During the first several Molten Core runs I ran, I became so nervous
about proceeding with an unready raid that I went a little berserk
with ready checks; I would call ready checks before two-giant pulls,
after buff breaks, before movements, before bosses... it became a
running joke pretty quickly.

Being the perceptive individual that I am, I stopped doing the ready
checks so often. But it never failed to bother me that maybe, MAYBE
the raid secretly wasn't ready. And I thought it'd be really nice to
have something that would just automatically gather that information
and present it to me in an easy-to read format: a traffic light.

This addon DOES WORK if not everyone has it installed! It will just "guess" for party members that don't have the addon.

Players can set their status manually, or it will be set by triggers (low health/mana, afk, dead, ghost, eating, drinking, etc). The "traffic light" summarizes the results, with tooltips to show who's in what state. A full report dialog is available if necessary. The addon DOES use a chat channel (GLPARTY by default, though you can change this with a slash command; see Readme.txt; if configured to do so, GreenLight will use the CT_RaidAssist channel if available and in a raid).
