Keep the word window open when Save is pressed

commit b98677668c16e4476d978e2fb12dc2898c68f5e3 Author: Ironship oleg.szew@outlook.com Date: Wed Oct 14 00:04:15 2026 +0200

Resolve the client's macros in the English column in 1.22.5

The game substitutes $C, $N, $R and $g...:...; in quest text before it ever
reaches an addon, so the German column -- read from the game -- shows "Krieger!"
where the source says "$C!". The English column is read out of the stored corpus
instead, where the macro is kept exactly as Blizzard wrote it and nothing had
resolved it: the same quest read "Krieger! Ich dachte schon..." on the right and
"$C! I thought I would die out here with none to know of it." on the left.

GetEnglishQuestRecord now puts every field the reader can show through the same
substitution the catalog's own records already went through, and gets the
English names for it -- this column is showing English text, so "$C" is
"Warrior" here and "Krieger" there. The record is handed back untouched when it
carries no macro, which is almost always: this runs on every render, and a copy
of the quest database's own table per render is a cost nobody asked for.

Validation: 75 Lua 5.1 checks and 41 Node checks pass, including a new suite for
this path that also holds the stored record unrewritten -- the substitution must
not be baked into the database, which the German catalog reads too.

Split an ellipsis that joins two words in 1.22.4

"befinden...es" is two words with a pause between them, and the walk handed it
on as one: the reader marked it as a single word, the editor opened on it, and
no dictionary can have an entry for it. The layout now splits there, keeping the
ellipsis as a token of its own so both columns still show it, and keeps it as it
was written -- text that uses the single character goes on showing the
character, not three dots.

Only an ellipsis *between* two words splits. One at the end of a word,
"Wartet...", is punctuation that word already wears, and the layout keeps it as
one button: punctuation inside a token must not shift the index of every button
after it, which english-sentence.test.lua holds and which still holds. A single
dot is left alone as well -- it is the thousands separator ("10.000") and the
inside of an abbreviation ("z.B.", "R.C.V.K").

Validation: 74 Lua 5.1 checks and 41 Node checks pass. The corpus was walked to
find the cases rather than guessed at: of 1,028,572 tokens in the German quest
data, 154 carried an ellipsis between two words and all of them now split. The
321 single dots are abbreviations and one decimal and are left alone.

commit ce6d844cc517f5683d18cbce08c28b639ab8158f Author: Ironship oleg.szew@outlook.com Date: Tue Oct 13 21:59:37 2026 +0200

Ship the parchment palette, book reading and Spoken audio in 1.22.3

The status four measured 1.06:1 on the native parchment: "6% known 21%
learning 94% new" was not faint, it was invisible, because the palette is
light on dark and the reader draws dark on light. A second palette carries the
same meanings for that one surface, measured against the parchment itself --
#ca9761 in its shadow to #f7c986 where it is brightest, read off a screenshot
of the Reader at 100% -- and every row clears 4.5:1 on the darkest of the
three. The word marking, the legend swatches, the progress line and the
settings preview all draw from it, and the drop shadow that smeared the ink on
parchment is gone.

Readable items -- a journal, a letter, a page in a book -- are read through the
same reader as an NPC's conversation: the page is read through the client's own
API and the words come up clickable, page turns follow, and a closed book takes
its panel with it. Where Spoken is installed its quest audio is one button
away, asking the same two objects its own quest-log Play button asks.

Every window closes with the button its template brings. ButtonFrameTemplate
has one and draws it -- the word editor is built from that template, asks for
no close button at all, and its cross is the only one that has ever shown -- so
replacing it was the fault: three attempts at supplying one instead came out
clickable and invisible. The reader wears that template now too.

The copy dialog, the confirm dialog and the statistics window wear the native
chrome the rest of the addon wears; the library's side tabs sit flush with the
frame instead of six pixels inside its border; and the content inset no longer
reaches below the scroll it frames, which had drawn a rule through the word
list's footer and the library's pagination row.

A word saved unchanged keeps the record of having met it -- how many quests,
when it was first and last seen -- instead of losing it along with the pack's
wording. And a batch of review findings: the v9 migration merges colliding keys
rather than dropping them, the passage a log read inherits is forced for both
ways into the log, the ready-for-Known count reads the clock the editor reads,
and the word list guards its saved variables the way the rest of the addon does.

Validation: 74 Lua 5.1 checks and 41 Node checks pass, including four new
suites for books, Spoken, the encounter record and the native chrome. Two test
harness gaps that had been quietly skipping checks are repaired: the stub's
unpack, and its HookScript, which assigned where the client appends.

Fix quest side-tab layering with map and Spoken panels

commit 767bdf70bac91b69209d421228ef16c633981bb9 Author: Ironship oleg.szew@outlook.com Date: Sat Oct 10 16:07:43 2026 +0200

Ship the bilingual quest library and Reader controls in 1.21.4

Open the library on My quests, with All in game quests and Words side tabs,
bilingual titles, current-log filtering and collapsed quest variants. Use
matching quest sources to fill missing German text for completed quests and
exclude item, spell and NPC records from the quest library.

Open quests in the normal learning Reader and preserve the library page and
search when returning through the arrow tab. Follow the language selected in
Settings. Make NPC Reader opening and narration separate opt-in settings.

Use 24 px side-tab icons, characters for My quests and a book for All in game
quests. Move Not now beside Copy word without narrowing the rating buttons.

Validation: 74 Lua 5.1 checks pass, including Retail, Forever and Classic tab
coverage. The 23-file 1.21.4 ZIP matches sources and both installed clients.

Add a localized quest library with completed quest reading

Add searchable All, Log, Completed and History views with DE/EN switching and clickable vocabulary. Archive native offers locally and supplement missing fields from matching game/language data. Add a book side tab, wrap narrow reader footers and preserve legacy quest selection.

Validation: 66 base Lua 5.1 tests, 39 Node tests, UI geometry regressions and the full Classic/Forever corpus reader matrix.

fix(settings): wrapped stats line pushes Ready line down in preview

The progress advance assumed one line, so in a narrow preview
'Ready for Known' printed over 'learning 67% new'. Measure it like
the cue above and the English below already do.

commit 8dd2e91234cfd706cb6cf1d5529c22b075a91a44 Author: Ironship oleg.szew@outlook.com Date: Fri Oct 2 12:39:41 2026 +0200

fix(reading-mode): keep quest windows bright under the dimmer

The FULLSCREEN dimmer covered Blizzard's own quest windows too, dimming
the accept/continue buttons the player still has to press, and it also
covered the voice reader (strata HIGH) with its close button. While the
dimmer is up, QuestFrame, GossipFrame, QuestLogFrame, WorldMapFrame and
the voice talker (by frame name, no dependency) are lifted just above it
and put back where they were when it goes.
