanted duels
• Use Blizzard's Block Trades setting
• Hide chat from blocked players
• Keep names off screen with Quiet Mode
• Silence declined invite and duel sounds

Custom mode lets you choose exactly which protections are active.

People & Guild Filtering

Social Filter Forever includes dedicated player and guild management.

For players you can:

• Allow
• Mute
• Block
• Track repeat offenders
• Temporarily show blocked players while grouped

Guild rules support both:

• Exact — match one specific guild name
• Contains — match a word or phrase anywhere in a guild name

The addon learns player-to-guild relationships while you play and can also perform manual guild scans to discover online members that match your rules.

Known guild members can be reviewed directly from the Guilds page.

Channel Control

Choose where Chat Filter is active, including supported public and social channels such as:

• Trade
• Services
• Looking For Group
• Guild Recruitment
• Local Defense
• Say
• Yell
• Whispers
• Instance Chat
• Communities
• Party, Raid, and Guild where enabled

Trade uses normal filter sensitivity while recognizing legitimate commerce patterns so ordinary WTS/WTB, item links, prices, crafting, and service messages are less likely to be mistaken for unwanted content.

Setup Wizard

A guided setup wizard is available on first run and can be opened again at any time.

It provides sensible starting configurations while still allowing full manual control afterward.
