LinkGen is primarily used to generate in-game item links based on an input item name, item id, and item quality. This is the simplest use of the addon; type /lg show to show the main window.
More advanced usage lets you use /lg link in one of two fashions to force link items; /lg link itemid will link you that item if it's in your local cache; if not, nothing will show up. /lg link name itemid quality will force-link an item (not gauranteed to be correct!), where quality is 0 = trash, 1 = common, 2 = uncommon, 3 = rare, 4 = epic, 5 = legendary, 6 = artifact.
You can also use LinkGen to store and later search through item links; this has the benefit of only tracking items you care about (as opposed to mods which pick up every item link they see) and only storing the crucial information to recreate the item link, rather than the entire tooltip.
/lg add itemid or /lg add (itemlink1)(itemlink2) ... will add items to the database.
/lg remove itemid will remove an item from the database.
/lg search text will return all item links in the database containing the string text.
