v2.1.1
What's new
# Simple Nameplates
## 2.1.1 (2026-08-13)
- Added a Bar Height setting to both the Health Bars and Cast Bars tabs. Leave it at zero to keep following Blizzard's own Style and Size options, which is still the default.
- The cast bar's spell icon now scales with the cast bar height, in the layouts that draw the icon inside the bar.
- Non-interruptible casts now keep showing the spell's own icon, instead of Blizzard's shield sitting small and off-centre in the enlarged icon slot. The bar still wears the non-interruptible color, so nothing is lost by dropping the shield.
- Fixed the interrupt color painting over the cast bar's black border, which it did for the whole time the color was shown.
- Fixed the interrupt color never appearing in dungeons and raids.
## 2.1 (2026-08-13)
- Cast bars now show a color of their own when a cast is interrupted or fails, the way Blizzard's cast bars do. It fills to the point the cast reached and takes priority over the important, non-interruptible, and cast-targeting-you colors, so an interrupt is still obvious on a cast that was already highlighted.
- Added an Interrupted color and texture to the Cast Bars settings tab.
## 2.0 (2026-08-11)
- Simple Nameplates now bundles every library it needs. The settings window no longer depends on Simple Boss Mods or any other Ace3 addon being installed.
- Every nameplate CVar the addon touches is now session only. Nameplate view distance and debuff padding are restored on logout or reload, along with the name, threat, and cast bar CVars that already behaved this way, so your Blizzard nameplate settings are never permanently changed.
- Fixed "Always Show Names" turning itself back on. Anyone who had disabled it before the option moved into the font settings had the choice silently discarded.
- Fixed the target frame in Simple Unit Frames keeping a previous target's quest color instead of updating to the new one.
- Removed the Quest (Hostile) color. It could never apply, because hostile quest mobs are already colored by their combat role as a caster or melee mob.
- Rebuilt the internals around shared drawing and refresh helpers, so health bars, cast bars, aura icons, and the threat and target overlays all go through one code path. No visual changes intended.
Releases before 2.0 predate this changelog.
