Description
Simple Nameplates detects mob types the same way Plater and Platynator do, using the level and classification math that tells bosses, minibosses, casters, melee and trivial mobs apart. Credit to Platynator for the dungeon level baseline, which keeps classification correct even when you're under-level for the content.
The difference is that it doesn't build its own nameplates. It styles Blizzard's frames as they appear, so the performance cost is close to nothing. There's no update loop and no polling anywhere in the addon. It also means Blizzard's own nameplate options keep working, and you can combine them with anything you set here.
The trade-off is that it won't go as deep as Plater or Platynator. If you mostly want clean bars in colours that tell you what you're looking at, that's what this does.
Features
- Colour and texture per mob type: bosses, minibosses, casters, melee, rares, trivial mobs, quest mobs and the usual friendly, neutral and hostile reactions
- Colour and texture per cast bar state: normal, important casts, non-interruptible, and casts aimed at you
- Font, size, outline and shadow for names, health values and cast text, plus an always show names option
- Threat display that knows your role. It warns damage dealers as they pull threat, and tanks as their threat lead slips. Pick a pulsing ring, Blizzard's flare, or nothing, with an optional threat colour and texture
- Target indicator with a border, an optional chevron overlay in four sizes, and adjustable opacity
- A flat look throughout, with a clean 1px border on health bars, cast bars and aura icons
