Rotation Reminder
Rotation Reminder is a lightweight visual rotation cheat sheet for World of Warcraft.
It is designed for players who already know what they want to press, but occasionally need a simple visual reminder of their opener, priority, or utility sequence.
Unlike traditional rotation helpers, Rotation Reminder does not calculate the best ability to use. It does not inspect buffs, procs, cooldowns, enemy health, target conditions, or combat state to decide what you should press next.
You create the sequence yourself, and the addon displays it.
Features
- Create separate Opener, Priority, and Utility timelines
- Uses actual World of Warcraft spell icons and tooltips
- Separate setups for every specialization
- Add the same spell multiple times
- Consecutive repeated spells are grouped visually as 2x, 3x, and so on
- Choose how many casts are visible on the timeline
- Show or hide Opener, Priority, and Utility independently
- Add custom reminder text underneath each section
- Adjustable icon size
- Custom background color and transparency
- Movable and lockable reminder frame
- Optional click-through mode
- Settings are saved between sessions
Optional cast progress tracking
Rotation Reminder can optionally keep track of your progress through a sequence using your own successful spell casts.
For example, if your configured sequence is:
Arcane Surge → Arcane Missiles → Arcane Barrage → Touch of the Magi
and you successfully cast Arcane Surge, that icon becomes grey. After Arcane Missiles, that icon becomes grey as well. However, if you cast an unrelated ability, the addon simply ignores it.
The tracker does not search ahead in the sequence, skip abilities, react to procs, or determine what you should cast next. Repeated abilities also support partial progress. A 3x Arcane Missiles step can display 1/3, then 2/3, before becoming completed.
Progress can automatically reset when the sequence is completed or when combat ends.
What Rotation Reminder is not
Rotation Reminder is intentionally not a rotation solver.
It does not:
- Recommend your next ability
- Highlight the optimal spell
- Analyse buffs or debuffs
- Analyse cooldowns
- Analyse enemy health or target count
- React to procs
- Change the rotation dynamically
- Simulate damage or calculate priorities
Think of it more as a movable visual cheat sheet that helps you remember the rotation you already decided to use.

Feedback and testing
Rotation Reminder is still being actively tested and developed.
If you encounter bugs, unusual spell behaviour, interface issues, or have ideas for improving the addon, feedback is very welcome.
AI-assisted development
Rotation Reminder was designed, directed, tested, and iterated by its creator, with code generation and development assistance from Anthropic Claude Pro.
AI was used as a development tool throughout the project, including helping write and revise Lua code. Features, behaviour, design decisions, testing feedback, and the overall direction of the addon were guided by the creator.
The project is being published openly as an experimental community addon, and the use of AI in its development is intentionally disclosed.
