Routine Data - See what every alt owns, right in your tooltips. The data layer behind Routine, and a standalone alt tracker on its own works for WoW Forever
Item Owners • Bags • Bank • Warband Bank • Guild Bank • Currency Balances • Gold Tracker • Rare Kill Status • Data Broker • Developer API
What is Routine Data?
Routine Data remembers your characters so you can check them from anywhere. Log into each character once and it starts tracking them. After that, hover an item and see which alts carry it, hover a currency and see every character's balance, or hover a rare and see who already killed it this week, all without switching characters.
It is also the engine that Routine runs on, so Routine requires it. You do not need Routine to use Routine Data, and it works fine on its own.
Item Tooltips
Every item tooltip shows which of your characters own it and where.
- Per-character counts - bags and bank for each alt, class colored
- Warband bank - how many are sitting in the warband bank
- Guild banks - counts from any guild bank you have visited
- Stays out of the way - if Syndicator, Bagnon, BagSync or a similar addon is loaded, Routine Data hides its item lines so nothing shows twice (you can turn this off)
- Pick what you see - toggle bags, bank, warband and guild lines individually
Currency Tooltips
- Every character's balance on the currency tooltip, with a total
- Weekly progress for currencies with a weekly cap, like "(120/200 this week)"
- Account-wide currencies skipped, since they are the same everywhere
Rare Kill Status
Hover a tracked rare in the world and see whether you have already killed it, plus the status of the rest of your warband.
- Killed or not killed for the character you are playing
- Warband list - "Warband: 3 of 5 characters killed", with each alt's status
- Needs login shown for alts that have not logged in since the reset, so you never trust stale data
- Hold Shift for the full character list
- Works on its own - Routine shows its own, more detailed version when it is loaded, so you never see two
Gold Tracker
- Gold for every character, richest first, with a combined total
- Top five at a glance - hold Shift to see everyone
- Data Broker feed - show your total gold in Titan Panel, ElvUI data texts and other display addons
- Minimap button - left on its own, hidden automatically when Routine is installed since Routine has its own
Bank Snapshots
(This part requires Routine to work to display the information)
Routine Data saves the contents of your bags, bank, warband bank and guild bank each time you open them, including the tab layout, item links and icons. Routine's Alt Board uses this to show an alt's bank without logging in.
- Captured once - one scan feeds both the tooltips and the Banks tab, so nothing is scanned twice
- Existing Routine data imported - your bank, bag, guild bank and gold snapshots from Routine are copied in on first login, and nothing is removed from Routine's saved data

Using it with Routine
- Routine requires Routine Data. Install both. CurseForge and Wago install it for you; if you install by hand, grab both zip files
- Disabled by accident? Routine shows a popup offering to enable Routine Data and reload for you
- Routine still saves its own progress (weekly tracking, settings, alts) in its own database. Routine Data adds the item, currency, gold and bank data on top
For Addon Authors
Routine Data has a small public API for reading character data, plus callbacks. Add ## OptionalDeps: RoutineData to your toc and read from RoutineData.API.
local API = RoutineData.API
-- Who owns this item?
local counts = API.GetItemCounts(itemID)
for _, entry in ipairs(counts.characters) do
print(entry.key, entry.bags, entry.bank)
end
-- Every character's gold, richest first
for _, entry in ipairs(API.GetGoldRanking()) do
print(entry.key, entry.gold)
end
-- React when the weekly reset happens
API.RegisterCallback(myAddon, "WeeklyReset", function() end)
- Items, currencies and gold - available as soon as you log in
- Tracking data (progress, professions, rare kills, resets, bank layout) - available once Routine has loaded
- Callbacks - items, gold and currency updates, daily and weekly resets, data changes, removed characters
- Versioned - the API version only changes for breaking changes
The full reference is in the README that ships with the addon.
