Priest Rotation Helper

Priest Rotation Helper is a lightweight, DoT-maintenance PvE advisor for Shadow Priests in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Anniversary.

Keeping Shadow Word: Pain and Vampiric Touch up is the biggest lever you have as a Shadow Priest - this addon watches both timers and tells you exactly when to refresh them, cast Mind Blast or Shadow Word: Death, or just fill with Mind Flay.

Shadowform -> Vampiric Touch -> Shadow Word: Pain -> Mind Blast -> Shadow Word: Death -> Mind Flay filler.

The addon only recommends actions. It never casts abilities, changes equipment, targets enemies, or automates player input.

Features

• Clean icon-first combat display with a large primary recommendation.
• Full ability reason, mana, and Shadow Word: Pain / Vampiric Touch timers available by hovering the primary icon.
• Cast-time-aware DoT maintenance: Vampiric Touch starts early enough to land at expiration, while instant Shadow Word: Pain avoids clipping.
• Shadowform restoration and movement-aware cast filtering.
• Shadow Word: Death used as normal rotation damage, with a player-health safety floor because surviving targets reflect its damage.
• Optional Vampiric Embrace upkeep for the talent, applied only to targets expected to live long enough to matter.
• Action-button highlighting for Blizzard bars, Bartender4, and Dominos.
• Compact cooldown icons for Shadowfiend and trinkets.
• In-game settings under Escape -> Options -> AddOns, or /srh.
• Built-in deterministic priority self-test.
• Privacy-safe 60-second diagnostic report for useful bug reports.

Priority

1. Shadowform, if the talent is known and the stance is missing.
2. Vampiric Touch, timed so the cast lands at expiration.
3. Shadow Word: Pain, at expiration.
4. Mind Blast, on cooldown.
5. Shadow Word: Death, while the Priest's health is safe.
6. Vampiric Embrace, if you've turned it on and the target will live long enough.
7. Mind Flay to fill the gaps - cancel it the moment Mind Blast or Shadow Word: Death come off cooldown.

Shadow Priests have no AoE spell in TBC, so there's no separate multi-target mode - just switch targets normally and the addon gives correct advice for whichever one you're on.

Commands and testing

• /srh or /priesthelper — open settings.
• /srh sim check — run the deterministic priority checks.
• /srh record — record up to 60 seconds of anonymous decision data.
• /srh report — open the selected, copyable diagnostic report.

If a recommendation looks wrong, please include the complete /srh report in the Priest channel on Discord. It contains no account, character, realm, or target names; no chat, GUIDs, or item links.

Scope

Devouring Plague, Starshards, and Shadowguard are intentionally left out

• they're all race-locked Priest abilities (Undead, Night Elf, and Dwarf respectively), not something every Shadow Priest can even cast.

This rotation was checked against Wowhead, Icy Veins, and Warcraft Tavern's TBC Shadow Priest guides, and validated with a 13-scenario deterministic self-check suite, since the author does not currently have a max-level Shadow Priest. Player feedback from mid-level and level-70 content will drive the next updates.
