Designated Driver: An Auto-Follow on Demand Mod
If you're like my room-mate and I then you probably get distracted easily and end up standing around when you could be going somewhere. It's nice to have the ability to have a friend or a guildie drive you somewhere if you need to be going somewhere, and that's just what Designated Driver does.
It builds a list of those who can drive you based on who's in your friends list, and then someone can simply say !dd in party chat (with the exclamation mark, that's important) to have you following them (providing they're a friend, of course!) and that's all there is to it.
If you're out of range, don't worry. Designated Driver will account for that and let your friend know, so there won't be any frustrated minutes spent wondering why the mod might not be working!
Short Version: If !dd is said in party chat by someone you have in your friends list, you start following them. If you're out of following range, the mod tells them that.
What happened to the old Designated Driver?
I like being able to keep my mods maintained, so I tend to frequently strip them down to just the parts I use. I like my mods being lightweight and not being resource hogs, that's a goal I always strive for. If you prefer the older and more feature-laden Designated Driver, then the old (0.1) version is still here. This is the direction Designated Driver is taking now though.
I might bring back the ability to set windowed/fullscreen modes, but only if that's a requested feature. I've actually never used it and it's probably the case that no one else will either.
