Description
Coffer
All your riches in one window.
Coffer replaces your bags with a single window that also knows about your bank, your warband bank, your guild bank and your currencies. Everything is grouped the way you decide, searchable by anything the tooltip says, and readable at a glance — including the inventory of characters you haven't logged into in weeks.
Built from scratch for retail (12.0.7), with no dependencies to install.
One window per vault
Bags, character bank, warband bank, guild bank and currencies each get their own window, and each remembers its own size, position, grouping and sort. Open one from the toolbar, from the minimap button, or just walk up to a banker — Coffer opens every vault that banker serves.
The old bank tab strip is gone: banks get a side dock where every tab is a button. Left-click hides that tab's items from the grid, right-click focuses it, and it works exactly like the bag dock on your main window. Same gesture, same meaning, everywhere.
Categories that actually work
Items land in categories you define, not in whatever bag you happened to have room in.
- Build rules from item type, quality, binding, expansion, equip slot, marker, or any word in the item's name or tooltip text — include and exclude.
- Pin specific items by dragging them onto a category, or by item ID.
- Export and import categories as a string, so you can share a setup or move it between accounts.
- Filter with one click from the category bar, which you can put on top of the window or as a rail down either side, with or without labels.
If you'd rather not use categories at all, group by expansion, quality, type, equip location, binding, favorites — or by your actual bags, which mirrors your real inventory layout, empty slots and all.
Find anything
Search by name or by anything printed in the tooltip — "haste", "profession", "cooldown". The search bar drops down from the header so it never covers the grid, and Escape closes it.
Sort each window by quality, name, item level, count, value or newest-first — and override that per category by right-clicking its header. Favorites and brand-new items can be pinned above everything else.
Know what you're looking at
Every cell tells you what it is before you hover it:
- Corner badges for BoE and warband-tradeable items, tinted by quality.
- Grey badges for vendor junk, a "!" for quest items.
- A red border on gear this character can't use.
- The equipment set's own icon on anything one of your sets claims — even on cached alt items.
- Pinned sections for new items and gear you just took off.
Every one of these can be turned off individually.
Your alts, offline
Coffer caches what every character on your account is carrying. Switch to any of them from the window header and browse their bags and bank without logging in.
That data also lands where you actually need it: item and currency tooltips gain a per-character breakdown, so you know who's holding the reagent you're short of — and how much sits in the warband bank.
Housekeeping, one click away
- Auto-deposit into the active bank, with or without reagents.
- Sell junk at any merchant — and mark items as junk, or as never-junk, yourself.
- Disenchant straight from the window.
- Combine partial stacks scattered across your bags.
- Deposit and withdraw warband gold, and see your account-wide total.
- Free space and money live in the footer, and clicking free space runs Blizzard's clean-up.
Favorites are protected: the junk sweep will never sell something you starred.
Make it yours
- Themes — four base palettes, five accents (including your class color, or a custom one), two fonts, optional text outline, and window scale.
- Appearance — cell size, spacing, icon zoom, desaturation and quality borders, per window.
- Profiles — account-level, assigned per character. Copy, rename, and pick which one new characters get.
Coffer ships with a set of defaults that are meant to be used, not fixed: a tall backpack, wide banks, categories on, and a compact grid.
For addon authors
A public Coffer-1.0 API (via LibStub) lets you add your own item columns, sort methods, and
extra data on items.
Requirements
- World of Warcraft: Retail (Interface 120007). No Classic support.
- No dependencies — the libraries it uses are bundled.
Languages
English, plus Spanish (esES / esMX). Translations welcome.
Status — please read
Coffer is pre-1.0 and under active development. It's stable enough for daily use, but you should expect rough edges and occasional setting resets between versions. Bug reports are very welcome.
Not implemented yet:
- List view (spreadsheet-style columns) is built but disabled while the grid gets finished.
- Guild bank transaction log.
- Void storage — the API is dead in modern retail; this is not planned.
