RuneTorch

RuneTorch is a font management tool for World of Warcraft that overrides global system fonts. It allows you to change the aesthetic of your UI, chat, and tooltips without manually modifying game files.

Features

Global Font Override: Change almost every UI font (menus, chat, tooltips, names) with a single click.
SharedMedia (LSM) Support: Fully compatible with LibSharedMedia-3.0. Any font added by other addons or libraries automatically appears in RuneTorch.
Classic Compatibility: Works on WoW Retail, Classic Era (including Season of Discovery), and Progression Classic (MoP Classic).
Custom Font Support: Easily add your own .ttf or .otf files via the included CustomFonts.lua.

Integrated Synergy

One of the primary benefits of RuneTorch is its role as a central font hub. Any font bundled with or added to RuneTorch is automatically shared with popular addons such as:

Plater Nameplates
Details! Damage Meter
MikScrollingBattleText (MSBT)
NameplateSCT

This eliminates the need to duplicate font files across multiple addon folders.

Limitations: 3D Combat Damage Numbers

World of Warcraft renders standard damage and healing numbers in 3D world space (the World Frame). Due to engine limitations, these cannot always be overridden dynamically by Lua addons.

The Solution: If you require 100% reliable overriding of the default 3D combat text, the "physical override" method is recommended:
1. Create a folder named Fonts in your WoW root directory (e.g., _retail_\Fonts\).
2. Place your font file inside and rename it to DAMAGE.ttf.
Note: If you use combat addons like Plater or MSBT, you do not need this physical folder. You can simply select the RuneTorch fonts within those addons' settings.

Bundled Fonts

RuneTorch comes with a selection of high-quality fonts:

Japanese Support: Noto Sans JP, IBM Plex Sans JP, Zen Kaku Gothic New, Gen Interface JP.
Western Styles: PT Sans Narrow, Montserrat Bold, Bebas Neue.

Commands

/rt or /runetorch: Open the configuration console.

日本語でのご利用について / Notes for Japanese Users

RuneTorchは、WoW内のフォントを瞬時に上書きするアドオンです。インストールするだけで日本語フォントを利用可能にします。Fontsフォルダにフォントを入れたりSharedMediaを介した日本語フォントの登録は不要です。また、SharedMediaや他アドオンの登録フォントを利用することも可能です。

文字化け防止: 中国語フォント（簡体字・繁体字）の使用による連鎖的な文字化けを防ぐための判定機能を備えています。
ハイブリッド表示: 欧米フォントを選択しても、日本語部分は自動的に美しい日本語フォントで補完されます。
