What's new

[1.1.2] - 2026-07-21

New Features

  • Ability Settings has a live glow preview. Select an ability and expand its Glow section and a window opens beside the options showing that ability's icon with the glow actually running, so an animated style can be judged without hunting for the icon on your bars. The icon is drawn with the container's own size, border and zoom, so the glow is judged against the icon it will actually sit on. A toggle at the top switches between the two glows the section holds, and moving any glow slider switches the preview to whichever one you are editing.

Improvements

  • Every Layout preview now opens in its own window beside the options window instead of a fixed strip at the top of the page. This covers the Essential, Utility and Auras containers, Bars, Cursor, and Custom Bars. The preview is drawn at the exact size the settings ask for, so adding rows, columns or bars grows the window rather than shrinking what is in it, and the settings themselves now start at the top of the page.
  • Every Layout preview draws its text overlays on the icons themselves rather than on a single magnified sample beside the grid. The countdown, charge count, keybind and aura stack appear on each icon at the size and position they will have in game, so you can judge the whole bar at once instead of one icon in isolation. Sample values vary across the icons so a wider countdown or a modified keybind is visible too.
  • The Bars preview now shows the full bar width and every bar up to your Max Bars setting. It previously cut the bars off at the panel edge and showed at most four of them, so Bar Width and Max Bars were the two settings it could not demonstrate.
  • The Cursor preview now draws the pointer, the icons and the distance between them at their real sizes. Shrinking the scene to fit the old strip also shrank the cursor offsets, which is the setting the preview exists to show.
  • The Cursor preview now holds the pointer still and moves the bar around it when you change Anchor To Cursor, matching what happens in game. The four anchor settings previously all looked much the same, because the pointer shifted along with the bar.
  • The Bar Layout grid on the CDM Containers page now opens in its own window beside the options window instead of a band pinned above the ability palette. The grid was previously capped at a fixed width and shrank its own slots once it outgrew that cap, and whatever height it needed came out of the page. The slots now stay their proper size, the grid grows the window rather than the page, and the palette you drag from keeps the full height of the page. The container name no longer crowds the first slot on the rail, and the Bars container's placeholder rows are no longer wider than they need to be. The line of instructions under the heading has become a help icon on the rail, so a tall narrow container no longer sits in a window sized to fit a sentence.
  • The Bar Layout grid on the Custom Bars page now opens in its own window beside the options window, matching the CDM Containers page. The layout and the entry list no longer share the page's height, the grid keeps its slots at full size instead of shrinking them to fit, and the Available Entries list gets the room the layout gave back.
  • The Columns slider for the Essential, Utility and Auras containers now goes up to 10 rows, matching the Cursor container. Each container holds Icons Per Row times Columns, so a taller grid also raises how many abilities it can take before the rest go to overflow.
  • Cooldown text on the Essential, Utility, Auras and Cursor containers now uses a thin outline by default, so the countdown stays readable against a bright icon. Existing profiles keep whatever outline they already have; the Outline setting is unchanged and can still be set to any of the options.
  • The Cursor bar now steps clear of the mouse pointer when you switch Anchor To Cursor. Anchoring below the cursor used to leave the icons sitting underneath the pointer graphic until you dialled in a Y offset yourself. Offsets you have set are never moved, and nothing changes until you pick an anchor.
  • The Auras container is no longer dressed up with a fake countdown and stack count on screen while its Layout tab is open. The Layout preview window shows that instead, on sample class icons drawn at your configured icon size, so styling no longer means looking away from the options to judge it. Your real auras are left alone.
  • The Buffs container is no longer filled with placeholder bars and forced visible while its Layout tab is open. The Layout preview window shows the bar styling instead, so the on-screen bar is left alone. The placeholders still appear on the positioning screen, where an empty container would otherwise have nothing to drag.
  • Glow settings no longer preview by running the glow on the real icon out on your bars, which meant a slot could be forced visible mid-fight to show it. The preview window handles it instead.
  • An empty Auras container now shows three placeholder icons on the positioning screen, so it can be seen and dragged without adding an aura to it first. This matches how the Buffs container already behaved.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed abilities intermittently showing the greyed-out "not tracked" border after logging in, and occasionally an icon appearing in a container it was not added to. Reloading cleared it. Blizzard reuses its Cooldown Manager icon frames and can move one between sections while the game is still loading; the container that owned the ability stopped finding it and drew a placeholder instead. Containers now follow an ability to wherever its frame has been moved.
  • Fixed the Cursor container showing a blank name at the left of its Bar Layout rail. Every other container labels itself there.

PTR (12.1)

  • Added Custom Auras, a new section for tracking any buff or debuff by spell ID, including auras the Cooldown Manager does not offer. Tracked auras appear only while they are active. Set them up under Custom Auras in the options.
  • Auras are defined once in a shared list and can then be placed in as many containers as you like. Each aura is set to watch you, your target, your focus or your pet, as a buff or a debuff.
  • Icons and bars have separate containers with their own settings, and you can create as many of each as you want. Every container has its own position, anchor, size and spacing.
  • Each container's layout opens in its own window beside the options, showing a preview of a single icon or bar at its real size as you change settings. Drag an aura from your list into a slot, drag between slots to rearrange, middle-click to clear a slot, or right-click for options.
  • Container size is set by Icons Per Row and Columns, or by Number of Bars. Empty slots keep their place, so your auras stay where you put them.
  • Appearance options cover bar texture, bar fill and background colour, and icon zoom.
  • Countdown text, stack counts and bar names each have their own font, size, outline, colour and position offsets.
  • Bars show the aura's icon attached to the left edge and sized to the bar, with the stack count on the icon and the spell name along the bar.
  • Custom Auras containers can be placed on the positioning screen and used as anchor targets by other frames, the same as any other container.
