Rumorix Automarker (RAM)

Rumorix Automarker (RAM) is a lightweight World of Warcraft addon designed to make raid target marking faster and more convenient in Midnight.

Due to Blizzard's current addon restrictions, raid markers can no longer be assigned completely automatically. RAM works within these limitations by detecting the appropriate tank and preparing a secure marking action that only requires a single player click.

Edit Mode Support — Position the RAM tank button through WoW's Edit Mode.
Automatic Hiding — Optionally hides the tank button after the marking action.
Mouseover Marker — Mark the unit currently underneath your mouse cursor.
Key Binding Support — Assign the Mouseover Marker to your preferred key.
Protect Existing Markers — Optionally only mark mouseover targets that are currently unmarked.
Midnight Compatible — Designed around Midnight's protected-action and secret-value restrictions.

Secure Marking

Blizzard no longer allows addons to assign raid markers completely automatically without player interaction.

RAM therefore uses WoW's secure action system.

RAM detects the unit → prepares the marker → you perform one click or key press.

This keeps the addon compatible with the current Midnight API restrictions while reducing tank marking to a single interaction.

Tank Marker

When entering supported PvE content, RAM automatically detects the assigned tank and displays the Mark Tank button.

Marker Selection — Choose the raid target icon you want RAM to use.
Button Size — Set a custom button size in the addon options.
Positioning — Move the button freely or position it through Edit Mode.
Locking — Lock the button to prevent accidental movement.
Auto Hide — Optionally hide the button after the tank has been marked.

Mouseover Marker

RAM can also place a raid marker on the unit currently under your mouse cursor.

Mouseover Marking — Hover over the desired unit and use the configured action.
Key Binding — Assign a key under ESC → Options → Key Bindings → Rumorix Automarker → Mark Mouseover Target.
Floating Button — Optionally show a separate clickable Mouseover Marker button.
Preserve Existing Marks — Optionally prevent RAM from overwriting an existing raid marker.

Localization

RAM uses English by default.

When World of Warcraft is running with the German locale (deDE), RAM automatically loads the included German localization.

Slash Commands

/ram — Open the RAM options.
/ram test — Show the tank marker button for testing.
/ram status — Display the current RAM status.
/ram reset — Reset frame positions.

Compatibility

World of Warcraft: Midnight 12.1

RAM is built around Midnight's secure-action and secret-value restrictions and avoids relying on protected raid-marker reads where possible.
