RestedRoster

RestedRoster is a lightweight alt-management addon that helps players keep track of rested experience across multiple characters.

Instead of logging through every alt just to remember which characters have accumulated rested XP, RestedRoster provides an in-game roster showing the rested experience information recorded for your characters and estimates how that rested XP grows while they are offline.

How it changes the game experience

Rested XP is especially useful for players who regularly switch between several characters.

Without an addon, keeping track of rested XP normally means logging into each character individually and checking its XP bar. With a larger roster of alts, it can become difficult to remember which character has been resting the longest or which one is currently the best candidate to level.

RestedRoster creates a simple in-game overview instead.

For example, if you have several characters that you level in rotation, you can check your RestedRoster and see which characters previously had rested XP recorded and how much they are estimated to have accumulated since they were last played.

This makes it easier to decide:

• Which alt to level next.

• Which characters have been offline long enough to build up useful rested XP.

• Whether it is worth leaving one character resting while continuing with another.

Recorded vs estimated rested XP

When you play a character, RestedRoster can read the character's actual rested XP information from the game and save it.

Once that character goes offline, addons can no longer continuously read its live rested XP value. RestedRoster therefore calculates an estimate based on the last known value and the amount of time the character has been offline.

Estimated values are presented as estimates rather than pretending they are live information.

The next time you play that character, RestedRoster can record the current real value again and update its stored information.

Why the roster is in-game

World of Warcraft addons do not run on the character-selection screen, so RestedRoster provides its character information through an in-game roster instead.

Each character contributes its information when played, allowing the addon to gradually build a useful overview of your alts.

Design philosophy

RestedRoster is aimed at players who enjoy maintaining several characters but do not want to manually keep track of when each one was last played or how much rested experience it may have accumulated.

Its goal is simple:

Know which alt is rested and make better use of your levelling time.
