Description
QuestHerald
Level however you like. QuestHerald speaks up only when a quest chain is worth your time.
Most leveling addons tell you where to walk next. QuestHerald doesn't. You explore, take whatever quests you like and go wherever you want. When you reach the level for a quest chain with a real payoff (a ring, a dungeon blue, a key, an attunement or a class quest), QuestHerald tells you once and then gets out of the way.
Built for WoW: Forever. It also runs on Classic Era.
What it does
- Level-up heads-ups. When you reach the level for a notable chain, you get a small pop-up, a short yellow message on screen and one chat line. The pop-up fades on its own and never blocks anything.
- "Coming up" previews. Chains a few levels away appear in the pop-up and in chat, so you can plan ahead without being told what to do.
- A journal of the chains worth doing. Type
/qhor click the minimap book. Everything is grouped as In progress, Available now, Coming up, Later and Completed, with:- the level it opens and the best level to do it
- where it starts and what the reward is
- why it's worth your time
- every quest in the chain, with your progress ticked off automatically
- Next-step hints. When you turn in part of a tracked chain, one chat line tells you what comes next and where.
- Your choice, per character. Mark a chain Not interested to hide it, or Mark as done for class quests that can't be detected automatically.
- Never spammy. Each chain is announced once. A character that's already mid-level gets one summary pop-up, not a pile of them.
Works with Questie (optional)
If you have Questie installed, QuestHerald uses its quest data to show you who to talk to. It still gives no directions.
- Click any quest in the journal to pin its quest giver and turn-in NPC on your world map and minimap.
- Hover a quest to see who gives it and where to hand it in.
- Show on map pins the step that matters right now: the turn-in if you already have the quest, otherwise the quest giver.
- Shift-click a pin to remove it, or press Clear pins in the journal to remove them all. Pins from your own Questie searches stay put.
Without Questie, everything else works exactly the same.

Good to know
- Rewards are listed as they were in Classic Era. Blizzard has updated some rewards in WoW: Forever, so treat them as a guide.
- Forever's new zones (Mount Hyjal, Zephyr's Isle, The Riverglades) aren't covered yet. Their quest data will be added in an update after launch.
- Lightweight. No libraries, no combat-log access and no dependencies, so Forever's addon restrictions don't affect it.
- Private. QuestHerald never sends anything to anyone. It only reads your level, class, race, faction and quest progress, and stores your settings locally.
Found a problem?
Feedback helps a lot, especially in the first weeks of WoW: Forever. If something looks wrong, such as a chain that opens at a different level or a quest that never ticks off, please leave a comment with the quest name and your faction. Typing /qh ids lists the quest IDs in your log, which makes fixes much faster.
