Skull Mashers Raid Tools (SMRT)

A guild toolbox for raiders: independent tools you switch on one at a time. First: Private Auras, a raid HUD of debuffs by role or raid group, with aura filters, per-spell sound alerts and a shared drag-and-drop edit mode.

Skull Mashers Raid Tools (SMRT)

A guild toolbox of raid tools you switch on one at a time.

SMRT is not one addon that does one thing — it's a single install that grows into a set of small, independent raid utilities, each solving one specific problem and each toggled on its own. You don't get a pile of features you'll never touch: you enable the tools you need, and each one keeps its own settings and its own place on your screen.

The first tool is Private Auras: a compact HUD that tells you what's on you and your raid without watching a wall of unit frames.

Built from scratch for retail (12.1, "Midnight"), with no external dependencies to install.

Private Auras: know what's on you and your raid

A row of debuff icons for every unit you care about, split into boxes the way a raid actually thinks about itself:

  • Nine boxes: Self, Target, Focus, Other tanks, Healers, Melee, Ranged, Unknown role, and a Custom players list for the people you always want to watch regardless of role.
  • Plus one box per raid group (Group 1 to Group 8), off until you switch them on. Turn on just your own group and its players leave their role boxes for it.
  • All debuffs, or just the private ones, picked per box. "All" shows everything harmful on the unit; "Private" shows only the boss's private auras (the ones only you, or only certain roles, can see).
  • Filter what "All" shows: hide the debuffs you applied, keep one dispel type, only boss mechanics or high-priority auras, or cap the duration. Set it once for every box, or give a box its own values.
  • 1 to 10 icons per row (3 by default; private auras show at most 5, the game's own cap), with cooldown spiral, stack count and a dispel-color border, plus the unit's name in its class color. Choose the countdown number size (or hide it) and switch the swipe off if it gets in the way.
  • Every setting applies live, no /reload. During a boss encounter the game locks the icons already on screen, so a size change made mid-fight lands when the encounter ends.
  • Sort each box by raid order, name, class, or raid group — Custom players always keep the order you dragged them into, and a Group button adds people straight from your raid.
  • Show it only where it matters: raids, dungeons & delves, arenas, battlegrounds, or open world, chosen per box.

Sound alerts you can actually hear

Silence isn't an option when a debuff needs a dispel now. Private Auras can play a sound the moment a tracked spell is applied, stacks, or is removed:

  • Pick a sound from a mechanics browser built from the bosses BigWigs and LittleWigs already know about — instance, then boss, then the spell — or type in a spell ID by hand for anything not in the list. Right-click any sound to preview it before committing. Sounds picked from the browser only play inside their own instance, so they never fire out of context.
  • Sounds are set per HUD box, and each box can be muted on its own. A specific character can override their box's sound or go silent, without changing anyone else's.
  • Choose which sound channel it plays on (Master, Effects, Music, Ambience or Dialog), so it fits how you've already split your WoW audio.

One edit mode for every tool

There's no separate "move this frame" screen per tool. Every SMRT tool places its boxes through the same edit mode: drag to position, arrow keys to nudge, snap to the edges and centers of your other frames, anchor one element to another so they move together, and match one box's width or height to another's. Learn it once, use it for every tool SMRT ever ships.

Open it from the minimap button — left click for options, right click for edit mode — or from the chat line, without hunting for it in a menu.

Requirements

  • World of Warcraft: Retail (Interface 120100, "Midnight"). No Classic support.
  • No external dependencies — the UI library it uses is bundled with the addon.

Languages

English, plus Spanish (esES / esMX).

Status — please read

SMRT is young and growing. Private Auras is the only tool so far; more will ship as the SkullMashers guild needs them, not on a fixed roadmap. Expect the occasional rough edge — bug reports are very welcome.

Commands

  • /smrt config — open the options window (same as left-clicking the minimap button)
  • /smrt unlock — open edit mode (same as right-clicking the minimap button)
  • /smrt tools — list the tools and whether each is running
  • /smrt pa — Private Auras status (which boxes are shown, in what mode)
  • /smrt pa who — which box each member of your group lands in, and why
  • /smrt status — the addon's status and the list of tools

Feedback / bugs

Leave them in the comments here on CurseForge — the Lua error text (from BugSack or the in-game error frame) helps the most.
