Simple Guild Herald

A simple guild recruitment broadcaster for trade, general and custom channels. Set up your guild recruiters for success, standardizing broadcasts to recruit those interested in your guild. Other addons focus on mass invites. Simple Guild Herald focuses on sending guild invites to only those who whisper back, truly interested recruits.

Define a handful of rotating recruitment messages and send them to a chosen chat channel on a reminder cadence, with a visible countdown and a response log for whoever whispers back.

Blizzard doesn't allow addons to send chat messages automatically, so this one doesn't try to. Instead, it reminds you when it's time to send the next message and queues one up from your list, you still click Send yourself.

Renamed from "Simple Guild Recruiter". A different addon was already published under that name. If you have the old version installed, delete its Interface/AddOns/SimpleGuildRecruiter folder after installing this one as the two use completely separate settings and don't share any configuration, and leaving both installed causes a duplicate minimap button and an unreliable /sgr command.

Features

• Rotating messages a pool of 2-10 recruitment messages (round-robin or random-no-repeat), each validated against WoW's 255-byte chat cap
• User-defined channels not hardcoded to Trade/General; add or remove any channel
• Reminder icon a small draggable icon glows and plays a sound when it's time to send the next message, with a whisper-count badge
• Whisper response log records each new sender's first whisper with class/level/icon decoration, a native right-click menu (Whisper/Ignore/Report), and dedicated action links:
  • Who opens the in-game Who List, populated with that player's info
  • Invite sends a guild invite directly
• Actively Recruiting toggle a single master switch gates both the reminder and the whisper log, and automatically turns off when you enter an instance (no automatic re-enable on exit)
• Minimap button opens/closes the window
• Key binding bind a key to open the window (unbound by default, under Key Bindings -> Simple Guild Herald)

Usage

/sgr also works everywhere /sgh does, if you're used to the addon's previous name.

Reminder interval, rotation mode (round-robin/random), reminder sound, the minimap button, and the key binding are all configured from Options -> AddOns -> Simple Guild Herald, or via the settings gear in the window's footer.
