Royalties 1.6.0
What's new
Interface 120100 (patch 12.1). All Mythic+ Group Starter, from the first
evening it was used by somebody other than its author.
New — a key can be re-advertised
Pressing Post to guild while a key is already up used to refuse and point at
/royal key close. Taking the listing down is the opposite of what a host means
when they press it again: they are still looking.
- Posting an open listing now bumps it — same key, same start time, current needs — at most once a minute, because guild chat is the scarce resource and a host who is waiting will press the button every time they look at it.
- The bump also re-sends the listing to Royalties users, which is the only way somebody who logged in after the original post ever gets a Join button.
- The button reads Post to guild or Bump to guild depending on the state,
with a readout for when the next bump is ready.
/royal key bumptoo.
New — post from a group you have already started
Two friends decide to go, one of them posts, and the guild used to be asked for a tank, a healer and three dps — for a party of two.
- Everyone already in the group keeps their seat, so the announcement asks for what is genuinely missing and nobody in the group is invited to it again.
- The same applies to anyone the host invites by hand while a listing is open. They used to be invisible to the addon, which kept advertising their slot.
- Guild chat and the popup both now say how full the group is — "3/5 in". "Needs 2 dps" read identically whether it was three people about to walk in or a host who had found nobody.
Fixed — the Join button did nothing
The popup arrived, Join did nothing, and whispering inv dps immediately after
worked. It was the same mistake twice: a reply addressed to one person was being
put on a channel. It went to the joiner's own party rather than to the host, and
the guild-wide alternative was refused by the server while the addon reported
success, because nothing checked what the send returned.
A Join reply is a whisper to the host now, which needs neither side to share a guild, a party or a realm.
- The listing broadcast was narrowing to the party from the first taker onward, so the popup stopped reaching the guild the moment the host had company. It has been that way since the Group Starter shipped, hidden by everyone falling back to whispers.
- The popup no longer claims to be waiting for an answer it never sent. A failed send says so and points at the whisper, and a Join that draws no reply in twenty seconds offers the button back.
- The host hears about refusals it issues. Somebody turned away because the guild roster could not be read was previously a whisper only they saw.
Fixed — Royalties was guessing party roles
Guild parties usually have no roles assigned, and the addon filled the gap by seating people in the first free slot. Host tank plus two dps would seat one of them as the healer, ask the guild for two dps, and send five people into a key with no healer.
A role that cannot be read is no longer invented. Those people hold a seat without holding a slot, the listing asks for a headcount instead of naming roles that do not add up, and it then finds out properly: it asks the party over the addon channel, and it watches for roles being assigned in the party frame so setting them corrects the listing without re-posting.
Support tools
Neither is in /royal help — they are for when something is wrong.
/royal key debug— every listing, join and refusal, on both sides. The Group Starter is the second feature whose state lives on two machines, so the useful question is what each side saw./royal commsand/royal comms debug— transport status and a log below the features, including the two drop paths that used to be entirely silent.
