What's new

RotationPilot 0.24.0: Never give that buff

A buff you never want to hand out, to anyone, whatever their class. The usual case is a paladin's Blessing of Salvation: it lowers threat, and the addon cannot see who is tanking, so some players would rather never offer it at all.

What is new

  • One switch per blessing in the options panel, under Buff a Friend: "Never give Blessing of Might", Wisdom, Kings, Salvation, Light. Tick one and nobody is offered it.
  • The same by command: /rp friend never Blessing of Salvation. The same again gives it back; a spell ID works too. /rp friend never on its own lists what is held back.
  • It applies everywhere the addon suggests a buff for someone else at once: Buff a Friend, Buff everyone, and the group grid.
  • The list is saved per character profile and carried in export and import.

This is different from the existing per-class choice (/rp friend use <class> <spell> and the "gets" dropdowns), which sets which buff a class is offered first. "Never give" takes a buff out of every class's list, full stop.

Getting started with Buff everyone

  1. Bind the key. Escape, Options, Key Bindings, AddOns, RotationPilot, "Buff everyone: the next missing buff". Any key or mouse button you like.

  2. Show friendly nameplates. Passers-by are only visible to the addon through their nameplates, and the game hides friendly player nameplates by default. Press Shift-V (the game's own "Show Friendly Nameplates" key) to turn them on. By default the addon turns them on for you while the queue is in use and puts them back when the icon goes; if you would rather control it yourself, /rp buffall plates leaves the setting alone and Shift-V is then the switch.

  3. Stand where the people are, out of combat. The icon appears with the spell, who it is for, your key and how many are waiting.

  4. Press the key. One buff, one person. Keep pressing until the icon goes. New faces bring it back.

/rp buffall shows the queue and says whether friendly nameplates are on.
