SessionScout 0.2.0-alpha.4 — Forever (experimental)
What's new
SessionScout 0.2.0-alpha.4 — Forever (experimental)
An opt-in test build for WoW Forever 1.60.1, interface 16001. The default client-tested release remains 0.1.0 on CurseForge.
Fix: completed reminders after a reset
A daily or weekly task could still show Task completed / Undo after its recorded server reset when Scout was closed and no inventory/combat event refreshed the screen. Its completion had already expired in the task model.
The visible completion card now refreshes every 30 seconds and clears on the first refresh after that reset. It does not choose another task. Hiding, dismissing or undoing the card stops the timer; unfinished and one-time tasks do not start this timer. Task definitions, saved completion rules and the SavedVariables format are unchanged.
This build also includes the alpha.3 default-position adjustment for a tracker without a saved position. Existing saved positions are retained. The default can still overlap other UI; drag the tracker background to suit your layout.
Included from alpha.2
Choose your own task, keep its reminder visible with Scout closed, and use Done, Undo, Open Scout or Choose next from the tracker. An optional Guide: Library books link opens the separately installed Librarian Books Forever journal. Opening a guide does not complete a Scout task. No companion addon is required for ordinary tasks, and none is bundled.
Validation and limits
92 automated checks passed: 15 model, 58 mocked WoW integration and 19 tooling checks, plus Lua 5.1 syntax and source CI. Two new regressions reproduce the stale card against the old UI and pass with the fix. Checks also cover timer cancellation, no automatic selection and preservation of unrelated progress and settings.
The new timer has not been tested at an actual server reset in WoW. Earlier scoped client checks used alpha.2 and covered task selection, tracker display, Done/Undo and opening Librarian. Manual movement was subsequently reported on the local alpha.3 build. Restoration of a moved position and chosen task after reload still needs client verification. These earlier checks are not an alpha.4 client-test claim. See the tracker test record.
Manual installation
Download SessionScout-0.2.0-alpha.4-forever.zip, not GitHub's source-code
archives. With WoW closed, back up the existing addon and extract the ZIP's
SessionScout folder into your Forever Interface/AddOns directory. The
current beta uses _classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns. Keep your SavedVariables
when updating. Start WoW, enable the addon and use /scout.
Retail and other Classic flavors are not supported by this package. App-based installation/update is unverified. No automatic installation is performed.

The local and CI package digests match.
Report concrete results or bugs in the issue tracker. Include addon/game versions and what happened; omit names, chat and complete SavedVariables. Feedback that the addon was unnecessary is useful too.
