SimpleClassicThreatNameplates – Threat on Blizzard Nameplates without UI Overhauls

One of the biggest issues I’ve run into in Classic dungeons and raids is keeping track of threat without cluttering my screen. Most addons that provide threat information either require full threat meters or completely replace Blizzard’s nameplates with custom ones.

I wanted something lighter:

• ✅ Works with the default Blizzard nameplates (no replacement, no bloat).
• ✅ Shows threat values directly on nameplates (how much you’re ahead or behind).
• ✅ Colors health bars based on threat status (aggro, about to lose, off-tank, pet tanking, etc.).
• ✅ Fully configurable: choose when numbers appear (solo, group, raid, pet), color scheme, and whether plates are recolored.
• ✅ Lightweight and simple – /sctnp opens a small config window, no giant UI overhaul.

Who benefits?

• Tanks – Instantly see when you’re losing aggro and to whom.
• DPS/Healers – Know how close you are to pulling threat without running a full threat meter.
• Pet classes – See when your pet has aggro.

ℹ️ Important note:
This addon is essentially feature complete. The goal is to provide a clean, lightweight way to see threat on Blizzard’s nameplates — nothing more. Bugs will be fixed, but this project will not grow into a big all-in-one nameplate overhaul.

There are similar addon available. The difference is that these do not show actual threat values. For tanks, these numbers are essential to know when aggro is secure or slipping — that’s why SimpleClassicThreatNameplates exists.
