PSW Hunt for the Rares: Classic
**Classic-era expansion module for PSW Hunt for the Rares on modern Retail World of Warcraft.**
Adds rare tracking, routing, Hunt Mode integration and legacy-content support across the surviving Classic-era outdoor zones of the **Eastern Kingdoms** and **Kalimdor**.
This module targets Retail WoW. It is not a Classic Era client addon.
---
## Classic Support
Current coverage includes:
- 327 outdoor rares across 40 current Retail map zones
- Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor outdoor rare coverage
- multi-spawn locations for rares with more than one supported appearance point
- documented patrol/search guidance for moving rares
- conservative handling of phased or heavily altered zones
The module includes expansion-specific rare definitions, map data, completion signals, routing and encounter guidance where supported.
---
## Hunt Mode
Supported rares can participate in HFTR's built-in **Hunt Mode** where the encounter lifecycle provides enough information to do so safely.
Hunt Mode can:
- guide you toward eligible remaining rares
- skip completed or unavailable targets when HFTR has a reliable signal
- use HFTR's built-in navigation arrow
- work without TomTom
- provide cave, patrol, summon and activation guidance
- handle multi-location and special-access encounters
Live detection remains authoritative whenever a supported rare is actually present.
---
## Classic Encounter Types
Classic contains a large mix of ordinary outdoor spawns, multi-location rares and wandering patrols. HFTR keeps moving routes separate from static spawn anchors where that distinction is known.
Dungeon-only records and unresolved submap-only records are deliberately excluded rather than presented as confirmed outdoor targets.
---
## Legacy Accuracy
This is a legacy retrofit expansion module.
HFTR preserves reliable completion signals, current Retail map data and documented encounter mechanics wherever practical. Some historical rotations, phases or availability systems cannot always be reconstructed perfectly years later.
Where exact state is uncertain, HFTR uses conservative fallback behavior rather than inventing timers or availability rules. Live detection always takes priority over a historical prediction.
---
## Current Release Status
**Classic v0.1.1 is the current HFTR Classic-era release.**
The current package provides broad outdoor coverage while keeping historically altered or uncertain states conservative. No fabricated respawn countdowns are used.
---
## Requirements
**Requires:**
- PSW Hunt for the Rares Core v0.15.1 or newer
This project is an expansion plugin and is not intended to run standalone.
