What's new

Changelog

What changed in each version of Roundtable, newest first.

0.6.0 (2026-11-01)

First release on CurseForge: install and update Roundtable with the CurseForge app or WowUp. Everything in this version:

  • The Table: your group around a round table, one seat per friend, with class, level, XP, zone, status, professions and when they were last online. A list view for bigger groups, a page for each friend, and a compact panel to keep while you play.
  • Professions: plan who takes which profession, browse everything your friends can craft, offer to craft something, and see on any item's tooltip who can craft it, who needs it and who could learn the recipe.
  • Your own planner: a shopping list that counts what's in your bags, to-dos with reminders, an on-screen tracker, and for your own professions what gives skill points and which recipes to learn next.
  • Milestones: a small popup when a friend reaches a new level or profession rank.
  • On the map: friends on the world map and minimap, a feed of what happened at the table, and a path arrow that leads you to a friend.
  • Talent plans (WoW: Forever and Midnight): plan your build point by point on your class's tree and see the next talent in the tracker. Roundtable never spends a point for you.
  • Fun at the table: death banners, reactions, a break timer, away timers, a roll call, a tavern ledger with weekly awards, a knighting at the top level and seasonal decorations.
  • Levelling together: a level race, quests in common and dungeons that fit everyone's level.
  • Guilds: link your table to your guild, and guildmates join with one click.
  • WoW: Forever, TBC Anniversary and Midnight, in English and German.

Since the last test version:

  • Death banners are on by default, for your friends' deaths and now for your own ("You died") too. If you used a test version, both are switched on once; you can turn them off again in Options → Fun.

0.6.0-beta7 (2026-10-31)

  • Screenshots for the project page: /rt shot lists 16 shots and /rt shot 3 sets up the third one with the sample friends: it opens the page, fills in what it needs and shows the popup, without printing anything into the chat. /rt shot off puts everything back. The list with titles and descriptions for CurseForge is in docs/curseforge-description.md.
  • The sample friends from /rt test now have tavern ledger counts, one of them is away cooking with a timer, and one has a shopping list entry that another one crafts.

0.6.0-beta6 (2026-10-30)

  • Recipe book: recipes with ranks count once. Many Legion and Battle for Azeroth recipes come in ranks 1 to 3, and each rank used to show up as its own recipe, so one item could be listed three times and inflate the count. Now a recipe and its ranks are one line, as in the game's own profession window.
  • Duplicates saved by earlier versions are cleared the next time that character opens the profession window with this version, also on your friends' copies. Offers made on a higher rank move to the recipe's single line.
  • "Learn next" no longer lists rank 2 or 3 of a recipe you don't know yet; it lists rank 1.

0.6.0-beta5 (2026-10-30)

  • Taking a talent out of a plan takes out what builds on it. The talents under it no longer stay behind in red. When more than the one point would come out, Roundtable names those talents and asks first.
  • Points that only needed the removed point to open their row aren't lost: they wait for the next point that opens the row, and the bar says how many moved. Only talents that can't fit anywhere without it come out.
  • Steps that already didn't fit (red) stay where they are until you take them out. Taking out a red step also takes out what hangs from it.

0.6.0-beta4 (2026-10-30)

Fixes from testing talent plans in game:

  • Plans are only plans: right-click takes any point out of a plan, also one for a talent you've already learned, and the Order tab moves any step. None of it touches your character's talents.
  • The small green number (your learned rank) shows only on the plan's own talents, where it differs from the plan. "Learned now" shows everything you have.
  • Midnight: the middle button says "Spec" again instead of a number. The class and spec halves are now told apart by the talents you can see.

0.6.0-beta3 (2026-10-30)

The talent trees, redrawn the way the game draws them:

  • The game's own talent art: its talent frames (green when you can plan a point, gold when planned, grey when locked, red when a step doesn't fit) and its arrows.
  • A clean grid: every talent sits on the grid the game's positions give, at one size in whole pixels, from 24 to 40 depending on the window. On Forever the three trees stand side by side as Classic's 4 × 7 trees; on Midnight the half-shifted rows sit between the columns as in the game, passives are round, and the hero tree shows only your hero talents.
  • Arrows go straight down, across, or (Forever) across and then down, and turn gold once the talent they come from is full.
  • Tree headers: each tree's points and "next row in 3".
  • Level bar under the trees, one mark per level (Midnight: per point). Hover a mark to see which talent comes then; click it to see your build at that level, with later points shown faintly. The mouse wheel moves a level; "Show all of it" goes back.
  • Hover a talent to light up what it needs and what it opens, with the game's own tooltip for it. A planned point flashes; one that doesn't fit shakes and says why.
  • A small green number shows your learned rank where it differs from the plan.
  • Single-rank talents show no "0/1", as in the game.

Fixes:

  • Levels on Forever now count the points the "Talented" legacy perk gives before level 10, from what the game says you've earned.
  • Forever: the class tree is picked even when the game lists a Legacy tree first.
  • Midnight's hero-tree choice no longer shows up as a talent.

0.6.0-beta2 (2026-10-29)

Fixes for talent plans:

  • On Midnight, planning is no longer limited by a points total the game reports but doesn't explain. /rt debug talents shows that number, so it can be checked. Forever keeps its 51 points.
  • The Talents page stays away from TBC Anniversary, whose talents work the Classic way.
  • A talent whose description can't be read no longer shows an error message in its tooltip.

0.6.0-beta1 (2026-10-29)

Talent plans, on a new Talents page (WoW: Forever and Midnight):

  • Plan your talents point by point on your class's own talent tree, read from the game.
    • Click a talent to plan its next point; right-click takes one back.
    • Steps that break the tree's rules (too few points in that tree, a prerequisite missing, the other choice already taken) turn red, with the reason.
  • Order tab: every point in order (by level on Forever), with buttons to move a step earlier or later.
  • Plans per talent set (Forever's two sets, Midnight's specs), each with its own name.
    • "From my talents" starts a plan from what you have now.
    • "Follow this plan" picks the one your reminders use.
  • Reminders: "Next talent" in the on-screen tracker and in the compact panel, both on by default. A popup when you have a point to spend is off by default; switch it on in Options → Popups.
  • Learned now shows your talents as the game has them, and a Friends section is ready for sharing plans later.
  • Roundtable never spends talent points for you. /rt debug talents shows the technical details for bug reports.

0.5.0-beta3 (2026-10-29)

  • /rt toast now clinks goblets, followed by a hearty gulp. The clink is from Kenney's free Interface Sounds (kenney.nl, CC0). Restart the game fully once, so it finds the new sound file.

0.5.0-beta2 (2026-10-29)

  • Better sounds for the fun at the table, all the game's own:
    • the death banner tolls a deep city bell;
    • reactions have voice lines (a gnome cheering, "congratulations", "follow me");
    • the break timer has alarm-clock chimes, and the roll call the ready-check sound;
    • a knighting plays the level-up fanfare;
    • and /rt murloc does what you'd hope.

0.5.0-beta1 (2026-10-29)

Fun at the table:

  • Death banner: when a friend dies, a dark band crosses the screen with "Bob has died" in red and a sound. You can also turn it on for your own deaths ("You died"). Settings are in the new Options → Fun page.
  • Reactions: cheer, well played, thanks, hurry up, on my way, be right back, facepalm. Send them from the new Fun button on The Table, or with /rt cheer, /rt cheer Bob and so on. Your friends get a small popup with a sound.
  • Break timer: /rt break 10 pizza, or Fun → A break for the table. Everyone sees a bar with when it ends, a warning a minute before, and a popup when it's over.
  • Away timer: Fun → I'm away (cooking, shopping, phone …), or /rt away 15 cooking. Your seat shows "Away 12 min · Cooking" until you're back (/rt back).
  • Roll call: Fun → Roll call, or /rt rollcall. Everyone answers Ready, In 5 minutes or Not ready, and the seats show the answers.
  • Tavern ledger (Levelling → Tavern ledger): deaths, jumps, hearthstones, flights, repairs, quests and fish, this week, last week and in all. Once a week the ledger hands out awards, such as Gravity's favourite and Bunny of the week.
  • Knighting: reaching the top level is celebrated with a knighting. Choose Sir or Dame in Options → Your seat, and your table sees it before your name.
  • Seasonal decorations: pumpkins, candles and bats for Hallow's End (on now), presents and holly for Winter Veil, hearts, eggs, bonfires, mugs, and confetti for your table's birthday.
  • A few hidden commands to find. Sounds are the game's own, and everything can be switched off.

0.4.0-beta3 (2026-10-29)

Roundtable now runs on TBC Anniversary too, from the same download:

  • TBC's professions with Jewelcrafting, and the Master rank (up to 375) with its milestone popup.
  • Enchanting is read from its own window, so enchants show up in the recipe book with their materials.
  • Dungeons: the Outland dungeons join the list, from Hellfire Ramparts to Magisters' Terrace.
  • Keys: a new tab under Levelling → Dungeons shows who carries which heroic key (Flamewrought, Reservoir, Auchenai, Warpforged, Key of Time), the keys for Shattered Halls, Shadow Labyrinth and the Arcatraz, and the raid attunements for Karazhan, The Eye and Black Temple. Bags, bank and keyring all count.

0.4.0-beta2 (2026-10-29)

Roundtable now runs on Midnight too, from the same download:

  • Midnight's professions, Jewelcrafting and Inscription included (no First Aid there).
  • Skill tiers: each expansion's 1–100 tier counts, and milestone popups come at 25, 50, 75 and 100.
  • What to learn next follows the expansion tier your profession window shows. Your recipe book keeps every recipe you know, from every tier.
  • The level race goes up to Midnight's top level. The Dungeons tab is left out there, since Midnight's dungeons scale to your level.

0.4.0-beta1 (2026-10-29)

Guild mode, for a group that shares a guild:

  • Link your table to your guild in Options → Your table (or /rt guild on). Anyone at the table can switch it.
  • One click to sit down: guildmates with Roundtable who don't sit at a table yet get an offer, in chat and on The Table, and join with Join or /rt join. No invitation needed.
  • No friends list needed: the guild roster tells Roundtable who's online.
  • Lighter on messages: when everyone online is in the guild, updates go once through the guild's addon channel instead of a whisper to each friend. Guildmates who don't sit at your table ignore them.
  • Invitations from guildmates now arrive even if you aren't friends in game.
  • The Table's subtitle shows the linked guild.

0.3.0-beta5 (2026-10-28)

New:

  • Compact view: the minus button under the window's close button folds Roundtable into a small panel in the same spot: who's online, their level and where they are, and your open to-dos, with a line to add one. Click a to-do to tick it off, click a friend to open their page, right-click a friend to show the path. The plus button brings the full window back.
  • The open key, the minimap button and /rt bring back whichever view you used last.

Fixes:

  • The recipe book no longer lists things you can't craft, such as Multicraft, Resourcefulness or Skill in Midnight's cooking list. Entries already saved are hidden too.

0.3.0-beta4 (2026-10-28)

New:

  • A key to open Roundtable: set it in Options → Look (click, then press a key), or in the game's Keybindings under AddOns.
  • The tracker's width: drag its bottom-right corner while hovering it. Its hover box also has more room around the text.
  • Items on your own shopping list show in their tooltip with what you have, e.g. "My shopping list: 2 / 20".

Fixes from testing in game:

  • Side menus and the left bar no longer cut off labels: they're a little wider, Options has separate Popups and Tooltips pages, and a few long entries have shorter names. Anything that still doesn't fit shows in full when you hover it.
  • Items in the feed have their icon in front, so even white items read as items.
  • On The Table, the role icons sit in the seat's bottom-right corner, and a long name makes room so the host's crown stays inside the card. The list view keeps names and roles in their column.

0.3.0-beta3 (2026-10-28)

Fixes from testing in game:

  • The role buttons in Options → Your seat show their full outline again; on some screens edges were missing. The same goes for the other outlined controls on the Options page.
  • Changing the size of the path arrow no longer moves it around or off the screen: it grows and shrinks around its centre. The tracker and the Roundtable window also keep their place when you change their size.

0.3.0-beta2 (2026-10-28)

Find your friends:

  • Path arrow: points the way to a friend, with their name and distance. It glows green when you're heading right at them and shows "You're there" when you arrive. Drag it where you like, and set its size in Options → Map.
  • Start it from a friend's right-click menu (portrait, chat name or friends list) with "Show path", the button on their page, a click on their crest on the minimap, or /rt path Name (your target if you leave out the name). Stop it with its close button, a right-click, or /rt path off.
  • In a group the arrow follows your friend live; otherwise their position updates every few seconds while you're watching it.

0.3.0-beta1 (2026-10-28)

On the map:

  • Friends on the world map and minimap: each friend's crest in their banner colour, outside dungeons and raids. Hover one for their level, zone and status; on the minimap, friends out of range sit on the rim pointing their way.
  • Feed: a new tab on The Table with what happened at your table: levels, profession ranks, new recipes, craft offers, and friends joining or leaving.
  • Options → Map: share your position (never from inside instances), and show friends on the world map and the minimap.
  • Friends now catch up on each other's data as soon as they first hear from each other, not only after a minute.

0.2.0-beta2 (2026-10-28)

Your own planner:

  • To-dos in the Lists page: tick them off, keep them private or share them with your table, and let them remind you at every login, at a level, or when you reach a zone.
  • On-screen tracker (/rt tracker): your shopping list with live bag counts, your open to-dos and the crafts you offered, over the game world without a background. Its buttons appear when you hover it.
  • My professions now has a tab per profession: what gives skill points right now, with "Add materials", and the recipes you can learn next and where to get them.
  • Recipe tooltips show which friends could learn that recipe, with their skill.
  • Friends' shared to-dos show on their page.

0.2.0-beta1 (2026-10-28)

Levelling together:

  • Overview: everyone's crest on a level-race track from 1 to 60, plus each friend's level and XP, XP per hour, time to the next level, and how far ahead or behind you they are.
  • Quests in common: the quests you and your friends are on together with everyone's progress, and quests a friend has that you don't and that they can share. Click one to whisper them.
  • Dungeons: which dungeons fit everyone's level right now, from Ragefire Chasm to Upper Blackrock Spire.
  • /rt test now includes sample quests and XP rates, and /rt debug quests shows quest details for bug reports.

0.1.0-beta2 (2026-10-28)

Fixes from the first test in game:

  • Page titles and subtitles show again; the header art was covering them.
  • The labels in the side bar and the Beta tag no longer start out blank, and page titles use the Cinzel font.
  • First Aid is named properly instead of "Unknown".
  • In Options, the role buttons no longer draw their icon over the label.
  • In friends' shopping lists, the amounts line up with their item.
  • Your own row in the friends list is marked with a dot instead of "(you)", so long names fit.
  • A new seat gets a banner colour nobody else at the table uses, until you pick your own.
  • Gathering professions no longer list their gathering skills as recipes.

0.1.0-beta1 (2026-10-28)

The first test version, for trying Roundtable with your friends before WoW: Forever launches.

  • The Table: your friends seated around a painted round table in a great hall, each with their level and XP, class, zone, professions, the role they want to play, their status, and their weapon on the table. Switch to a list view for bigger groups, and open any friend for their characters, professions and what they're looking for.
  • Your table: create a table, name it, and invite friends by name or target; they accept with a click. Everyone picks a banner colour and crest.
  • Profession planner: who has which profession and who plans which, with the gaps your table still has.
  • Recipe book: everything your table can craft, with the game's item tooltip on hover, the materials, and who offers to craft what. Recipes update whenever someone opens a profession window.
  • Craft offers: tell your table how many of something you're happy to make, or "on request".
  • Shopping list: shift-click or drag items in; counts update from your bags, and shared entries show in your friends' item tooltips.
  • Item tooltips everywhere: who can craft an item, who offers it, and who needs it.
  • Milestone popups when a friend reaches a level or profession milestone.
  • My professions: your ranks and when you can train the next one.
  • English and German, three colour schemes and accent colours, /rt test to preview everything with sample friends.
